Ok, I think I have it 🤔

This is how the bottom plate looked. I had already got rid of the hinges but still wasn't right

So, I went ahead and stripped all the red 2x4 away. This is how the middle panel looks. The connectors were moved down one stud.

On the back I added 3x2 plates to connect the panels together.

You're going to need a couple of these modified plates

And add them here, to that black technic frame.

I added a couple of 3x2 plates to the underside for strength.

Now time to attach the bottom plate to those clips and after that is done carefully push the plate from the underside to attach to those modified plates (this keeps it flush and straight).

After this add some plates to that black technic frame to enable the attachment of @ClassicLook engine mod.

Now when you add the engine mod you can see it is flush with that baseplate. I didn't have enough 1x2 light greyish blue plates but you would add these all along the bottom and the engine mod will sit perfect 👌🏼

Hi there.
I just have acquired the MF and the stand.
Do you think i can put  the MF on the stand as soon as i can during the building (so just after hading the 4 rooms on the main structure) and continue the construction with it on the stand? Or this would make the next steps of building to difficult?
Because i know it's a bit touchy to put it on the stand when it is fully build

PS: excuse me for my bad english writting

I'm not sure it would be very comfortable to build it while on the stand, because there are parts of the construction that have to be placed below. My suggestion is to build it in the normal way and have someone helping you later to place it on the stand.

Nice solution @Brickdad :)

Thanks Lock. Several things bothered me about this build but that sag was the biggest disappointment. Can't remember off-hand who I saw in this thread had flattened theirs but was determined to have no gaps there.

While I'm at it, can I just say I love all the mods you made to yours. I will be replicating your rear panel solution when I get to that. This whole thread is a gold mine and full of wonderful ideas and inspiration.

Maybe I did in one of my mods, but a lot of time passed and honestly I can't remember. :)

I cannot remember who asked about changing vents rotation angle.

At beginning the Lego solution didn't bother me but, since I almost finished all my mods, today I decided to give it a try and this is the result:

11310-MF-75192-Ventole-01s.jpg

The difficult part was modifying the baseplates so the vents didn't raise by one plate (only the top sides ones, the lower one don't have this problem) and I think the result is more than acceptable.

The best thing was I didn't have to apply any trick, every angle can be achieved with regular connections:

11310-MF-75192-Ventole-02.jpg

The rotating element isn't mandatory but it adds up to stability.

If you're interested in the LDD project you can find it here (among all my other mods): http://www.lemonskin.net/io/11310#ventole

Question for @Lock, I'm not at this section in my build progress yet but just wondered if any extra pieces were needed to be bought to enable this mod? Want the right panels to mirror the left so I can show that other room as well as correctly angle the vents. Thanks!

So many years passed but yes, for sure I needed to use extra pieces, only I cannot remember witch ones.

I’ve made the panels mod, so to show the extra new room, you can download the LDD/Stud.io file here:

Hi Lock, thanks for quick response. Ok, will cross reference the LDD with what the set has. Thanks!

It could be, but I’m not sure as I’m on mobile and can’t check, I also included a list of extra pieces in the file (like pink colored). Sometimes I did, sometimes not (since the official death of LDD I didn’t project mods anymore). Try opening it and see if there is extra stuff in it.

I'm essentially just mirroring the left hand side I suppose (albeit with some exterior panelling and greebling differences).

Things of note about this model:

  • meant for the Brickvault MF by Marshal Banana but the LEGO 10179 has docking rings of 12 studs wide so I'm sure some smart people here can adapt it for the official 75192 or 10179 :)
  • based on
  1. said MB's version (although really just the wheel/tire, chain linker thingies, technic bricks and the flexible tube (of which I'm unsure if it is needed at all)
  2. some other variants I found around the internet (no idea which ones exactly, I looked at so much it's all a blur)
  3. my own interpretation of earlier posted picture
  • has not been built with real bricks yet
  • don't mind the clipping of the tube, flexible tubing is difficult to get right in Studio 2.0
  • you might have to fiddle with (or even clip) the claw that connects the tube ends. I'm thinking of using a LEGO 3mm rigid tube cut to 1L

edit:
I'm on v2 now, using a bush instead of nothing (v1.1), instead of a 2x2 plate (v1) behind the 8x8 plate
This thing really needs to be built but tbh. the whole MF will take me years to collect all bricks for, with my monthly budget...
