Beeyard .... Not beehive. It's very easy to mess up the message here as we pass along the information but SvL didn't mention beehive.

a beeyard, I suppose, should look something like this:

True true true.

While what you save is defintely true, I'm gonna hope it is a traditional hive, and not hiveboxes. Though if they break out the printing, hiveboxes could be cool, as well.

We can just ask @Sir von Lego if we are getting the beehive or the hiveboxes in the beeyard to get rid of ambiguity. :)

A beehive. Probably a printed cone piece i guess.

the introduction of the big cats and all the smaller animals in the cmf series, makes you long for more and more animals. Deer, mountaingoats, beavers, woodpeckers and birds of prey. Etcetera etcetera

Goats already exist, I'd be fine with them just putting the existing ones into new sets. I do think deer and more common birds would be great for natural scenery.

It is the "traditional" one, built by bees and hanging in a tree.

Thanks! Now I don't have to imagine they are squares... So could it be conical or new mould? it's interesting if they do make a new mould for the beehive.

Nice. Thanks for the clarification!

You're right that it's the traditional one. Then there you go, @Borex  -- you've got a beehive!

Or maybe like the friends balloons? In a brown colour and hopefully printed?

Friends? Those are very round, right? I immediately thought about an inverted Angry Birds balloon (where the elongated bottom part is on top) because it can resemble a beehive with the right colour and printing.

 I know right. He did mention new piece... I also don't know why we're talking about balloons. LOL.

Lol. I was just thinking what piece would be a good beehive. Instead of reading back to what sir von lego had said :-s

Yes, this is what I want.  I want it very badly!

Thank you for the great news! This sound like one of the most useful police waves of all time :wub::thumbup:
I was hoping for a puma when I heard about the wave, the bear is a bonus :sweet: If we are lucky it is a black bear, but the grizzly bear from forest police is also fine

While I am also hoping for a Black bear, Brown bears are more commonly mountain dwellers. For collector purposes I can definitely see them going for the new colourway over accuracy.

Aww, I was personally hoping for hiveboxes, considering my family owns one and it's very cool! Nice to know we're getting a new mould, though

Thank you very much for the further information, Sir von Lego! :classic:

I'm absolutely disappointed about the Moutain Police being a summer oriented theme. I hoped for different types of snowmobiles and some cool new stuff. But this seems to be some sort of re-design of Forest Police. So I've got no use for it.

The smaller mining sets won't be that stunning, imo. But since the flagship set includes a small bucket wheel excavator, this set will probably make it into my collection. But I only will judge after having seen pics (and that will still take some months. :classic:

Fair point, Klaus-Dieter. I am very excited for the mini bucket wheel excavator- it sounds different and interesting!?

As of right now, all we have confirmed for the new Lego City themes include mountain police, mining, and great vehicles. I am not interested in the upcoming mountain police sets at all. Every year new police sets are always being made and I really get tired of them. I feel like they're boring/recycled and just not very well designed. Personally I think the best police them was the classic police theme from 2011.

Although I am glad that the mining theme is returning. I don't really have any predictions of what their sets are going to look like but I hope that the miners aren't mining for gold like last time. For example, minerals or fossil fuels such as coal, copper, or silver would be great ideas for these sets. The only mining theme we've had was from 2012 which was 5 years ago but doesn't seem like it.

I've been a fan of the great vehicle series ever since that they've been established. I hope we get a lot of very exciting vehicles for the 2018 great vehicles series. There were 4 or 5 racing vehicles that were included with the 2017 great vehicles theme. More civilian-based vehicles and less racing-based vehicles would be excellent. A tractor-trailer set or two would be totally fine by me since I've always been a fan of those type of sets.

Let me know what guys think of the new 2018 Lego City themes and feel free to comment your predictions!

I like the idea of mining for minerals, copper, or silver.

I'm not really on board with the fossil fuels.  I'd rather see a wave of City sets focused on environmentally friendly sustainable energy sources, like a building with solar panels or a wind turbine.

Overall, I like the idea of a mountain theme, if only because I hope it will include plenty of browns, greys, and greens.  Hopefully the vehicles won't be too garish in color scheme, that's been a deterrent for me with the current Jungle wave.  But the big cats are nice, and I'm very excited to add another to my collection in 2018 (and, of course, a bear).

Firstly now I noticed that there is no single boat in the Great Vehicles theme. And this although these are popular and although there has been minimum one boat in the Great Vehicles theme since 2014. Could this possibly mean that there - against my former predictions - will be some harbor sets in summer?

The only wind turbine set that I know Lego has made was the wind turbine transport from 2009. So I'd be okay if we seen another wind turbine.

What are your thoughts on the great vehicles sets?

To be honest, I don't really collect in the City line, so I don't really have interest in the Great Vehicles (outside of some parts here and there, but none enough to make be buy a set).

What all themes do you like? I use to get Star Wars sets all the time but just one day decided to quit buying them. I guess I just didn't have much use for them anymore. Besides I feel like they're recycled these days. Like they make the same sets over and over every so many years.
