Terrasher Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 What does it mean to be put on the waiting list at a LEGO Store? Are they going to reserve the next batch of sets that arrive or do we give them our phone numbers so they can call us when new Falcons are in? Quote
Brikkyy13 Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 My tracking finally updated!! Estimated delivery Tuesday as predicted. Quote

Tuesday is better than backordered. The manual is ridiculously unmanageable due it's sheer size but so much better for it! It's a thing of majestic beauty. And so is it's homage to Ralph McQuarrie Quote

Awesome! I was getting a little worried though cause I had mine shipped on the 15th and Australia Post had been holding it like they do with all S@H orders until today. Also if you're planning on keeping one sealed to resell later down the line I wouldn't even bother, this one will be around for ages (I'm guessing it'll be like the Death Star) and will never appreciate as much as 10179 Quote
roadstermatt Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Finished building mine last night its a great set really pleased with it Quote
shotgunmcos Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Got a huge box delivered into the office yesterday. The looks I got carrying back to my desk. Its the LEGO box within another larger box flanked with large bubble wrap. Impressed with the care LEGO took over this. Now to get it home, store and plan the build and display.. Yay! Quote
Grizzlygreeno Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Hi All, A slightly controversial subject, but I'm keen to get peoples thoughts on it within this community... The new UCS Falcon has of course just been pre-leased to VIP members, some lucky enough to get their hands on one, LEGO have of course promised more sets for the general public and to fulfil the rest of the VIP members, however what really has grinded and wound me up (that's me being polite), is LEGO allowing the sale of 3 per house hold, and you are then seeing adds on eBay, Gumtree etc with 3 boxes of Falcons stacked and with a buy it now price of £1000 per unit or if not double or more, so essentially not even looking to keep one, just out to rinse people clean. When thousands of people are trying to get their hands on this model to build, own, display, I don't understand why this isn't monitored or controlled, it's difficult of course, but new boxed items that have just been released straight onto another market for more, it's heading into the same territory as buying gig tickets from Ticketmaster etc! I've reverted to building MOC's of UCS models such as the 10134 Y-Wing simply due to the costs involved, seems a shame. What are people's thoughts? Regards, GG Quote

All in the Reflexes Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 I hate scalpers with a passion but its their money and if LEGO let you buy three at once then you cant really stop them. I think this set will be available for a long time, hopefully like the Death Star which was pretty easy to find all through its life before it was re-released. Scalpers will probably do their best to buy all the stock that becomes available just to bleed us like they did with 10179 but hopefully if it has a long shelf life it wont be too hard to pick one up any time and the scalpers will have shot themselves in the foot with sets no one wants as LEGO sell it cheaper Quote
BigEl Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 This is specifically about the UCS Falcon, so why not posting this in the Press Release Falcon Thread.... Discussions about the set such as this have already taken place in why too many different threads, we dont need more to bloat the topic more and more. Regarding the topic... yes, it was a bad decision by Lego to allow more than 1 sale of the set per buyer and its even worse that this is done during VIP Early Access, since its not even the normal release yet after which you could argue that its okay for people to buy even this one multiple times because the amount of availability is stabil over several years. axiom Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Damn, mine's been "in warehouse" since yesterday. Quote

My girlfriend called a LEGO store yesterday and asked about it. Apparently if you are on a waiting list, they will notify you when a new shipment comes in and its your place in line. They will then hold it for 24 hours before moving to the next person in line. They also said people would get 3 chances before they were removed from the waiting list, so if you can't make it the first time they notify you then you will get 2 more chances to pick one up. Quote

Lobot Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 @Grizzlygreeno - I've merged your threads with this one to keep the forum tidy. We don't generally encourage discussions about resellers as it can be quite a contentious topic, but I'm equally frustrated myself with TLG's dismal handling of this launch. Hopefully it won't be repeated anytime soon Quote

kiwiatlarge Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 I despise Day 1 scalping. I know the buy and sell of products is a contentious issue regarding long term profit and investment of all limited edition hobbies, but this Day 1 ebay business only serves to deprive genuine owners of something they have set their heart on. I especially despise it with sporting events and concerts. You can't even use the argument of "investment" or "I got six months of joy out of it, and now it's time to move on"... and then to throw up comments like "its a buyers market", "something is only worth what the buyer is prepared to pay".. that's a cop out. The number of times I've heard of fans trying to get tickets for an event which has sold out in minutes, and they can't get through because of website traffic, only to see tickets online on auction sites for triple the price within an hour. It's greed. Quote
diaclonex Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 (edited) Mine was delivered today. I got my order in on launch day about an hour and a half after it started. Order was back-ordered until yesterday. Was updated yesterday as in Warehouse and later yesterday was scheduled for delivery today Edited September 30, 2017 by diaclonex Quote
Cyanide-Tipped Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 (edited) Spoke to a Brick Specialist at the Lego store and they mentioned their store their got UCS MFs in but there wasn't a line or anything. This surprised me. Maybe the way to go is store rather than online. Edited October 1, 2017 by Cyanide-Tipped Quote

Those kinds of people are absolute scumbags and I really wish LEGO could take this alittle more seriously and maybe leave the limit to 1 and then after an year or so, so actual fans can buy one, they can raise the limit to whatever and have those scaplers buy the leftovers. Aside from this rant I have an important announcement concerning the falcon waitlist. I would like to inform all that the waitlist will NOT guarantee you in buying the falcon. The actual reason for the waitlist is for LEGO to determine how many falcons to produce in the next wave. From what I heard from my friend, don't get the set from your nearby LEGO store but get it online because the stores won't get any falcons until next year. But if for some reason you don't like the simplicity of online buying, you'll have to be very patient till next year if you want one. Aside from this, don't worry guys if you want one you will get it, LEGO did say that they will make enough for every true fan and they will keep their word. Actually they will only call you to notify about the set, they will not hold the set for anyone. The set is only first-come-first-serve for now. If you live far from your closest LEGO store, you will most likely not get one. Quote
Markalus Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Does anyone know when TLG will send out the black VIP cards? There was no mention of it when I received my package. It seems they are flying by the seat of their pants here and the whole VIP card thing may have been given low priority. Quote
blbills Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Does anyone know if the manual is available in a digital format anywhere? Quote
