THE-FORCE Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Holy LEGO! Look at this: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=300406 What a collection! I would die for a collection like that! Quote
Bobskink Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Seems he has everything, exept a life. Sorry for the hard words, but this doesn't look like collecting to me, just buying. Quote
Tohst Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Seems he has everything, exept a life. Sorry for the hard words, but this doesn't look like collecting to me, just buying. Glass houses and stones and all that. I mean, anyone who spends time posting to a message board about Legos should hold back judgement. We all have our hobbies, and if this guy finds enjoyment from his collection, more power to him. It is a nice collection. and he even has the room to display it all. -Tohst Quote
Bobskink Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) Sorry, but that's just my opinion, just like someone else says Amazing! I think it's just strange when obviously you can aford that much Lego, why not make some descent backgrounds etc and spend your money on that instead of buying every set twice. Naith Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 because its his/her money and they can buy what they want just because the shots only shot star wars minifigs and such doesnt mean thats everything this person has in there collection i earn quite a bit of money and buy what ever i want whether its 1 2 or even 3 of the same set anyway back to the topic its a great collection its probably about twice the amount i have of SW now after i had to give some away :'-( Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 That is a very impressive collection, I can't even begin to guess the price of a complete collection like that. Though it does beg the question if they've insured it specially. Quote
captaintau Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Image 29: It looks like he's bought two system-scale ISDs so as one could be an Outrider. Never mind wishing I had his collection, I wish I had his money! Quote
jamie75 Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) Wow, wow, wow, back up here Bob!! I am 32, I have a wife, 3 kids, I work full time, a drummer in metal band, and I have a life!! I also have been collecting Star Wars Lego sets since 99 and I have them all!! I buy one of them all, cause I love Star Wars. I also collect some of the Kenner figs. What is wrong with that?? Think before you insult someone! Jamie Edited February 12, 2008 by jamie75 Quote

With the way he spends it; so does he :-D . In all seriousness, it's a very nice collection but I'm a fan of building not spending. Buying and building sets just isn't that impressive to me. Sure, it's nice, but there is more to LEGO than simply collecting (IMO). If he had some nice MOCs in there to go with all of those sets I might be a bit more impressed. LegoFranks Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Hmmm, I'd like to build that Outrider too, but the ISD is too expensive to buy twice! Mind you, the local department store has three that have been there for AGES.... M. Quote
captaintau Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Think before you insult someone, dick! Whereas I take your point, replying with an insult like that is really productive and mature isn't it? Quote
Bobskink Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Think before you insult someone, dick! Same as above, I've send you a PM, so this tread can maybe get back on topic, but it's very hard to keep my voice down now. Check my sencond reply for some more funded critisims if you want. Quote
natelite Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 i see you found my private collection. :-P no, not really. :-P but i have been spending a lot of time in the basement sorting out some 90s collection: the western, pirates and castle. :-P Quote
mutley777 Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 This guy has a great collection and most of the sets seems to be there but many of the early 99-01 sets seem to be missing. This could be that he has the new X-wing, Y-wing etc so he decided not to display them. I love all the custom minfigs he has *wub* they look great. I wonder if he made them or bought them. The thing that is worring me though is that although i have not been able to display my collection for 3 years now, i think mine is bigger than this collection *wacko* . Looks like i am going to have get one hell of a big new house this year :-D . Quote

JimBee Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) if i had that kind of money... *sing* X-O :'-( |-/ but, he's like me, in a different way. i can tell he's relativly new to collecting legos, so am i, but i think i got one or two older sets. the only difference is... he gets all the sets he wants! not that thats a bad or good thing, but who gets everything they want? anyways, nice collection, thanks for shraing! :-) ;-) Edited February 11, 2008 by JimButcher Quote
