Hinckley Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I got the 7041 Battle Wheel at the LEGO store in Chicago today. Here's a preview of my review (unfortunately I have to run, but will get a full review up tonight...)UPDATE: It's a full review now! with comic! *sweet* The new brown that they made dwarf beards in is now a brick and plate color! *wub* Can't wait to make a building out of it... (it's the darkest brown plate) The new "Supremes" helmet... When I get home, I'll complete the whole review and update this topic. Until then, have fun! Quote
Batbrick Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Thanks Hinckley! I can't wait to see a full review of this set, I love it. That new brown is great too. BTW, do you plan on getting those comics up on the other reviews? Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
Siegfried Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Cool cool cool! I thought there was a new brown coming as the new ship seems to be in two shades. *sweet* Look forward to the rest. Quote
Doctor Sinister Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 You have to run? When there's a review to be done? Dammit man, where are your priorities? :-D :-D Seriously, can't wait. *y* Dr. S. Quote

Corvus Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Wow, wow, WOW! A new brown, and the helmet... *wub* The shooting mechanism... not so much. So far it kind of looks like a Castle version of the flying gun. :-/ Will Quote
iamded Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 (edited) Looking forward to your review! Out of interest, do you post links to other people's previous reviews of a set in your reviews? EDIT: Man, that knight sure is agile, being able to walk across the halberd handlebars like that! ~Peace Edited February 8, 2008 by iamded Quote

VBBN Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 (edited) Sweet! Thanks Hinckley. You did a good job, especially with that raod burn... :-D I look forward to the day they bust this mold. I look forward to the day lego gets sued because a kid shoots one of these at himself and gets hit in the eye. 8- Edited February 9, 2008 by ~VBBN~ Quote
Batbrick Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Thanks Hinckley, great review, I love that new brown! *wub* The wheel itself is fantastic, once the shooty thingy is removed I'll have hours of fun with this baby! Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
salty tbone Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 (edited) Thanks for the great review, Hinckley. This is first I've realized there's a new brown. Stupid me I kept staring at the box and couldn't figure out what color it was (Black? No. Brown with poor lighting? 8-| ) I look forward to the day lego gets sued because a kid shoots one of these at himself and gets hit in the eye. 8- Edited February 9, 2008 by salty tbone Quote
Asuka Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Thank you very much for a comprehensive review with great pictures, Hinckley. *y* I was pretty excited for these new helmets, but now thence I Quote
Hinckley Posted February 9, 2008 Author Posted February 9, 2008 And now there's a comic too! X-D Quote
SlyOwl Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Thanks *y* How does it perform on rough terrain, like duvets and grass? Do the "teeth" parts on the wheels fall off a lot? What is the part the catapult fires? - it looks like a large pearly football *wacko* And finally, do Fabuland heads actually come off? Do you just pull hard? X-D Quote
Batbrick Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 :-D , great comic Hinckley, I think this is the first time Bianca has actually died! Love the trolls "Rawr"ing, though I did notice Bianca called Gavin a "Firend" in there somewhere :-P Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
DNL Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 (edited) Great review and very funny comic *y* DNL Edited February 9, 2008 by DNL Quote
Nebsirob Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Thank you for the great review, and the comic, Hinckley. I just love this pic: :-D I just hope, we will get this set, soon. :'-( Do the "teeth" parts on the wheels fall off a lot? This question came to my mind, too. Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Fantastic review, I love this set, I really want to get. And I did not know their was a new brown colour!! Cheers Hinckley! Quote
Tohst Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Thanks for the pics and review. I've been trying to resist running up to Woodfield to look for this set and you've made it that much harder. One comment: From your review: However, there has to be something cooler you can build with 50 pieces than a goofy, flimsy, illogical half wall. How did it get there? What is it defending? Don't they realize an enemy can just walk around to get past it? You know, there are historical precedents to countries spending a lot of time and money on defenses the enemy then just went around. Can we call it a Maginot Wall? -Tohst Quote
yellost Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 (edited) Thanks a lot for the review. The set looks fantastic, although the handle thing seems a bit too long and not really necessary once that useless shooting stuff has been discarded... But still I love it... Unfortunately, I suppose I'll have to passit, it being an exclusive and all :'-( (which I can never find anywhere...) By the way, is it because it's an exclusive that it's the same price as the Dwarves' Mine? Edited February 9, 2008 by yellost Quote
