Hi !

It's been 2 years since I did my last UCS creation. Quite a long time !

Here is my new UCS model : a UCS Jedi Interceptor. And as it is yellow, it is Anakin Skywalker's Jedi Interceptor. :)

I wanted to do that starfighter for a very long time. Maybe when 10215 was released...

But the Jedi Interceptor is not easy to make with Lego bricks. I struggled a lot to do the wings right. Especially the foldable wings.

They had to make one when fold, and have appropriate stops when unfold.

When the wings were designed, then I did the cockpit. And I think I got a bit lucky to get something as close to the real starfighter, as the shape of a Jedi Interceptor is really tricky to make with Lego bricks.
I think I ended with a build with a nice flow. And by luck, DBG areas match more or less the metal reinforcement on the windscreen of the real ship.

A few more pictures.

I am really happy with the final result. I succeed in including all the details I wanted. I think the shape of the model is also very accurate, etc.

Of course, as you can expect from most of my MOCs, the model is modular.

Here are some more informations about the model :

- About 1,050 elements

- 33 cm long

- modular design

- as many printed parts as possible, for better details

- some parts had to be painted for the dark red version. They will be switched ASAP.

- foldable wings. With locking mechanism for the lower wings as friction was not enough. I wish Lego were producing a plate 1x1 with clips on 2 sides.

- full interior with cockpit, seat, etc etc

- easy removable windscreen

- and of course the UCS display sticker

I hope Frousmoul and I will be able to release some instruction for the model.

Oh, one more thing. Before you even suggest it, I did Obi-Wan Kenobi's Jedi Interceptor too. :)

Excellent job man, I love that you built both Obi-Wan's and Anakin's.  You captured the cockpit shape very well, and your wings turned out perfectly.  What parts did you have to paint? And can I see the cockpit interior? :)

Thank you guys. :)

The long wedges on the cockpit, and dark red 2x2 wing plates.

Control panels, levers, etc. and seat with armrests and head support.

And the view in the front is not obstructed by any part.

That interior looks great, well done! And I hope they make the pieces you need. :)

Worth the wait on these models! I always wanted to see a UCS model like this, and I have to say, you nailed it! The cockpit is incredible! Probably the best part of the build for me.

I will wait with great impatience for the instructions for this beauty!

Wow, looks great! Wings do not seem so hard at first, but I can understand the struggle you had! And also nice cockpit!

Looks great, love the cockpit! I wish TLG would release more UCS sets per year by tackling smaller ships.

More prequel trilogy UCSs would be neat too, instead of "re-releasing" OT sets.

Thank you all for your messages. :)

It is cool you like the cockpit. Cause it was not an easy part. :)

What an impressive build! TLG should definitely release such a UCS set featuring both fighters…

Well, back in 2010, 10215 didn't sell that well. So no matter how cool a Jedi Interceptor can be, I am not sure TLG will release such a product some day...

Not to mention that 1 set with both fighters would do a 2,100 part set. And probably a 250€ MSRP. That is quite a lot for 2 ships which are virtually identical.

Reproducing them as MOC is much more expensive, though.

There is a lot to do with prequel movies. And smaller ships/vehicle are what I do for some time : UCS AAT, UCS Hailfire Droid, UCS Sith Infiltrator, and now UCS Jedi Interceptor. I have to say that I had a lot of fun doing these designs. :)

Looks great, will be adding this to the list of instructions to get from you.

what set is the red droid head from, or is that a decal / painted?
