Sascha1 Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Hello, if exiting please only short answer where here or on other site to find, thx I'm owner of the (now) old MF UCS modell and want it to upgrade to the new MF modell. I have DL'ed the new manual and the part list printed but because of time problems (new born son & new house is build) I'm asking if someone has a maybe excel list which parts I can use from the old modell and which parts of the new modell I must order via bricklink and others Both modells I don't want in my new room ( sorry but one MF UCS is big enough and the other UCS modells I own need also big room in my working room and maybe can someone tell my the costs for the parts round about and if the new MF window would be a problem to order from LEGO THX Quote
Wonderpants Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Doubt Lego would sell the printed cockpit piece by itself (think there's licensing issues, for example), and I think it and other pieces unique to 75192 are going for big money on bricklink, even before you get the time and money involved in buying the 2k+ extra pieces. All in the Reflexes Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 If you go to Rebrickable.com you can compare 10179 and 75192, apparently they only share 30% of bricks and the new MF has 5k bricks unique to the set. As Wonderpants said, the new cockpit elements are eye watering prices so it might be a while before you can get them. Quote
lostcarpark Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 You could extract the parts list for both from Bricklink and compare. I think 75192 is structurally pretty different internally to 10179, so I'm not surprised Rebrickable doesn't find a lot of commonality, though I wouldn't be surprised if there's quite a few where only the colour differs. You could possibly find a half way house, where you update the most noticeable parts, like the docking rings and the cockpit tunnel but leave the bulk of it unchanged. I suspect the cockpit pieces are going to be expensive for a while, though you should eventually be able to get them from Lego's part replacement service. Quote
SergeantP Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Most of the internal parts of the 75192 are pretty much the same as in the 10179. The only difference are the colours. Most of the 10179 are mainly grey (lbg and dbg) whereas the same parts in the 75192 are tan, brown, green, dark tan... That is why imho only around 30% of the parts match... Quote

I am Bricklinking old Falcon to new Falcon myself, and comparing the parts lists (from rebrickable.com) there's A LOT of parts which have changed colour. I believe this is because sets these days use coloured pieces internally to help you locate and orientate, so it's been modernised. Still, about 50% of the pieces are not common between the models so be prepared to buy a lot. I'm buying approx $350 worth, not including the 6 new designs which I'm waiting (and hoping) to appear on Lego's Bricks & Pieces site in the next few months. Quote
bmerigan Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Here's an update on this topic from someone who has almost finished Bricklinking the additional pieces to upgrade a 10179 to the new 75192 Millennium Falcon. My final parts orders are arriving in the next 2 weeks. I've spent $430 including postage on the additional pieces and have everything taken care of except for the main cockpit window. I asked LEGO when / whether the new cockpit pieces would be available to purchase and they told me that LEGO are not licensed to sell Starwars parts by Disney, only Starwars sets. Therefore the unique Starwars cockpit parts will never be available to buy from LEGO. That news made me very, very sad... Here's some of the swaps you can do to save a heap of money buying the new parts that are in this set. 8x Shield Rectangular with 4 Studs Swap 30166 ($10) for 30166pb01 (Nexo Knights print) ($1) - save $72 2x Dish 6 x 6 Inverted - No Studs with Handle with SW Millennium Falcon Cannon Window Pattern Swap 18675pb14 ($51) for 18675pb02 (from Tie fighter) ($1.30) - save $100 1x Dish 6 x 6 Inverted (Radar) - Solid Studs with Radial Millennium Falcon Cockpit Pattern Swap 44375bpb08 ($55) for 44375b (not printed) ($3.30) - save $52 I replace many printed pieces with home printed stickers on plain Lego pieces. I also intend to paint the front cockpit pattern on an unprinted clear dish in the next couple of weeks. Quote
cavegod Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 you can get the rare parts from TLG only by telling a white lie. Yon cant buy them but you can get them without buying. Quote
bmerigan Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 (edited) Well sure if I say I bought the set and it's missing that super rare piece. I have wondered about doing that. I wouldn't call it a white lie though. It's straight-up scamming a company. I know it's going to cost me dearly but nope, can't do it. Edited February 5, 2018 by bmerigan Quote
That Orange Thing Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Please do not steal from lego. Lying to them by saying a piece is missing is just hurting genuine customers who take advantage of the excellent customer service on offer. Abuse the system and it could easily be taken away. Cavegod should know better than telling people to do that. Quote
