At the bottom of a lot of people's replies, I notice a little area where they have personal info/pictures/messages. I was wondering how you get that little box? 

(EDIT) I see now that they are called signatures, but I don't see an option in my account preferences about signatures.

If you click the down arrow next to your username in the top right hand corner of the page there should be an "account settings" label, click that and you should be able to edit you signature.
