Thanks for the input on the lighthouse question. I think I will let the lighthouse operator have a "second job" of repairing fisher nets, thus strengthening the artisan approach.

If I want to take up a loan for my account - the money to be used on my main character as well as my side characters for builds all over the New World - how would that be handled best?

What I would do, is to build something, then ask for a loan. The BoC can decide the terms, and how you pay it back. If you have something that can definitively generate a revenue stream, you can probably get the BoC to license it.

Sorry to speak for you @Bregir

The rules are open to a fair amount of interpretation, especially with builds that don't quite fit in any of the categories. As long as you aren't perceived to be 'gaming' the system by making a property type something it clearly isn't, you shouldn't have any issues.

Agreed.

Lighthouse keepers got paid to keep the lighthouse lit.  I wouldn't license it as a residence.  People didn't live there and haul oil to the top every day for the fun of it.  In real life, these buildings could be maintained by the local settlement, nation, trade company, etc.  It's a service (artisan?) that provides shipping (commerce?) a safe passage. It doesn't quite fit as an artisan or commerce, but I would say it could be licensed as either.

As long as people remain consistent and not pick and choose based upon parity, they couldn't be accused of gaming.

@Drunknok

  1. Build something you can't license
  2. PM Bregir via the bank of Corrington
  3. Discuss terms
  4. Agree on a loan
  5. Get a large sum of DBs for Licensing
  6. License the build
  7. Pay it back eventually.

(7 is optional )

Hey, are cities able to use the freebuild reporting form? Or just players?

Just players. The freebuild reporting form focuses on what each of us contribute toward the lore of BOBS.

Is there a "time limit" on licensing builds? Say, I build something now, post pictures and a story tomorrow, but only license it in... February 2018. Yay? Nay?

What SilentWolf said. If you're looking for a way to maximize your monthly DB income for your builds, this won't work.

But note that the freebuild reporting form is different than the licensing form. You can report the freebuild for yourself, then have the settlement license the build.

Next round in "Drunknok Da Noob Today": what are PIPs, what are they good for, are they important?

PIPs are Personal Influence Points, and they will be important and good for something ... eventually. :pir-grin: They're supposed to eventually be used in the Adventure MRCA and other things as we get more features of the game fleshed out. For now they just collect and sit.

I'm not gonna promise anything, but we might even go and use some once we start rolling the dice for the second round of the Adventure MRCA ;)

Am I mistaken or are the Sea Rats basically "dead in the water" at the moment?

Your analysis is as always spot on wrong, Mesabi :P

MKJoshA just recently posted a huge pirate ship and has an adventure going, as an example.

And as the mrca results show, there is quite some sea rat activity.

I would suggest you limit your analyses and finger pointing in the future. Or at least that you get your facts straight before "advising" new members. We have no need for fake news in BoBs ;)

I think the Sea Rats could need a little PR boost either way. I don't know how much they cooperate/rival with each other. It would be nice to see them get a little love in some of the next challenges.

@Ayrlego How come Mardier is still "hostile" towards ESL and GAR, after the war has ended?

They dislike you for winning. Hostile does not mean at war, but simply that the very much dislike you. It is an opinion. Their diplomatic stance with you is "peace".

True. Currently it feels a bit like a 3-faction game, with a fourth player sitting at the sideline.

That's the point !

And it is not to be changed, the rats are the wild card of BoBs, not a fourth faction... we love to be at the sideline... at the edge to be truly correct.
