February 9, 200817 yr I don't physically own either yet (Cafe Corner has been dispatched but I haven't got my paws on it yet). I've obviously made my choice when I was trying to decide what to buy and picked CC over Town Plan. I did take a reasonable amount of time to consider. Town Plan is an awesome set, it also has that special 50 year anniversary appeal. To me, the biggest advantage Town Plan has over CC though is playability for kids (which doesn't apply in the same way to AFOLs like us). Even although the buildings could be separate sets, there is something very appealing about getting them all in one big set as an instant bonanza. I especially like the 50s style architecture on the cinema. However good as Town Plan is, the modular buildings such as CC just stomp all over it. They are breathtaking. They are on an entirely different level. The size and detail of these sets is astonishing. They are a townie AFOLs dream sets. So my basic result would be: Town Plan (wins as a set for kids and adults who want to play with driving cars around Town Plans :-) ), CC (wins for adults).

I like the cars, esp. the one that looks like an old T-Bird with the fins. I also like the old fashion garage, esp. the pumps and sliding garage door. Features like these are great elements for the Town Plan.
February 10, 200817 yr The only problem I have with CC is the lack of interior, but it's great for a town, that is unless you have any other big buildings to put next to it... 8-| Town Plan on the other hand has some cool details and cars, I also like the fact that it has a smaller service station then the other stand alone Octan one. February 12, 200817 yr town plan is better, because old style gas pumps and cinema. very hard decide I thought....
February 12, 200817 yr If you are unsure of which you like better, ask yourself, which set would you buy if you could have one or the other. I want both for different reasons myself, and am not sure which to buy first. Well, I'm unsure but I've got the two sets, so... :-D Those two sets are really differents from everything. They are two philosophies of the brick. I think that I will go with CC,because I have learn so much with this set! My building skill has grown with it just in a few days! No other set gives me this feeling of "master of the brick"! It's definitively a great set which is already a legend in TLC story. TP is another fantastic set. The gaz station looks so much better than the other octan versions. And the cinema is a great addition, and a think that TLC has never done before. Personnaly, the CC buildings are too big for me, so I prefer the TP scale. But size is not really a matter with LEGO!
February 13, 200817 yr So which one did you vote for and why? I voted for CC, mostly because of the fact that I own one and that if you can build furniture it will turn out real nice, except I desperatly need to get my hands on a Green Grocer when it comes out because the CC looks quite stupid at it's present position with the Market street next to it...
February 13, 200817 yr I have not bought the Town Plan yet, it seems like a really fantastic set but due to my passion for CC I put my vote on that one.
February 16, 200817 yr I vote Town Plan ... the charm of the minifig details; the interiors, the little surprises, have always been one of the top attractions of the sets. CC is a stunning build, but TP has much more personality.
February 16, 200817 yr I of course voted for 10184 Town Plan because I really *wub* *wub* *wub* this set! It's amazing! And it's the best Lego set ever released until now! *sweet* It's perfectly designed and includes very nice details and buildings which are really needed for a real Lego City but weren't released until now (cinema and town hall). *y* And there are so nice interiors! 8- Edited February 16, 200817 yr by Klaus-Dieter
