Sariel Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Here's a little concept following the release of new round tiles. I believe it can be useful wherever a small low-friction turntable capable of handling serious weight is needed. It can also be motorized as shown in the video, or alternatively you can put a vertical axle through its middle, just replace one of the 4x4 round bricks (upper or lower) with the variant with a pin hole. RohanBeckett Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 I guess it'd work just as well with GBC.. I mean soccer/basketballs? :) Quote
AFOLegofan66 Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 very cool concept thanks for showing this to all of us!! Quote
mocbuild101 Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Yet another great idea from Sariel . And I didn't even know about those tiles! Quote
JJ2 Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Nice idea, this is a thrust bearing, have you considered using GBC balls? Quote
Sariel Posted May 30, 2017 Author Posted May 30, 2017 I think GBC balls will work just the same, they're only 2mm smaller than Zamor spheres if I'm not mistaken. Quote
Leonardo da Bricki Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Looks great, very useful technique. Thanks for sharing! And I think using GBC balls might be better, to find a compromise with stability. Quote
offroadcreations Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Great use of parts, and great concept. Thanks for sharing! Quote
