Cadder Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 We have a [KEY TOPIC] Official Lego sets made in LDraw , and a [KEY TOPIC] Official LEGO Sets made in LDD .. Is there/will there be a [KEY TOPIC] Official LEGO Sets made in Stud.io ? Stud.io has the nifty feature that you can import an official set.. but all it does is import the correct amounts and numbers of parts from the Bricklink Cattledog. (which in itself is a time consuming job taken care of..) Given the ease of import and export to/from both LDraw and LDD, I think it may be possible to combine the entire contents of the other Key Topics into one. Anyone have the appropriate amount of cloud storage and time to import/vet? (just askin', not volunteering) Quote
legolijntje Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 I don't quite see the need for this, as stud.io files are LDraw files in disguise. So... You should be able to just take any LDraw file and import it without any problems into stud.io. But, I don't really use stud.io myself, so maybe I'm missing something? Quote
Calabar Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Hi Cadder, indexed topics are decided and managed by the staff, let's explore the case to see if there is the space for such a topic for stud.io. Quote

Stud.io has been significantly updated now and I had a blast using it, even if I didn't do much with it. I think make a topic dedicated to this as well, LDD 4.3.11 has almost never had an update for over 2 years now. Edited February 11, 2020 by Perry Quote
TeriXeri Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 (edited) I like the import set feature a lot, hopefully if they keep adding new parts, there will be less errors of "missing" things, especially non-minifigs. Just a great feature to plan alternate builds and such from existing sets before breaking them down. Edited February 11, 2020 by TeriXeri Quote
a guy from somewhere Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 so ive just downloaded studio (from BrickLink) as my friend recommended it. im trying to get set 70260 in the building 'world'. I would like to get 4 of them, and put them in a square, that's literally it. but I cant find out how to get an official set on.i can build it, but there's no way im gonna be building a 4500 piece set on there. apparently I need to download a set file from eurobricks, but I cant find anything here. can you guys give some pointers please? im just trying to get the model fully built into the studio so I can fiddle with it, mod it and move it about. help? Don't you mean 70620? That one is available in the main key topics. Once you have the file downloaded you can import into Studio Quote
StickleBrick1 Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Is there a stud.IO file for 10228 Haunted House for 10228 Lego Monster Fighters and does imports include stickers too? Sorry I'm new to this digital lego community so I know nothing about Stud.IO and official sets and importing. I just want to try and make digital Monster Fighter dioramas Quote
Cyborg_Samurai Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 yeah we reeeeeeeeeeeally need a studio page. I also find it rather annoying how LDD only gets archived because LDD will have porting problems occasionally here and there Quote
1963maniac Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 I'm late to this party. I am an MLCAD user. When a Studio user has the ambition to model a Lego set, I would sure like them to have a place to post their file. So yah, there is a need for this, because Studio users are probably not going to create files to fit the OMR requirements. Many times I have downloaded .io files from Rebrickable and elsewhere and converted them to ldraw for my own purposes. I'm not complaining, I don't mind at all. I am just glad they are available. I can take a file and organise it into a logical building instruction. Some are not so capable, but they can build that all important digital .io file. So, let's give them a place to post without a lot of requirements! Quote
Calabar Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Unfortunately at the moment there is no one available to manage the topic. To say the truth, there is not a staff for the digital section able to decide and realize. About the "requirements", they are an important tool to maintain a good quality of the topic and the models inside it. That's why we wrote the guidelines for the Official Sets topics: an unmanaged cauldron where to put .io files of dubious quality would be quite unuseful and unsatisfactory for users. Quote
Styphelus Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Are the digital models dead? Mecabricks seems to have a ton of newer official sets, but there's nothing in the pages here at Eurobricks. Studio.io is way better than Mecabricks, so why is evryone using it instead? Quote
La Chupacabra Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Did anybody have seen 75313 studio.io file? Quote
BrickWild Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 I've got a collection of stud.io files on my Brickshelf page. Quote

(sheesh) 6.5 years on, and Stud.io is quite mature, and 15 shades of orsm to play with. I, personally, use it for 100% of my MOC planning and design. (GBC Modules etc) so.. I'll repeat the question in a 2024 context: Is there (on Eurobricks or *anywhere* publicly available).. a collaborated repository of official sets in Stud.io format? There are some I'd like to mod/build/replicate/MOCcify. Edited May 27, 2024 by Cadder Quote
missouri_bb63 Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 (edited) I only use stud.io as well, and have uploaded all my official sets to the ldraw Original Model Repository (OMR) for the past few years. I convert them to LDraw before uploading, but if I remember correctly, one can now also upload them directly as .io files. LDraw Official Model Forum Although I use studio, the LDraw OMR is my main source for official models as they are also made to a certain standard (Official Repository Standard), and members are very helpful in pointing out mistakes and correcting them. Generally, there is no issue importing the Ldraw files to Stud.io, as long as all the parts are available in the stud.io parts database. If not, one just needs to copy the missing parts across to the Studio custom parts folder. The forum is very active and includes B-Models and Alternate Models. In addition, as one needs to make a note of which parts or stickers are missing for each upload, there is a good chance that someone see that and will make them for you. There is also a dedicated request thread for parts. There is also the LDraw OMR database which currently has more than 1800 models OMR Database, but it has not been updated in a while. The forum is the best bet, especially for recent sets. Edited June 2, 2024 by missouri_bb63 Quote
lego3057 Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 (edited) Hello Is there any place where one can download custom bricks for Studi? For example I saw that someone has already the printed parts of MclarenF1, set 10330, which are not avaiable in the default sudio pallete. There are a lot of Studio Lego Sets in Bricklink gallery, though not downloadble, for some strange reason. Maybe Lego is afraid of copying their models. Edited October 5, 2024 by lego3057 Quote
ILoveSeatron Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 I like to use bricklink studio, but one thing I find annoing is that as of 2024 (not sure about earlier ), Studio will not connect anything to monorail frame parts (the 4x20 base part) or monorail motors. This is really annoying to me because I love building monorails. It seems they have not made connection points for those parts yet. I find that building something physically first makes it easier to build with studio. Probably because then you know where all the parts need to go, and what parts you need. As for loading actual Lego sets on studio, I didn't know you could. Quote
