Actually the status bar is the only thing not rendered by OpenGL, so its font is OS dependent and it's size is hardcoded to use the whole height.

tried now your version

i made a small change over that, all fonts using size 15 - humbly saying, i think it is looking a little bit better (but that huge text size below at the status bar still scares! :D )
