I thought about him too, but unfortunately he's not from Europe. @Sariel would also be a good candidate.

Thanks, I'm not sure if my spoken English is sufficiently good. I think there are many European builders with broad experience, good voices and decent English.

How good of a builder you are isn't even important. That's not in the job description. As I see it, there are two main requirements. Good voice, and car knowledge.

Edit: so I'd even dare to say that Eurobricks isn't the probable place to find the ideal candidate, because my estimate is that great talkers are relatively under-represented here, simply because this forum focuses on other things (building talent and written communication).

Coming from the psychogist in the bunch, there is a fairly significant inverted relationship between verbal and nonverbal dispositions.

It may very well be that the ideal candidate isn't much of a builder at all.

If that's all they are looking for then there is no need to advertise the position in the Technic community.  Just hire an actor.  I think knowledge and enthusiasm for Technic as well as respect within the community are probably important.  Depending on what the goals of the program are, it could lend a lot of credibility if they use someone that is well known to AFOLs.

@ThatOneBuilder  and include 9 pieces in a new shade of blue.

No, less than that.More like 4 5l lift arms in a new shade of blue

It wasn't that bad!

I Think Paul Crowkiller Boratko should do this. Large Car Mocs are his special theme so he would be the perfect guy for this.

+1

I would have to agree. Paul not only builds cars, but he also works on them for a living, so his knowledge of automobiles would be there as well. Plus he was a guest on a television show about cars. He also did a little commentary on a Tribute Car that he did.

He has more than enough knowledge about supercars.

Yes, but now when probably crows are gone he is studless

But what can we tell about this "new" supercar? Which make? Mostly certain is the it will have rims from Porsche, evolution of Porsche sequential transmission?...

I don't want to go off topic much (so please don't pick up this line), and while I do believe that Crowkillers would be really an authentic person for this role, but unfortunately there is a bit conflict of interest.

Nonetheless, it is not about to nominate people, but to participate. So anyone, who wants to represent AFOL's interests, here is the possibility!

I hope it has the same tires, but different rims. Similar to the Enzo and 599 GTB; same tires but different wheel (covers in this case). It would definitely give it that extra exclusivity

I understand what you mean, my speculations are mostly bery conservatibe and based on economic point of (their) view and of course phylosophy - less is sometimes more...

...but to 'add' new wheel covers to LEGO production line would not be that bad

After buying the 8010 Unimog set some years ago, @Blakbird and @Sariel made me rediscover my passion for Lego Technic and made me realise that it is not necessary to be ashamed of the fact that I am an adult who likes to build Lego Technic. I cannot think of better Lego Technic ambassadors/evangelists for this exciting project.

He had 2 really bad choices in this case though.

No, he did not. Paul is a very talented builder, and taking the opportunity to monetize his talents is not a "bad choice".

Let me do some some thought bubbles here.

It's a car. Based on the Porsche we can expect it to be licensed. Lots of options there, but who is based in western Europe and has shown a willingness to work in Technic?

Volkswagen group, Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes, Volvo. TLG will want something iconic and instantly recognisable.

So the obvious candidate is a Volvo 240 wagon in tan. Wait a minute.....

So the obvious candidate is a Bugatti chirion. Also an excuse to give us two new shades of blue, not just one.

@veryrusty a BMW i8 would cover those bases

The BMW i8 should have been brought earlier. It's definitely a candidate...or should I say....it definitely WAS a candidate. Too late for the i8 imho. Since TLG had/has a great relation with BWM it makes sense for them to do another project, so maybe there's a successor to the i8.
