Posted October 19, 20177 yr I've had this MOC together for some time now, but I just made a eurobricks account. I hope I did this right. Miua was created to be something of a self-MOC for my girlfriend. She never grew up with Bionicle like I did, but I thought she may like the rich lore. She's not crazy about it, but she's not disinterested, in fact she encourages me to continue MOCing, which is nice. And even though she's not as captivated by MOCing and Bionicle as I am, I wanted to include her in some way, and Miua (MYU-ah) was born! I made sure to have her input on every step of the process, just to make sure she'd like it. Blue was picked because it was her favorite color, and I had a blue Rau. She didn't really like the Rau until I told her the power it grants the user, as she loves languages of any kind. In fact, Miua got her name from a combination of Mizu and Agua, the words for water from Japanese and Spanish respectively. Another of her interests is fantasy of all kinds. Hence the sword and daggers. Unless I giver her some kind of crossbow in the future I don't plan on giving her any weapon that fires. I like this as it represents both her interests and provides a clear contrast to Zeren, a MOC designed around sci-fi soldier characters and firearms. Anybody who plays Soulcalibur may recognize some of these poses, as many of them were ripped right from some of the characters. October 19, 20177 yr Interesting build. I especially like the torso construction. A part of me can't help but wish there were a little more repetition of some of the G1 motifs here. Say, for instance, if there were some way to echo the segmented design of the lower legs in other parts of the body. I recognize, of course, that this is a tricky feat with G1 parts, which often lack matching motifs and textures, or only match parts with very particular and difficult-to-use proportions. Like, the Hordika foot or the narrower style of Toa Inika chest plate have a similar segmented look to the lower legs of this model, but I can't think of anywhere you could include parts that big and bulky that wouldn't mess up the nice proportions you have here. Another way this model could maybe be improved is to add some sort of additional accessory to give her a little more personality. I have to admit that one of my own struggles as a builder is liking to build humanoid figures with nice proportions but then not having much idea of how to make them stand out and not just feel like mannequins. Sets that succeed at this often tend to either add some sort of armor or accessories that change the silhouette or the way the character interacts with the world around them. Like, say, a big shoulder pad on one shoulder, or a pair of wings, or some blades/spikes/fins. I'm not sure if any of these kinds of ideas really suit the type of character you were setting out to create here, but it's something to think about.
October 19, 20177 yr Author I hadn't given this MOC much more thought since I first posted it. I've since changed the mask to a Modalt painted Rau, but other than that it's about the same. I'll definitely look into it though. Maybe some kind of pet or cloak to complete that fantasy look. thanks Quote 4 hours ago, Aanchir said: Interesting build. October 21, 20177 yr Nice MOC, and interesting story behind its creation. As for the poses, I'm not 100% sure, but I think the poses are from Sophitia, Xianghua, Cassandra and Taki, yes?

How's it going Zork, haven't talked to you for a while it seems.
October 21, 20177 yr I've been doing well, thanks for asking. ...though I have to admit I can't seem to recall where we've met before. Could you maybe help my memory? As for the pictures, I have to admit that I can't sort all of them though. I recognized the Taki and Xianghua poses, but I'm not sure which of the other poses belong to Cassandra or Sophitia.

You made my self-moc back on mocpages. Cheesy Q.
October 22, 20177 yr Ah ha ha, I had a feeling that it might be you, Cheesy. Nice to see you again. It's been a while, hasn't it?

October 23, 20177 yr Despite having it still in my forum signature here, I kinda gave up on MOCpages, as the last time I used it, it was kind of a hassle to work with. Plus I've been super-lazy with MOCing or taking pics of MOCs (I should do so some time soon though, as I did built a bunch of MOCs that I never uploaded) due to RL.
