joebiwankenobi Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 (edited) I haven't bought a lego set in 3 years now, and was hoping this would meet my expectations. They actually surpassed what I expected with an interior. To counter Han's statement this model really looks like much and definitely has it where it counts. I've finally got a more than reasonable excuse to get out of the lego famine. It's going feel good to back. Also, I'm dying at the limit five per customer Edited August 31, 2017 by joebiwankenobi Quote
LOBOT-OMY Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I so want to post a link to this new MF in this scapler's eBay ad !!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-Lego-Millennium-Falcon-10179-Ultimate-Collectors-UCS-New-Sealed-Millenium-/172845251411?epid=26003294859&hash=item283e613b53:g:7KkAAOSwt0FZBZ96 Quote
Ellisss_2 Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Looks amazing, not surprised it is made up of 7500 pieces, the box looks awesome! Not sure whether I will buy though might break my bank. Quote
BrickG Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I love it. Buying one or two. Big problem though... Moving back to London... No real room to put it! Darned tiny London places! Quote
All in the Reflexes Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 RE: The disappointment in figures, not to worry guys, going off Lego's timetable we will get another Falcon in ten years time based on Return of the Jedi so expect Lando and Nein Numb Quote
Hobbythom Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 A thing of beauty. While I don't feel the slightest urge to own it, I can't wait to see the parts selection. Quote
aukevin Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Love it. The only way I was going to replace my UCS MF was if this one had an interior and it does! The outside looks so much better too, not so many of those antenna pieces! The only disappointments for me are that for a set of this price I wish it had every character from ESB that was in the MF, that would be Lando, Luke, and Artoo included, and also I wish it had a top hatch for those Lando and Luke figs. DrasticPlastic Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 (edited) The black stripe on the mandible is...bizarre. Edited August 31, 2017 by DrasticPlastic Quote

BigEl Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I am seriously considering to buy the set when it comes out, but will wait for the first reviews in mid september when the VIPs get their hands on it. Will be interesting to see even more angles (for example a close up of the engine exhaust) and how the internal structure is designed. Wasnt one of the flaws of the old UCS Falcon that the mandibles werent strong enough integrated in the core of the build and thus would start to dip over time because of their weight and forward length? Quote
ScottishDave Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I like this model a lot. It's a huge improvement over the original UCS model. I don't plan to buy one - I already have a heavily modified original UCS model with full interior and accurate details. However, I feel inspired to get hold of the new pieces and start improving my model all over again. There are some excellent ideas in this set. I especially like the smooth cockpit corridor tube, and I think the gun turret platforms look great. Quote

The interior is a really sweet touch, though I would have wished for it to be a little more extensive. I really want to see the interior skeleton, and get a look at how the frame compares to the original... Lego can't win! When the Super Star Destroyer came out, people were complaining about the exclusive bounty hunter figures it had! Well of course they can, they can make money and now they just lost mine by not including any molded creatures or new mini figures, of course people who cannot afford will complain, but people who cannot afford will always complain if they want it. However if you can afford but don't want it for certain reasons of quality, that loss is worse Quote

Yes, it most certainly was. I do hope they've fixed that issue. Quote
dhumahn Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Plenty of steals here price-wise....why do I have to live here in Australia where its $1300?? :( Quote
Flossie Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Damn you Lego! Will have to save up for this and try and not tell my wife I've bought it. How easy do you think this thing of awesomeness will be to attach to a wall? Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Great set ...I like the two crew from the old and the modern trilogy! Quote

Paul5451 Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I'd really love to buy the 75192 Falcon, so when I was in one of the local Lego stores in Toronto today, I asked the manager what the Canadian price would be. He was curious too, so he looked it up for me. It's $899 Canadian. With tax in Ontario, it's $1016. That's a bit out of my price range; maybe 75192 will be discounted later on. I'm happy with the 75105 for now. This must be Lego's first $1000+ set in Canada. Even the store manager was wondering how many people would buy the set at that price ... Quote
Whovastron Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Quick question, is the 14th VIP date the same for the UK? I only ask because the last time I was ready to queue in the early hours for a VIP release was for the Helicarrier, and was frustratingly dissapointed when i found out we got it two days later than most other places... Kodan Black Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Wow, just gorgeous. I've been following all the speculation and this surpassed what I expected. Just amazing. So if I get that company bonus in November ... Quote

My main annoyance with the old design was the feet; the combination of 1x2 Jumper plates & 4L Grey bars was incredibly fragile and I lost count of the times that I had to re-build them! The new design appears to be a vast improvement, so hopefully that won't be an issue. I'll be interested to see how the internal frame is constructed, especially considering the increased part count and partial interior. I didn't have any problems with the Mandibles, but I only displayed mine for a few weeks at a time. Quote
thg Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Wow, what a set... having bought the Porsche last year, I didn't think I'll buy another huge set in a while - I... need... to... resist... However all those years I almost regretted having bought the TIE advanced back then instead of the Millenium Falcon. Especially seeing the prices going through the roof, once it was sold out. Will this set be a limited edition, too? Quote
JGW3000 Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 75192 already being listed on that auction bay place for outrageous prices. $2499.99 with free shipping. Sucker born every minute, I guess. Quote
Scarilian Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 (edited) Figure line-up is underwhelming, especially with no dual molded legs and the lack of printing on all of the arms. Should have been; Young Han, Young Luke, Young Leia, Chewie, R2D2, C3PO, Old Han, Old Luke, Old Leia, Rey, Finn, BB-8 The inclusion of two creatures from the upcoming movie seems odd, depends how they are received in the movie i guess but not interested in them. As for the set itself, disappointed that they did not have some form of larger interior - instead its basically paying for an exterior and tiny rooms - though i guess the structural integrity would not have been as strong with an interior.
