Just got back from a successful run to the LEGO Store in San Francisco today!

There was a small rush to the Harry Potter items right as the store opened, too! I'm really happy to see that so many people are as happy as I am to see this theme return!

I picked up the Great Hall and Hogwarts Express for now. I hope to grab the remainder of the sets before the week is up so that I can cash in on the double VIP points promo going on.

I’m happy for everyone who has them but I’m really upset I can’t get them yet. My birthday is the 18th so I wanted my parents to buy me Whomping Willow and Great Hall, but I guess I’m going to have to make do with the brick heads and the Mattel dolls. I really wanted to have the Lego I’ve waited for for 8 years to build on my birthday. :(

Is your name Dudley Dursley

I understand that people want to get there hands on the sets, but they are not limited in anyway so everyone will be able to buy them sooner or later if you got the money..
Personally I always wait until I get a good deal on the sets and save a lot of money in the long run that way

If anyone in the U.K. is wondering about the prices of the Fantastic Beasts Sets (as I was) they are up for preorder on Smyths, the pricing for the whole range is:

£12.99 - Aragog’s Lair

£19.99 - Grindlewald’s Escape

£34.99 - The Quidditch Match

£44.99 - Newt’s Suitcase

£59.99 - Hogwarts Whomping Willow

£74.99 - Hogwarts Express

£89.99 - Hogwarts Great Hall

So that’s £337.93 for the wave

then there’s the 22 Minifigures at £2.99, so that’s £65.78

so £403.71 for everything

I hardly ever pay full price for sets, but I’m too excited for these! Day 1!

So August first will be a busy and expensive day getting all the sets and the figures at once.

I’m in the U.K. so I hope you’re right and they show up early. I’m going to keep my fingers crossed at least great Hall comes out before my birthday. I’ll ring the Lego store and ask just to be on the safe side. Maybe they’ll do an early access.

They won’t do early access, that’s only for D2Cs and we’d know about it by now. The only way you’ll get Sets early is just trying Stores. Lego will NOT sell you the sets before August 1st

in other news, the US August store calendar has leaked, there’s a Vip early access from the 15th, that’s probably the castle.

I posted about that a little while ago. It goes like July 18th one is Bond, July 23rd is Voltron, and the August 15th one is the Harry Potter castle

The (uk) pricing seems very fair especially  compared to modern SW with the Disney tax.

I was looking at reviews of past Hogwarts sets, and I just realized how odd it is that we don’t have Professor Sprout in this wave. We got all the other house heads and CMF Neville even comes with a potted Mandrake, so it’s weird that she and the greenhouse are completely absent. I hope both are represented in a Hogwarts set in the next wave (if there is one).

We should see it announced very soon then, probably towards the end of the month. Interesting how Voltron has been revealed before the DB5, when it releases after.

Target here in Colorado is stating their release date is July 8, so will have to wait another week to see if they have the Hogwarts Express, which was the only set I was unable to order from Lego's online store. May just head down the the Lego Store in Denver at some point to see if they have it there.

Couldn’t find them at any targets in Kansas. Funny they say July 8 when they are advertised in their weekly ad today

Its possible the Hogwarts Express is a retailer exclusive for a different retailer and that's why Target doesn't have it.

It’s listed on their website, though.

Just got back from Target here in the suburbs of a mid-sized American city, and all the sets were gone. First time this target has ever sold out of legos since I've bought from them (roughly last 8 years). I managed to get an Aragog that had been returned to customer service, but I am just blown away by how fast these things have sold.

Is it very noticeable with the hat or is it reasonably covered?

The mouth is visible on the back but that’s it

I love the new McGonnogall minifigure but after having it in person, it would be much better with the new dress piece instead of legs, as much as I love printed legs

Well that's something I can life with. I do think she deserved the attention Trelawney got, I hope she will get the same treatment in the future, but still, she's the best one we got yet.

Do you guys know when these sets will be at Amazon US?

1 month. Though resellers/marketplace sellers will most likely list them on Amazon before that at inflated prices.

If anyone goes to a Lego store today in person, please report your findings it will be greatly appreciated. Oh believe me I'll be a regular at all the three targets near me if I don't find it at my local lego store. Hehe

Went to one, got there way too early. Once they were getting closer to open there was about a dozen people...all headed towards the full range of sets. Had plenty...5 on the shelves of each I think it was. After grabbing the 3 I wanted & browsing the store for a few minutes, the Great Hall & Express shelves were empty.

What’s going on with the Hogwarts Express is really odd. Has anyone found it in a physical Lego store? Also, will I 100% get double VIP points even on backordered items?

Yep. I was a bit worried as I checked S@H last night after hearing of the quick back ordering & there was nothing but a blank white box under the Express. I was delighted to see it on the shelf though.

I’m happy to report a successful trip to my LEGO Store. I picked up the entire line including the Hogwarts Express and the BrickHeadz. They only had 3 each of the Hermione and Ron/Dumbledore BrickHeadz but I was lucky enough to snag one. The manager randomly asked if I cared about the condition of the box for the Hogwarts Express. When I said no, he offered me 100 extra VIP points to exchange my pristine box for a slightly dented one. I jumped on at that opportunity!

Man! What a nice treat that was. Jealous.

Not very surprising, but nice to see the sets are selling like hot cakes  I would say it is 95% sure we are getting a new wave next year
Most likely only sets from film 3 and 4 (but pretty sure we get a chamber of secrets set in a future wave)..

With the attention to detail they put into the minfiigures and sets I can't believe they just gave Mcgonagall a totally uncovered alternate face. I mean It's right there in plain sight....

It looks like she is also possessed by Voldermort

Just got through building the Great Hall....wow. They really outdid themselves. The minifigures are all fantastic(despite the peekaboo of McGonagall). Quirrell is top notch, Voldemort side is lovely. The new & vastly improved Sorting Hat is awesome.

The build is pretty nice as well, with a nice new assortment of pieces. I can’t wait to build the others.

I am also British, also annoyed about them not coming in July over here, however what I do know, is that ranting about it on this forum isn’t going to change anything, so I reckon we get over it and just look forward to August 1st

today on amazon.uk you can buy the sets.

No you can’t, you can pre order them to be delivered on the 1st of August (no point because I’m going to London to get them) but you can’t buy them today

I just went to my local Target, and found absolutely nothing!   Not a single sign of any HP sets, not even empty spots on the shelves :sceptic:  Maybe I'll have better luck next time...

Did you not ask if they were out the back??
