Testing the poll

Bob's edit: Important before voting:

To help us resolve the problem, could you use the developer tools:

  • using Chrome: Open Tools -> Development tools (Maj+Ctrl+I), go to the Network tab, clear the queries (second button on the upper left bar), then vote. A query should appear, right click on it and select Copy -> Copy Response Headers and paste the result here. Do the same for Copy -> Copy Response. If you experience the non-working poll issue, the response will be empty.
  • using Firefox: Open Tools -> Web Development -> Development Tools, go to the Network tab, clear the queries, then vote. A query should appear, right click on it and select Copy -> Copy Response Headers and paste the result here. Do the same for Copy -> Copy Response. If you experience the non-working poll issue, the response will be empty.

I voted, and a pop-up said "thank you for your vote", but when I refreshed the page, it hadn't saved - and I could vote again.

Same here, I can not see the results.

seems to work.

I be able to vote 3 times with thanks message at the end.

If you were able to vote three times, it's not working.

Only Bob and my results have been processed.

I tried with both Firefox and Opera, and it did not save the vote. Though, as you say it would seem it worked with Jim and Bob. What (special) browsers do you two use?

Is it a rank issue, where it saves votes from Admins only?

Same here. I only see the result when I open the see results in another tab and my vote is not added. IE 11 on Windows 7.

I'm using Chrome.

We first thought about a permission issue, but that didn't seem to be the case (although it sure looks like it right now).
However, the poll frequently isn't working for me either.

Very strange...

One thing I noticed, when you click show results, it refreshes the poll but "&_poll=results" isn't added to the end of the URL in the address bar - which explains why you can see the results if you open it in a new tab.

EDIT:

Interesting... I was able to save my vote!

What I did is refresh the page just after clicking "submit vote" (while it showed "voteing...").

Doesn't work for me either, it accepts my vote, but doesn't process it. I tested it on:

-Windows 10, Chrome

-Android 7.1.1, Chrome Beta

-IOS 10.3, Safari

None of these work.

Could you try what worked for me? - refresh the page just after clicking "submit vote" (before it says "thank you").

I am very interested to see if it works for other members!

Didn't work for me. After voting it said 'thank you', but it didn't save it.

I used Microsoft Edge on Windows 10

Nope. Doesn't work. I am currently using Silk for Kindle.

I voted for 4 by the way

(What, is it wrong? :look:)

Nope, my page reloads too slowly so "thank you" already shows up :sceptic:

PLUS I can't see the results so kind of defeats the point of the poll.

I don't see your vote, so I don't think it was saved.

That indeed looks like the indication whether you can still vote or not. Apparently your vote has been stored, but the poll hasn't been updated.

I still think it has something to do with the Async call to the server. This caused problems before (the "overlay" problem when browsing).
