Need help: Rubber tire issue

The rubber Lego uses for their rubber tires (as well as things like Bohrok krana) is pretty good. But it does tend to swell up and make the tires too enlarged and loose to fit when it gets too much moisture in it. As tends to happen when, say, we're dumb kids putting the tires in our mouths.

I was wondering if there was a way to shrink them back down.
