Posted June 18, 20177 yr Hello Everyone, This is my first MOC which I am now ready to share. When the 42055 BWE was released I was very excited, but also quite disappointed at the same time - so much potential that didn’t really meet my expectations of what a BWE should look like.. So foolishly I embarked on building my own, loosely based on the 42055, and the Bagger 288, with a few "improvements". It's taken almost a year of building on and off. Some statistics: I’d estimate somewhere around 22,000 pieces, though I didn’t count them! Consumed 9 42055 kits for parts, plus quite a few others 13 XL Motors 5 large motors 1 medium motor 5 Battery Boxes Crew of 25 Dimensions 110cm high 320cm long 34cm Bucket Wheel 680cm of conveyor belt 22kg Dismantles for storage in a wardrobe! Functions: Operated by 5 Bluetooth SBricks Main superstructure and Outfeed tracks all function (albeit crawling very slowly) Main superstructure rotates 360 degrees Winches raise and lower the bucket wheel arm up to 30cm The outfeed hopper moves in and out for discharge The outfeed truss extends and contracts by 70cm 5 conveyor belts Rotating Bucket Wheel It's fully functional, controlled via an iPad or other touch device. It also disassembles for transport (and hiding in the closet.) all the red pins that a visible are the key pins for dismantling it. I encountered many problems along the way - the track section in particular which as the model got heavier required several rebuilds and redesigns to cope with the weight and still be able to move correctly. I have a substantial number of build images which I would be happy to make available if there is interest. So here it is! June 18, 20177 yr Welcome to Eurobricks! That's a very impressive build! Edited June 18, 20177 yr by KamalMYafi
June 18, 20177 yr That's just incredible - congrats! HoF candidate? I dread to think how much it'd cost to build one, but if I ever win the lottery it's no.1 on my list
June 18, 20177 yr Well, you are a proffessional technic builder! A very impressive, solide and stable build of the BWE. Also a great detailed moc and all coulours fit perfectly. I`m very look forward to see a video of this monster! But one question: How man BWE 420055 do you bought for this monster? Must have been very expensive, or not ? But thanks for sharing us this impressive moc! I look forwar seeing another mocs of you in the future!

HoF candidate? You can suggest this moc in HOF suggestion topic, and it will be reviewed for entering!
June 18, 20177 yr Very beautiful build must've taken you so much effort but we can see it's worth it!
June 18, 20177 yr This looks truly epic! I'd like to see it in action! Did you also build nine mining cars? ;)
June 18, 20177 yr Great first MOC! This is absolutely stunning and I would never be able to do something which even comes close of this! Oh, and welcome to Eurobricks! Keep building!
June 18, 20177 yr Author Thanks for the welcome and the kind words everyone - I have added some video (which has been uploading) - it's not Hollywood grade, but should give you a good idea of what happens! I'll also add a screen shot of the iPad controls.
June 18, 20177 yr Welcome to eurobricks and oh my!! Incredible submission! Video would be wonderful and very popular i am sure. And images of the build along the way.....I would be very interested.
June 18, 20177 yr What a introduction! That looks awesome and deserves to be in the hall of fame on your first post!
June 18, 20177 yr I am not usually Interested in massive builds but the BWE is one machine that deserves one and like others have said yours is epic! I love all the minifigs to 'play' with and the control panel is a Lego nerds paradise! It deserves a complex operating panel, if it was to easy to play with that would diminish the experience.
June 18, 20177 yr The slowness of the tracks is spot on for a machine of this size and type by the way, it really adds to the realism - I bet you could set it to work against e.g. a mini 'rock face' made of damp sand or something, and just let it get on with excavating!
June 18, 20177 yr I'm so amazed I can't think of anything to say, so I will just put: But 2 other statistics I'd like to know: how long did it take to build? how much did it cost? (I can't even afford 1 BWE!)
June 18, 20177 yr My first word upon opening this topic: "Whaaat!?" my second word: "Wow!" Welcome here, that is one hell of an introduction ;D
June 18, 20177 yr Welcome! That is quite an introduction. This is one great (and huge) MOC. Very detailed. I hope you did not have to pay retail for all those sets. Are all your MOCs this large? Andy D Edited June 18, 20177 yr by Andy D
June 18, 20177 yr That's a monster!! Incredible! I love how you used (what looks like) the original BWE chassis for the aggregate processing plant just to show how big this is.
June 18, 20177 yr This is probably the best introduction ever! I cannot believe the size of that machine! Incredible build, HoF for you my friend! PLEASE post some photos of the construction, I would love to see them even though I cannot afford a single BWE...
June 18, 20177 yr Amazing model! One question: Are the yellow diagonal elements adding stiffness to the structure, or are they purely decorational?
