Posted February 5, 200817 yr Oh yeah! I did it! Okay. Enough with the celebration. Here's how I did it: Supplies:•Indy Whip (Duh :-| ) •A straw (the snugger it holds the whip the better, but a regualar soft drink straw will do okay, I think. On second thought, you might want to try to get a snug one. •A PYREX container, preferably a measuring cup •Water •A mircowave. How to straigten: 1. See about how long the whip is, and cut the straw to have about a 1/4 in. or 1 cm overhang on both sides. 2. Put the whip in the staw. 3. Resist temptation to blow it out of the straw. Okay, you can, but put it back in. 4. Fill your pyrex container about 2/3 full with water. 5. STIR the water. This is an important step. It prevent the water from erupting. This means if you skip this step, you may end up with boiling hot water all over you. 6. Drop the whip-filled straw into the container. 7. Microwave for 2-3 minutes. I suggest letting the water settle before taking it out. 8. After about a minute, remove the straw. 9. Let cool for another 2-3 minutes, and remove whip. You may have to blow it out. 10. There you go, you have your whip. Straightened whip. :-) By the way, if anything happens while you try this, neither I nor Eurobricks.com or it's admins are responsible.

February 5, 200817 yr Indeed. Even then, Indy's beating stick (what? He could very well beat someone with that) looks a little suggestive at the top. *Wink, wink, nudge, budge* Catch my drift? Looks better curled.
February 5, 200817 yr Author That's an... interesting solution! But once it's straightened, is it posable? Otherwise you're screwed with Indy holding a wooden stick. Yes, actually. It can be bent to stay about a 90
February 5, 200817 yr Author Posable... yes... possable. Sorry it's so big, I guess I shouldn't have cropped it.
February 5, 200817 yr The title of this thread aboslutely killed me. All I could think when I saw it was, "Maybe a little Viagra would help..." ANYWAY, a very innovative solution to the problem of Indy's flacid whip. ;-)
February 5, 200817 yr No offense, but it just looks ugly. Almost swollen... Norrington's right... I'm gonna stick with it as it is! :-X :-P
February 5, 200817 yr Your first pic reminds me of something I wouldn't like to picture, squeaker! :-X I agree with the others, a very nice solution you have come up with, but I think I prefer it the way it was supposed to be! ;-) Edited February 5, 200817 yr by casewindu
February 5, 200817 yr it looks like a giant vibrator Very subtle. :-D It looks but I would definately prefer a curled one. :-)
February 5, 200817 yr Very subtle. :-D It looks but I would definately prefer a curled one. :-) a curled vibrator?!? :-D nah i'm just playing i much prefer a curled up whip too ;-) X-D
February 5, 200817 yr it looks like a giant vibrator yep, thats what it looks like indeed X-D Can't we just leave the whip alone? TT
February 5, 200817 yr Just for reference, you can do this with a bunch of plastic items. I'm into Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars Minis line, and it's a widely discussed practice to put the minis into hot water to shape them. Also of note, over time the plastic generally reverts to its original, molded shape. The length of time it stays in the modified shape is largely dependent on the type of plastic resin used to make said plastic item.
February 18, 200817 yr I agree it would probably just curl up again after a while. I agree it would probably just curl up again after a while.
