schraubedrin Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 So i recently found out there's a giant Technic Dinosaur in the LEGO House in Billund. Not coming near Denmark any time soon i try to find information and pictures about it online, this is what i found so far: in this video from LEGO it's said that it was built in collaboration with AFOLS: In an article from promobricks one can see some of the subassemblies of the outer skin: The inner structure seems completely black, i wonder if there's a steel substructure: (taken from this article at zusammengebaut) And finally here's the highest resolution picture i could find from brothers brick: Is there anybody on the forum who has some more information about this? (Is this even the right subforum?) Quote
Sariel Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 (edited) "Collaboration" meaning that they've asked Ambassadors for some suggestions as to how to build some parts of it, such as teeth, eggs etc. I'm unable to tell how closely they've followed our suggestions but now that I look at it, the eyes seem pretty close to a design I've sent. As far as I know, the final design was all done by Lego and assembled by their workers. They might have just refined a selected few of our ideas. Edited September 9, 2017 by Sariel Quote

Sariel Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 I don't and their job is to look nice, just like with the other two dinos. Quote

Pawel, from pictures here it looks like from old movies T-Rex (from 60s or 70s) and today we know that his body was in line with horizon... Quote
Ivan_M Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 I wonder how many bricklink orders they had to make I wouldn't mind picking few yellow curved panels, maybe nobody will notice once it is crowded Quote

I hear something like this every day so you made me lough, no offence. But you are right this bricklink shop that had this order had a whole month of work processing this order(s) Quote
Jim Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 For those of you who haven't seen the LEGO Technic Dinosaur at The LEGO House, here are some detailed pictures. Quote
Jockos Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Now the biggest challenge is to reverse engineer it! Quote

agrof Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Holy Moly - I didn't realized how big is this from the pictures previously! Questions: Do You happen to know how many pieces does it include? Does it have a steel frame as the usual big LEGO sculptures, or do the Technic pieces actually do the job? In second case I am super impressed. Quote
JGW3000 Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 My thumbs hurt just looking at it - imagine having to insert all of those pins, over and over again... Quote
aol000xw Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 (edited) Wow, the patterns of repeating structures are mesmerizing. Edit: is the tongue motorized or something? There is some kind of pulley there.... Edited June 5, 2018 by aol000xw Quote
aol000xw Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Honest question, brick built sculptures are kind of easy but how do they dust that thing? Technic gives a transformers vibe to it. Quote
doug72 Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 So thats where all the yellow beams & parts have gone !!! Quote
Baelyrn Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 I hear it feeds on people who complain about color vomit. Quote
