Batbrick Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Wow! I'm on a bit of a Mocing spree lately, I can't believe I never used to build things, I enjoy it so much! Today I ripped apart the great little Battle Arachnoid, to try and make a cool alternate model out of nearly all the pieces. Here it is, the Battle Beetle: (What, you were expecting a better name?) Enjoy my better photography and crisp clean photos: Front view: Side view, you can see how the "claws" are attached here: Rear view, the pilot is better armoured than most Exo sets, and has an rear facing weapon: Sweeping cinematic shot of the cold menace, you can also see that this has a far more evil face eater than the actual set, with two containers for the skulls *skull* : Here you can see that the robot has different arms for working the cockpit, and is very well protected from the side: Top view, showing the two forward guns. For some reason the grill on the window is loose: Better shot of the weaponry, those saws will cut you up something awful. The face eater I like, and the guns look like eyes, giving it a monster look at the front. Last shot: Brickshelf gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=299598 I'm really happy with it, no other pieces but the ones in this set were inlcuded, and only about three pieces I didn't use. Tell me what you think though! *sweet* Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
Asuka Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Wow! I'm on a bit of a Mocing spree lately, I can't believe I never used to build things, I enjoy it so much! Welcome to the wonderful world of neverending MOCing fun! *y* Your Battle Beetle looks indeed very comely with a classic and remarkable shape, primary done to the cleverly bottom mounted arms and clear structured legs/cockpit area. Pretty smart, reasonable cool. A distinct job! *sweet* Quote

dillthepill Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Wow, pure beauty! I love the chainsaw arms, the two eyes, and especially the face eater! Beautifull MOC, I will probably do the same thing with a spare BA. I may be able to do it without instuctions, but if you have enough spare time on your hands, can you make instuctions? Quote

LuxorV Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Nice Mod, Batbrick *y* It's difficult to build something great with so few pieces, but you did a neat job here *wub* The rear facing weapon is a nice addition, and I like the way you used the armour to give this open cockpit a more protective look. Inertia Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 (edited) That's so cool, the way that you used the claws at the front gives it a very insecty look to it, It's better that the actual set! Edited February 5, 2008 by Inertia Quote

iamded Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Very cool Batbrick! That thing could maul folks up something awful! :-D Very neat! *y* ~Peace Quote
LuxorV Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 I was re-looking at the pics, and a sudden idea came to my mind. This battle machine can also be very useful as a small forklift, with those flat supports under its belly :-P Random thoughts out *wacko* LuxorV Quote
Batbrick Posted February 6, 2008 Author Posted February 6, 2008 Very cool Batbrick! That thing could maul folks up something awful! :-D Very neat! *y* ~Peace Thanks iamded! Looks like you've inherited my "something awful" talk I was re-looking at the pics, and a sudden idea came to my mind. This battle machine can also be very useful as a small forklift, with those flat supports under its belly :-P Random thoughts out *wacko* LuxorV Good idea LuxorV, interestingly enough, I originally conceived it as a worker mech, the backbone of the robot forces, so I guess I could make a forklift version *y* Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
LuxorV Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Great mech experts think the same way ;-) LuxorV Quote

Batbrick Posted February 6, 2008 Author Posted February 6, 2008 Thought it was a decieving trick for the enemy ;-) LuxorV Oh yes of course, that TOTALLY the reason X-D TOTALLY 8-| That said I do still love it, it was either make it top heavy and keep iamded's fighter or proporion it right and chuck my friend away, looking back, I think I made the wrong choice. I hope to improve more on my mechs, I might make another one soon. Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
