What all themes do you like? I use to get Star Wars sets all the time but just one day decided to quit buying them. I guess I just didn't have much use for them anymore. Besides I feel like they're recycled these days. Like they make the same sets over and over every so many years.

That's true.

I mostly collect and build in the Castle theme, so I am constantly looking for parts that will be useful for my builds and minifigures.  Star Wars is actually a good one for this.  City is as well, with all of the nice animals they have been releasing.

But I am a LEGO fan in general as well, and I like to suggest things that align with my worldview.  That's why I suggested green energy sources rather than fossil fuels.  I would like LEGO to continue their work towards smarter policies, whether it is in practice (they are looking into alternative plastics that will be more environmentally friendly) or in purpose (like creating sets that feature recycling, science, female representation, or other such things to help educate young children).

Castle was one of my favorite themes when it was out. I also liked the Indiana Jones theme a lot too.

For the summer wave of 2018, I think it's sure there will be some train sets, they are in every fourth years ('06, '10, '14). I know that there is also a train set from 2015 but it is only one, not 3-4. But back to the gist... I hope new train sets, a new exploration theme, a Fun in/on/at the ... set, one or two real city sets and an advent calendar.

But I'm waiting for some 2018 Creator news... What do you think?

Same here! :excited:

The theme is probably my most anticipated one, since I have hopeful expectations for it in light of the many anniversaries coinciding with 2018. But I do expect to see similar nods to those events in the City theme also.

Fingers crossed! :sweet:

City summer will be arctic.

Meh. Even the older arctic sets are on the shelves here. Don't understand why they would release that subtheme in the summer while mountain police / mining gets a winter release.

Great, trains confirmed!

Now as far as the return of Arctic goes, I'm kind of disappointed that we won't instead be seeing an all new exploration subtheme, but perhaps a four year recycle is the way they are going to play this out. :sceptic:

Wow, thanks for this. An early return to Arctic is a surprise - I hope they have a new angle and it's not just cracking ice blocks for crystals. Maybe Antarctic with penguins/seals/whales?!

Any details on special non-theme sets like the minifigure collections or gas station/cargo terminal/bus station sets that we have seen in the last 2 years?

I didn't think about the potential for new animal molds, that's something @Roebuck would be most interested in.

That would be only upside to Arctic Exploration 2: Subzero Boogaloo. At the very least they can hit us with the polar bear again.

Oh well. Maybe a hospital / medical theme for Lego City in 2019! It did seem unlikely that Lego City would get a hospital so soon after Lego Friends released one.

There is an orca whale in the big set..

Whales now *huh* The animal-mould-team in the Lege group are really working hard this days! Keep up the good work guys
The killer whale must be eating something; penguins, seals...?
I had hoped for a return of farm and dreamed about a zoo theme, but Arctic( and trains) are fine as long as they bring new animal moulds :sweet:
Hope they go too Antarctica this time, I have plenty of polar bears, but do not mind some more penguins
The killer whale are in both the Arctic and Antarctic so it could go either way....

Sorry, but I can't. It is too early to do that/ know that.

But can you tell some more informations about it, for example, how many sets are there?

Nice! New trains are always welcome, hopefully the passenger train won't be white with a red stripe (again). The return of the Arctic subtheme is a nice suprise as well, since I missed most of the first release of the subtheme a couple of years back.

I'm hoping for a new styled train station, a passanger train, a cargo train with a terminal and maybe a store exclusive. For Arctic, I'm hoping it's grey and blue, and the sets are a little vehicle, a bigger vehicle, a base, a helicopter, an other set and a store exclusive. What do you think?

I think you can readily predict that we will get all of those types of sets. Colour scheme for Arctic will probably be orange/blue as before.  What I really would like to see is more brick built snow/ice scenery, new animal moulds and an igloo would be great.

Brick-built like Lighthouse Point, an actual new mold animal or to preliminary to tell? This actually kind of exciting news.

I wanted to write the igloo...

An Orca? That's got to be one big animal mold. *huh* I'd imagine it would feature an opening mouth like Lego sharks do.

By the way, do you know of any "Fun at the (insert here)" people packs for summer next year, and perhaps do you also know how many sets there are for the train subtheme? :classic:
