I'm talking about these style of sets...

That's the kind of Creator buildings which I like to see! Or, even better, larger buildings like the Bike Shop and Café and the older Creator houses.

Anyone have any hopes or predictions for summer 2018 sets, particularly for larger flagship sets such as 31011 Aviation Adventures31039 Blue Power Jet, or 31070 Turbo Track Racer:classic:

Yeah. I hope a big building, like 31026 Bike Shop and Café with a more serious colour scheme.

I think the missing 31077 and 31078 will be summer sets and there should be more 2-3 sets.

Well, each of the three flagship sets I had initially mentioned came out in 2013, 2015, and 2017 respectively. For 2014 and 2016 though, the summer flagship sets were minifigure scaled ones, 31026 Bike Shop & Cafe and 31052 Vacation Getaways specifically. If there is a pattern to see there, perhaps we will be seeing from here on a minifigure scaled flagship summer release every other year, with a large non-minifigure scaled flagship vehicle set in between those other years.

I would like to see that too. However my guess is that we'll see the current trend continue for more vehicles with minifigs and more of the modular houses / buildings. I would like to see something that celebrates the Lego Bricks 60th anniversary in some way.

You're right. Unfortunately the lame 3-in-1 modular system is the trend now.

Many would definitely love to see reimagined takes on iconic playsets, or at least sets inspired after or homage takes on them.

How about some sort of 3 in 1 time travelling set including 3 classic minifigs, a Knight, a Pirate and a Spaceman. Each of the sets 3 builds could be inspired by past themes. One each for Castle, Pirates and Space.

Thank you very much for the links, pics and videos! :classic:

The winter hut looks horrible - like a kid's MOC!

It's a pity that the vehicles are oversized for City compatibility. Since they look great. But because of the reason mentioned, I'll pass them.

The Modular Skate House is brilliant! The exterior has many details and TLG thought of a nice interior, too. Sure purchase!

@ Digger of Bricks:

1. I bet that the summer wave will be very similar like the 2017 one: Some vehicles, maybe some animal or robot and of course some modular houses (since they seem to be the new "trend".)

2. Since we haven't gotten any shops in 2017, I hope that there'll be one in 2018: With so many music and sports elements already released, I could well imagine a music store or a sports shop. An ice cream parlor would btw be very welcome, too.

Does anybody know if there will be a creator building in 2018 to carry on the line of high street style buildings they've released the past few years, ie. Bike Shop and Cafe, Toy and Grocery Store, Corner Deli and Park Street Townhouse? I notice that the corner Deli has recently been retired and now Park Street Townhouse is listed as "retiring soon" after only one year. It looks as if they might be scrapping this line of models in favor of the newer modular 3 in 1 buildings. This would be a real shame in my opinion.

I couldn't agree more that this would be a real shame to not get more "small modulars". The huge modulars are outstanding, but these smaller modulars we've enjoyed in 3 in 1 have been great over the last 4 years. They fit into existing town layouts so nicely. Plus, with us having four already, you could even multiply that by three for a total of 12!

They have all been worse than the original 31026, but I'd rather have a mediocre one than none!

I'm not completely up to date on Creator releases, but is there a chance we'll get one in the back half of 2018?

Now all the sets for the first half of the year revealed so let's talk about the summer sets.

I think the preliminaries will be out in the next few weeks but I think:

31077

31078

31082

31083

31084

French toy shop Born To Be Kids revealed some information of a Creator 2HY 2018 set:

31077 Un univers plein de surprises (50€) Release: June

https://www.borntobekids.fr/achat/produit-lego-un-univers-plein-de-surprises_370200

Thanks for finding this @Brick Lover:classic:

Well, Microsoft Translator is roughly translating the name of this set as "A Universe Full of Surprises".

I know the set number lines up with the rest of the Creator set numbers for 2018, but to me, this sounds like a set instead belonging to the sixtieth anniversary Building Bigger Thinking theme. Perhaps this a sixtieth anniversary set for the Creator theme?

Yeah, it's too BBTish name for a Creator set. Anyway, I founded the new Technic sets' links on Hothbricks and I was curious that are there any other new summer wave sets, I searched 'lego 31077 born to be kids' and I founded it. Unfortunately I didn't found any other sets for 2HY 2018, except for 31077 and 42079-42082.

But, as I was looking around that site's inventory for Lego sets using Microsoft Translator, I found that the translator badly butchers many set names in odd ways, though they weren't too off in describing the sets.

If I were to focus on the "Universe" part of the translation, I wonder (and hope) if it may be suggesting that the set is a space themed one. :shrug_oh_well:

BBT? Big Bang Theory?

Found a picture of set 31084, which is a rollercoaster with a Pirates-theme. Details along the track are a big soldier's fort in white and yellow (much like set 6276 Eldorado Fortress), a collapsable skull through which the cart can go, a mini pirates ship (along the lines of the ship in set 40290, but a bit bigger), a tiny balloon cart, a cannon and a few pirate minifigures along with City-like figs (think amusement park visitors). All in all an amazing set! Looks like it could cost around 80-100 dollars.
