Pontelli's Mayor, Lady Asma April, had emphasized the importance of tradition.

Hence a new bagpipe factory has opened in Pontelli to produce a famous Eslandolean traditional instrument: the bagpipe.

The factory itself is quite large.

On a sunny day most workers prefer to carry out their tasks outside the factory buildings.

The exact production recipe for bagpipes is, of course, a secret.

However, it is clear that wood is required to prepare the pipes.

And sheep skins are used to create the bags, which are then painted.

The pipes are also painted in black. Hence the saying "I see a brown pipe and I want it painted black."

All this is part of Lady Asma's aim to make Pontelli proud again.

C&C welcome.

(And you will never guess where I spent my holidays :pir-grin:)

And the title of "Most Chaotic Evil Character in BoBS" transitions to you, Captain Braunsfield. Kudos

In all seriousness, great build, I really like all the steps in the assembly process.

Oh, the classic pirate set look of this! And the little houses...

Great to see hear more Eslandolan culture. You should start a traveling bagpipe band and travel the world to perform. With a regiment that show of their drills to the music. Just in case, and to show Eslandolan discipline

Great Idea :D On the small building - are those the dirtiest 2x2 tiles I have ever seen or is that the lighting? If the first idea is correct - they look great on a roof! If the second one is correct - ignore half this line :D

A bagpipe factory in Eslandola, what a strange nice idea!:pir-grin: I'd like to know what our dear corlander fellows may think of this.

Great classic looking build and I like all these minifigs.

Lovely build! For some reason the word "quaint" comes to mind. The essence of a small colonial factory, and it has a classic '80s Lego feel to it. I love the little details throughout the build and the various activities illustrated.

But I really have to question the bagpipe as a traditional Eslandolan instrument! :pir-grin:

Not quite sure if I got that...

Thanks - maybe it is enough to "see" these guys.

Truachesh settlers will be happy to hear that proper pipes can be found outside the mainland. Does the factory offer repair work on older pipes?

Yes, sure. Just come over to Pontelli.

The sun was coming out again while I was taking the pictures. And the black tiles are reflecting the surroundings. I agree that they look strange...

There is a bit of dust, however...

I think bagpipes are very Eslandolean. Has anyone else shown them so far?

"quaint"? :pir-laugh:

80s?  :pir-look:  It should have been 90s!

Ask Asma April.  The bagpipe is very Eslandolean!

Captain Braunsfeld, if I'm not wrong Ayrlego has used bagpipes for his highlander regiment. Not that it should matter, an instrument shouldn't be exclusive to one nation. Great build by the way, it's certainly an idea I never would've thought of.

You're right. I meant '90s. The decades all just run together for me at some point.

I think that happens to the younger generations. :look: :pir_tong2:

Nice quirky build, Captain!  I also was unaware that bagpipes were an Eslandian instrument. :pir-laugh:  I'm quite interested in knowing what part exactly they play in Lady Asma's master plans... :pir-grin:

Very nice build, Captain B, the yellow works looks quite neat with the other colors you've got going here, and the idea is most ingenious as well! :pir-grin:   The layout of the buildings is great too, and for some reason I'm really liking the pose with that soldier on the horse there! :excited:  And, of course, those bagpipes are always awesome

Thanks for the info.

The factory is willing and able to provide bagpipes  for Oleon and Sea Rat musicians too.

So very Eslandolan of her.

As has already been stated this is a great classic feeling build. I am liking the recent attempts in that direction from various builders. I like how you did the entrance with the bushes, path and gate. I also like how the black tile on tan plates turned out for the one roof. The small outdoor oven is great and the chopping scene is inspiring. I shall have to use them in the future. I must ask why there is a cannon on top of the bagpipe factory? Is it to announce when shipments are ready? :pir-tongue:

After Pontelli had been raided the city has made efforts to increase the protection.

More soldiers - more cannons!
