A licensed truck could be anything, it covers a wide range (in my opinion). I don't think that it will be similar to the Arocs. A catamaran sounds really interesting, and I'd like to see that rumour come true. A rally car at about 1400 pieces would be perfect, especially if it had a V6 or V8 engine and four wheel drive (with diffs).

Perhaps a rally car would be inspired by Lancia Stratos which had v6 but only rear wheel drive. Remember formula offroader set with only rear wheel drive...

A bit offtopic; winner was one completely white model, right? But if there were no prizes (at least in written form) why content?

@BrickbyBrickTechnic @I_Igor

quote:

"One winner will take home LEGO Technic models worth 1,000 EUR (about $1500 AUD), a signed LEGO Technic 42043 Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 box, and a specialised Winner certificate.

Nine runners-up will each be awarded a signed LEGO Technic 42043 Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 box, and a specialised certificate."

Hopefully the Rally Car won't be RWD only , we've got enought of simplistic sets already :hmpf_bad:

There were. For example, Dokludi.

Thanks for info about prizes. As we write about rally car you know that economics always kills creativity, so I'll be more than happy with smaller Tractor tires in size of Unimog or Tumbler tires...but hope dies at last

Looks like I was wrong  Don't get your hopes up for the rally car. We all know what happens when we keep our hopes up (WINK 42070 WINK 42056)

I always thought these discussion topics were posted too early. Now you guys are starting to talk about 2018 sets before we get our hands on 2017? Do not get your hopes up for anything.

I can understand this, and agree. But since some images of 2018 DC Superheroes sets were revealed, it isn't super unlikely that this list is real.

NASA license . Mars rover Or any kind of cool robotic rover.

I realized this wasn't a wish list but real speculation . Pardon me .

Any large 1:8 or 1:10 4x4 rally car with modern steering geometry and decent gearbox would be very welcome.

I would also like to see a fully working slinger dump truck that can move 1x1x1 round bricks like the BWE and/or 1x1 round plates:

If not next year, maybe in a year to come.

Guys, since we already have this topic, let's try to keep it clean. I know it is hard to so, since we have no real info yet, but still, this is not a speculation, or wish list topic. Please stay on track.

Being very honest, I'm sick of cars, trucks and construction machinery. I would like something different. For example, the world of fair rides provides a lot of interesting machines:

Not to mention how cool it would be to have a Technic roller coaster...

Guys, please stick to the discussion and post only facts or half-proved rumors (at least). I would love to see any attempts to propose which real-live vehicle or machine (or vessel  ) could be used as an original for a certain 2018' set, but it's not a wishlist topic. Please :pir-cry_sad:

Returning to the topic, I'd like to add that all that we have now is the following:

  • "Catamaran yacht" - interesting, will we have a set of white panels for sails here?
  • Rally car - will it have a ton of stickers like a real rally cars?
  • "big giant licensed truck" - that could be 2018h1 flagship, I suppose
  • + some more small vehicles - hopefully just small sets, not only pull-backs

You sound reasonable, without (even spy) photos we can only speculate...or worse make a wishlist topic of it

Where is the 2018 speculation & wishlist topic, then?

Topics like these shouldn't be made until we actually have pictures, members tend to speculate a lot and we get our hopes up and once pictures are released, we have excepted much better.

A google search for "big giant truck" shows mostly mining dump trucks, so why not a liebherr one? Source
