Posted September 14, 20177 yr A lone Avalonian champion attemps to brave the harsh world of Nocturnus, fighting off all kinds horrid creatures, to please his lovers father . A romantic story of sorts, which unfourtuantly comes to a rather nasty end... For the CBC - RPG category Inspired by the game "Dark Souls III" the build is not based on any location in particular but the area "The High Walls of Lothric" was probably the biggest inspiration. It also doubles as a ruin in Nocturnus. An absolute pleasure to build and would have to rank very high on my favourite builds list. Unfourtuantly I am suffering from writers block (an thing I haven't come across before), which is not great as I have a convention in 3 weeks and I have hockey tournuments on both weekends to make matters worse. So after a couple failed concepts I don't have much of a idea of what to do. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Hope you enjoy and C&C welcomed Edited September 14, 20177 yr by The Maestro
September 14, 20177 yr Spoiler YOU DIED Sorry, couldn't resist! Jokes aside, This is really good stuff! The composition of the central tower, ruined wall on the left and gate on the right pleases the eye. Your signature 'stack of rings' tower wall looks more natural than in previous builds. Neat texturing of the walls and the base! Clever fig posing and flagged spear also add to the composition, and I hadn't noticed the knight next to the door at first. Overall, bravo! Suggestion: I don't know what kind of parts budget you have.. but here's an idea: a spacious market hall* with a battle scene/raid going on. Flooring, 4 stalls, 6 or so pillars, a roof, many figs. Large scale, small scale, richly decorated or just civilian. How about it? *example I saw on holiday Edited September 14, 20177 yr by Exetrius
September 14, 20177 yr I wonder why you joined Avalonia, because this must be an all-out Nocturnian build! The ramshackle tower and ruined walls create a dark but lovely atmosphere, perfectly suited to the Darklands. Both the irregular, dark tan base and the dark red roof deserve a thumbup too Also, just because I can't comment on one of your builds without remarking that there's too much texture in there: there's too much texture in there to my liking!
September 21, 20177 yr Awesome build, your best shaping and texturing yet! I love the weathered look you have captured, and the ruins are particularly convincing in your signature style. I love the solidity of the round tower, which you do not always have in your builds; by that I mean that this tower lacks the half-stud gaps between round cross-sections that appear so frequently in round towers like this one, making them seem less solid and more rickety. I approve of this one. The lighting is a bit bothersome to me, but the build itself, the fig posing, the limited splashes of color, the irregular base, are all superb!
September 28, 20177 yr Great looking build! The dark tan works very nice in combination with the grey. The ruined left part is an excellent idea, having an arch like on the right side wouldn't have worked as nicely I'd say. Nice shaping of that roof too
September 29, 20177 yr Very organic and realistic shaping. I really like the section on the left with the broken wall.
October 1, 20177 yr Fantastic build indeed! The amount of detail/texturing is breathtaking and perfectly captures Dark Souls 3 Lothric's look. I'm also especially impressed by the shaping, specifically the left side (that's not to say the right side isn't as equally as nicely shapened ). All around, excellent stuff and a fine addition to the darklands!
October 2, 20177 yr Masterfully done! The colors, shape, and textures of the tower all look amazing together Superb base and fig posing too!
October 3, 20177 yr Your best build yet.... Amazing.... Nothing to dislike or change here... just admire it

Thanks mate, I liked the sound of a market however probably outside the limit of my bricks On 15/09/2017 at 12:31 AM, TitusV said: I wonder why you joined Avalonia, because this must be an all-out Nocturnian build! Thank you Titus, and maybe one day I will build something non textured, if I will ever stoop that low On 22/09/2017 at 8:10 AM, Henjin_Quilones said: Awesome build, your best shaping and texturing yet! Thank you HQ, yes I decided to make this tower slightly more solid, as it fitted the scene better and I am glad you approve. The lighting was a bit of an experiment, and I can see why it put you off. Nice shaping of that roof too Thanks Puvel and I agree, two arches just wouldn't look as good. Plus I probably would have ran out of peives on the second one On 30/09/2017 at 10:17 AM, Blufiji said: Very organic and realistic shaping. I really like the section on the left with the broken wall.
