M&g@ Bl%ks intrusion!, Be prepared...

I guess I never was that much on topic with a joke before.... X-D

Although I use Megablox in certain occasions when neccesarry, like here, But that much of a threat must be thrown into a safe, thrown into a river, and the river sent into Solitary Confinement in space. >:-)

Well, due to prior idiocy (roughly around 2002) They're too scattered in the large blue bin (TLBB) to be removed at this point because it would take faaaaaar too long.... :'-( i Really don't want to go back to school...how can they seriously expect 2 days be long enough? i'm not rested at all!

I store it in a safe place and never use it. few years ago my "friend" gave me some lego copies. them mixed with my lego bricks, but about year ago I hunt them all, put them to empty bionicle canister and threw them to my wardrope! >:-)

i have chucked my fair share of tyco and MB bricks. :-P all from bulk purchases from CL sellers. :-P i never buy MB before...was tempted to get for my son though...the latest CARS offerings look good. there's doc hudson, the king and LM.

Well, I ocassionally find Megabloks in my collection, but I never thow them away, destroy them, or give them away. No, I actually USE them. Case in point: about a year ago, I got a couple of Blok Bots from someone at church. So, using the purple pieces from one of them and some lego pieces, I built this:

Now, who here dares to say that this looks like a turd, huh? :-P

Yeah, I saw those too. I think that actually, the big Duplo equivilant Megabloks are really nice at times (and, dare I say it, as good as lego?!) and this line seems to be the best example. :-)

Finding one on a day-to-day basis (like in the horror story that started this thread) I just toss them in the garbage.

However, if I have just brought home a pile from a garage sale or the thrift store and am sorting, I pile it up and bag it. I label the bag clearly with: "MEGA BLOKS (NO LEGO)" and donate it to the thrift stores. I hope they leave the labels on 'cause I'd hate to buy a bag of pure MB thinking there might be some useful bricks.

This used to me happen all the time, as my mother frequented thrift stores and would bring home any Lego she encountered. They usually had MBs mixed in. Now, I kept my Lego in a little workshop/shed. So when I'd find a MB, I'd just toss it right out the door. There are probably dozens of MBs burried in the dirt now.

Well, personally I never mix LEGO, Tyco, Megabloks, or Best-Locks together...but I can't blame you for doing it here...LEGO is pretty stingy with the purple pieces :-|

Very rarely will this happen to me, either from buying old sets at flea markets, or from buying in bulk from idiot sellers on BL. ;-) If I could I would destroy it, but I don't have the means to do so, so in the trash they go! *sing*

I only have one MB set, something from the mid 90s. I have the pieces in a box somewhere in the basement but don't mix them with my Lego collection. I generally don't buy large lots of parts blindly, as I like to know exactly what I'm getting and what condition it's in. :-P

That being said, I don't think there is much separating Lego and MB these days as far as quality goes. Lego's quality really went downhill during the last year when they began outsourcing the bulk of their brick production to Flextronics. I've gotten a number of white and yellow Lego pieces of various types that have the same, slightly translucent appearance that MBs have (the plastic is seemingly less dense), and some black plates with slightly rounded edges that makes them look strange. They claim that it's only temporary and was unintentional, but I don't know when they are supposed to have the problems fixed (or if they have already) and it has really put a halt to my Lego purchases lately. :-/

There have also been some issues with the durability of stickers and the material they use for smaller tires for several years now, although those are quite minor compared to the brick problems.

Well i seem to be one of the lucky ones here as i have never come across any megablocks in my BL or Ebay purchaces. If i ever did however they would be straight in the bin. Evil megablocks!!

I'm happy that I have not encountered any of these Mega Blocks yet, but I don't think it is wise to throw the blocks away. They are like used syringes. Some child might find them and get AIDS. :'-(

You have to use your local Disposal Of Offending Megabloks (DOOM) program which varies from city to city.

If I found a copy brick, I must make sure to burn it down, encapsule the remains in led and bury it in a nationally selected toxic waste site. Failure to comply will be handled as an act of treason.

i thought you have to pay people to take out the trash and not the other way round. :-P

Well you know what they say, one man's garbage is another man's - Oh wait, we're talking about Megablocks aren't we? X-D

Batbrick Away! >:-)

Whenever I find Mega Bloks it is straight to the quarantine with them. I personally prefer LEGO bricks because they are much better quality. I bought three Mega Bloks Master Builder Sets and the pieces did not want to go together and after a short time my thumbs were sore where as I built Cafe Corner and Market street right after each other and the my thumbs felt fine. Don't throw away perfectly good Mega Bloks, our landfills are full enough already.

SOMTIMES I use m&g@ bl@ks with my legos like I use m&g@ bl@k shields with my knights but ONLY because those knights did not come with shields and sometimes I'm forced to use m&g@ bl@ks with my legos because I might run out of bricks.I even bought a box of m&g@ bl@ks for $5.00 and I used some of the of the pieces but I am going to hock it for a higher price : )!M&g@ bl@ks are going to be illegal in my city and I slowly replacing the m&g@ bl@ks I used with lego. When I find m&g@ bl@ks in my lego bins I uasally ignore them.

Well, I have a bunch from buying used lots, and I was planning on giving them away. In my eyes, it's just a waste to throw them out. But to be honest, they could be useful in mountain building in making support beams. for the structure. That would be a good way to conserve Lego bricks for better projects. Out of sight and out of mind.

Sell it. I still haven't had any luck in selling some Megabloks sets I picked up in my time of weakness... :'-(

But hey, if there's one way megabloks can benefit a Lego model, it's by selling it to buy more pieces. X-D

Then again, burning it is a proven strategy...
