The ship is coming along nicely I must say, I am sure it will be worth all the money and work when it is finished!.....Also your admiral looks very...err...unique, with a fine crew to boot! *y*

I felt compelled to post here having been in the space forum for so long, Mr. Phes might get suspicious!

I wouldn't comment in a thread about a ship ebing built in the house I live in if it were not for my incredibly lame understanding of the concept 'humor' :-P

maybe i''l come check it out when it's done in my private jet with my private pilot on my way to greece for a coffee shop meeting. :-P

And maybe I'll overcome my laziness, get my megablocks off the couch and walk to the next room to look at it with my own eyes instead of surfing to EB for pictures! X-D

...

Nope, couch it is! :-D

What an awesome grumpy Santa Claus face that is!

Which theme and sets can that be found in?

I didn't know until you asked Mister Phes

So i did some research on BL and i found out it comes from the castle and vikings theme.

Mostly the latter one though ;-)

I have no idea if it can be displayed at the annual EB event.

And the chances of getting this ship done before the summer (or next year) are small.

Can't order any more lego for a couple of months because of a painfull shortage of money :-P

Oh, i won't be coming to an EB event until i'm done with college.

So you've got at least one year. ;-)

I'd like to get the medic supplies for my surgeon. *y*

At least for the scalpel. *skull*

They aren't available on Brick Arms yet,

but they will be soon.

I didn't get the chance to do much work on the ship this week but today i finished the ruff shape of the part that's a little above and under the waterline. *sweet*

Here's a couple of new pics :

dscn1062.jpg

The red 3x1 bricks are indicating where the gunports will be coming

And again one with my dog to see how much it has grown.

dscn1063.jpg

I'm not fully happy about the stern yet but i need red plates to finish it.

And as always money is a serious issue :-P

Btw those medical supplies are awesome. I hope I would be able to get my hands on them sometime.

Does the upper deck come off? Or does the cabin have a bed yet? Good Job anyhow! :-D

The gundeck will be removable even though i still need to figure out a good way to do this without weakening the construction. So if anybody has any ideas they're always welcome.

The cabins you can see now aren't the ones where deckofficers used to sleep. The smaller one will be the gunner's store room and the larger one will be the sickbay ;-)

I hope your budget problem is fixed soon, maybe Den Haag can help, they've got enough

Den Haag is a bit far away for my liking :-P i'll just try Brussels.

After a long pause, I got some work done on the ship today.

I completely rebuilt the bowsection of the part I already had built before.

here's a pic:

dscn1065.jpg

and here's the old bow for comparison:

dscn1011.jpg

other than that I put in a cannon to see how it works out.

dscn1071.jpg

and here's the gunport

dscn1073.jpg

but I'm not completely happy with the way these are looking

Tell me what you guys think and suggestions are always welcome ofcourse *sweet*

The only thing I worry about with this ship, Same to my own is that, Will it stay together?

Im worried the Floor wont be stable. Since from your Picture it looks like your Just gonna have it on Display, Never able to Play with it, Are you?

Well good anyway, if you really want a Pirate ship, I would make it smaller and more Minifig scale like, Instead of Real life size.

Is there like Cabins for the crew and what not?

Good going!

Its a known fact that when Pirates Captured ships, they headed straight for the Medicene Chest, It was the Prize Booty so Defend it well!

Nice ship lad! She is really massive. I like the color coordination and especially how the ship gets smaller toward the rear. The shape reminds me of the man-o-war they had on Master and Commander when they were looking at a model of the phantom ship.

Does it have a name yet?

-snip-

The gun ports on my Constitution are also 3x3 and i've used different hingplates and covered the whole door with tiles.

Here are some thumb-links:

th_prog3_gunport1.png th_prog3_gunport2.png th_prog3_gunport3.png

The doors are a little fragile, but they hold together real well if you're gentle. :-$

Captain Green Hair would suggest to put tiles at the bottom of each gunport to hide the studs.

This wouldn't be possible on about 1/4 of my gunports so i didn't do this.

These types of hinge plates were used:

These hinge plates are much more discrete, and i think they look better for port hole covers. *y*

For having your decks removable, i suggest only having the portion of the gundeck removable where the cannons aren't going to be tied on.

That's what i did on the Constitution, and it's real strong so far.

I frequently put it end on end to work on it and it never falls apart. *y*

The berth deck on my constitution is going to be easily accessible though cause i plan on having the entire portion under water removable.

Here are some thumb-links of the accessibility to the gundeck so far:

Great work on the improvements of the bow. *y*

I had a very hard time with the headrailing on my bow.

Yours seems to be coming together much better.

Hopefully my suggestions were helpful. :-$

So that would be this one?

To transform into a 50 guns ship later? Very interesting.. 8-?

Don't know how you will manage that as a 50 gun ship but hey. Would 50 guns be a 3rd rate or a 4th rate ship?

Oh and what nationality is it. The good old Great Brickish or the Frogs?I can't wait for pics.

Regards, Captain Zuloo :-D

This thing IS HUGE! great work! be interesting to see your boat side by side with phred's Constitution, then stick a bsb in between them and laugh at how small it looks...

Keep up the good work! i hope those finances come along soon so we can all enjoy this moc finished!

I would guess that the total costs will be around 1500$ so for me it's around 1300?

I found out that lego is a expensive hobby

But it's worth the money that's for sure :-P

Amen to that

Does that mean that you can use it as a play model as well as a decorative model?
