April 4, 20186 yr @merc Hello, M. de Roseabeau is the director of royal shipyards of Breschaun and a character of Kolonialbeamter, unfortunately we haven't seen him for a while, still, Captain Genaro and me are there to help you and answer your questions.
April 29, 20186 yr A question best asked directly to the Oleanders: what is up with @Kolonialbeamter? He was last online on EB on January the 8th, but has participated in all TRMCAs since then. So he is a) either kind of active or b) in contact with somebody who handles his ships. In both cases there should be some sign of life of him somewhere. If not, he has been off for almost four months now. I am kind of worried...

He often disappears for a couple of months, and has someone else take care of his vessels for the time being. He is online on Skype now, so I'm not too worried.

There is even a ruling as result of this stating that ships of inactive players can continue sailing, but no new licences can be made in name of an inactive player)
May 11, 20186 yr I’ve been busy for quite a few months, but I’m back now, although I probably won’t be able to build anything for a long time. Since there’s a new era and new page for Oleon do I have to submit a character introduction again? Or can I start with a new character, since I’ve been planning on doing that?

You do not have to resubmit anything. If you'd like focus on a new character, that should be fine.

Great to see an oldtimer return, welcome back! You do not have to "repost" any characters you have played in the past, simply use them again. You could also - in addition, not as a replacement - introduce (a) new character(s). The more, the merrier.
May 20, 20186 yr So it's been a while, and life has kept me busy for these past few months so I wasn't able to be on this site often, but I returned recently, hopefully for a long time. I noticed that there's been a new era and I thought about joining Eslandola for a few things that I liked about that faction, but I decided against it. I've decided to start fresh with a new character and my next few builds will be to phase out my old character, who will still be making a few cameos here and there, and to introduce my new character. Anyways, without any more delay, I would like to introduce my new character. Corlys Greystark is the youngest son of Lord Greystark, the lord of a minor province in the northeastern coast of Oleon. The Greystarks originally settled the ethnically Corrish areas, since they spoke a similar language, of northeast Oleon hundreds of years ago after fleeing a faraway land called “Avalonia” due to chaos and war. Since then the Greystarks have been integrated Oleander nobility despite having a Corrish name, with many believing they are one of the previously Corrish nobles from the province of Juniper that was seized from Corrington during the Juniper War, and the Greystarks hold much influence at court. Corlys himself joined the Oleander army at the age of 16 and quickly rose through the ranks after impressing his commanders with his skills and mind for strategy. He was a veteran of the Juniper War, a short but bloody war, and the first war of his military career, and participated in many of the battles during the war, which earned him fame and prestige at court. During the Juniper War, Corlys also met Brandon Lantell, younger son of a larger house in Oleon, who was a commander in the army as well. His friendship with the slightly younger Brandon, who had also gained fame during the war, helped propel him to a higher position in the Oleander court. For six years now Corlys has remained on the island of Breshaun, owning a small estate in the interior of the island which he planned himself. In the old world in Oleon, Corlys has no hope of ever inheriting the family lands back home, but in the colonies any man can rise up to a position of power, be it mayor of a settlement or governor of an island if he knows his way around. Despite having settled down in a comfortable life in his estate, hosting and attending parties of the rich and wealthy aristocracy, Corlys prepares to make way towards his friend Brandon’s settlement, Dragonstone, where he hopes to gain an administrative position of his own. May 23, 20186 yr Welcome back, Brandon. I'm glad we didn't lose you to the greedy greens, and I look forward to your new stories.
June 21, 20186 yr Padre Jules François - BoBS SigFig by Ross Fisher, on Flickr Beloved brothers and sisters, We have been distressed by news of lawlessness, depravity, wanton profiteering and duplicity in the colonies of New Terra. We appreciate that most of you are likely blameless in these matters, suffering from the actions of your fellows while merely attempting to go about your business. Nevertheless, we feel that your failure to resolve these issues by yourselves can no longer be tolerated. To this end we have approached the Order of the Faith and asked for their aid in this matter. They have generously acquiesced, and will be sending a new mission to our territories, with the intent of spreading the faith, civilising the natives, and improving understanding of our benevolent gods. Moreover, they have also agreed to dispatch one of their senior inquisitors, Padre Jules François, the 'Hawk of Hades', who will ensure that the source of this godlessness is thoroughly cleansed. He will be accompanied by a temple notary, Monsieur Gallo, and a personal bodyguard. Their arrival will follow shortly on from this proclamation. We must ask that you cooperate with their endeavour in every way, and do not attempt to interfere. Punishments for those who impede their work in any way will be severe and swift. Signed on behalf of their majesties, King Philip I and Queen Beatrice of Oleon - note found pasted to the wall outside Mayor Sisnera's mansion, Breshaun. ======================================================== Guiscard, a thousand apologies for imposing that beast upon you. Truly, it was the only way to rid Oleon of his depredations. A warning, that man is on a personal crusade, but he has Calida's backing. Do your best to keep him away from our people. With any luck, Poseidon will take him into his watery embrace soon, and his soul will go back to Hades where it belongs. Burn this note. - Postscript to a letter from the Duc de Vele to the Duc de Corban ======================================================== OOC: Hi, I'm Ross. Very new here, but BoBS looked so shiny I just had to touch it... I follow a fair few of you on Flickr, and vice versa, but feel free to add more bodies to the pile send recommendations my way. I was going to do a straightforward young-man-on-the-up-and-up Corrington SigFig, but I saw the Isle d'Or challenge, and I've been reading a lot of Bernard Cornwell recently, and something in me thought it would be fun to play a priest who's really into his torture. Who's first? Oh, I have a ship on Flickr as well. What do I do with that? It photographed really badly and I've got no real attachment to it. But, equally, I don't have the parts to make a full scale build. License? Or burn so that we can't head home until our job is done?
June 21, 20186 yr My heart has been aching day and night for someone who would take up the mantle of the Order of the Faith! It is fantabulous to see this finally come to fruition! Great introduction, and nice little build - I suggest posting it in its own thread and registering it as a free build, which will give you another 10 dbs to get you started. As to your ship (the Papillon, right?), I am not sure it can be licensed (being a microscale vessel), but you could post it (perhaps build a small scene of it docking in port) as the ship that took you to where ever you are going. That will make another freebuild and a nice addition to your story. And going though your (interesting!) flickr, I think you can scrape together the bricks for your free class 1 or 2 vessel. :) In any case, I shall be looking forward to following your stories. Remember that you are always free to make secondary characters, if you want/need a break from the inquisition! ;)
June 21, 20186 yr 22 minutes ago, Bregir said: If you want/need a break from the inquisition Sounds dangerously like heresy to me. We'll be keeping an eye on you... I might revisit the Papillon later. I've already broken it down for now. That class 1 or 2 ship will probably come next. I'll sort out the thread for the SigFig build and registration now. Do you have any examples?
June 21, 20186 yr Welcome to Oleon, Ross Fisher, great to see a new member joining our rank! You've been added to the Estate General PM, too.
June 22, 20186 yr Welcome in brethren of the brick seas and to the glorious and enlightened faction of Oleon! As you probably know, the first class 1-2 ship you license and the first small land property are free, it could be a good place to start from. Currently we are focusing our building efforts on Astrapi and Fatu Hiva, but I think that also Breshaun or the little settlements of Acropolis and Cecropia would be “eager to benefit” of a tough inquisitor!
June 22, 20186 yr @Bodi @KotZ @KeymonusThanks for the welcome. 5 hours ago, Keymonus said: Breshaun or the little settlements of Acropolis and Cecropia would be “eager to benefit” of a tough inquisitor! We will have to take a look.
June 24, 20186 yr Author @Ross Fisher Welcome aboard! Inquisitors are an integral part of the Oleon faith and culture in general and we had been wanting to flesh it out more for obvious reasons. Oh, and hi again friends old and new! Hopefully I can contribute a build or two since I'm having a bit of free time for the next couple of weeks. Edited June 24, 20186 yr by blackdeathgr
June 27, 20186 yr @Ross Fisher Welcome to Oleon, good sir. That's a truly impressive introduction with the letters serving as nice touch.
July 9, 20186 yr To the Governor of His Most Sacred Majesty, King Philip I's, colony of Fatu Hiva on Ile d'Or, In response to usurpations and blatant violations of the Laws of the Seas and the Laws of the Empire of Oleon, we hereby request that the pirate vessel Odin's Scorn be seized by colonial authorities and her unlawful prize, belonging to citizens of the Grand Duchy of Prio, Prince Alex, along with all her crew, officers, passengers, cargo, wares, and other affects be returned to her rightful owners posthaste. This wanton act of piracy threatens the free and just navigation of the seas, and we have no doubt that Oleon has no desire to, in effect, condone acts disreputable towards honest trade. Pablo de la Rosa Consulate General of the Grand Duchy of Prio And now for Oleon's response: Mister de la Rosa, The Empire of Oleon requires that any diplomatic requests and communication from the Island of Romantica take place through the proper Marderian authorities. Unfortunately your request does not meet this criteria and cannot be considered. Jacque Debussy Edited July 11, 20186 yr by Captain Genaro
