Batbrick Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Great first part! I love the humour here, Shwartz is looking pretty cool and egotistical as usual, I like the space jacket touch. Awesome to see G-Bot again, I was hoping tihs line would continue, and the "manufactured offspring" joke was hilarious. Love Shwartz rather deadpan look at the camera too. RLF (Part 2) is now up!http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=456231 Wow! That was quick! , poor Shwartz gotta feel sorry for the guy. The ship disguise was great too, looks quite cool right next to the space police ship, I imagine some trouble may be up ahead... Batbrick Away! Quote
JopieK Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 very nice ;) Now hopefully the space police will be indeed very blind ;) Quote
Inertia Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 The Space Police won't be happy with that! Love this one, especially the return of the Space Police that'll be coming up soon! Quote
KDog Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 The Space Police are too awesome for me not to find ways to include them. Quote
KDog Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 I can't see an extra ship. Can you? LOL, nope, just the Gamma-V and that funny-looking tent next to it. Quote
Adam Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 And I thought robots are smart!!! Then you've got a lot to learn, junior, but you've got all the time in the world to find out. Quote
KDog Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 RLF (Part 3) is up. Hope you like: http://drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=456763 Quote
Inertia Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Hilarious, if Space Vixens is inappropriate, then what about those women? Great job with that one, can't wait for the SA to show up though. Quote
KDog Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 Poison Ivy, Princess Leia and Agent Trace are the Space Vixens! Quote
Adam Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) Even with the prospect of Pot Roast, I'm keeping SV on, not dumb Robo-veggie-turd! Great, as usual. The storyline of RFL has really given me a belly laugh, and I can't wait to see what's next. Oh, Space Police, where art thou? Edited September 4, 2008 by Adam Quote
Batbrick Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Yay! Veggie Tales reference, my little cousins used to love that show! Great ep, I love Shwartz' coming around at the end. Batbrick Away! Quote
Inertia Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Poison Ivy, Princess Leia and Agent Trace are the Space Vixens! Ah... I have to get used to the Holograms... I love the space veggie, it looks really hilarious Quote
KDog Posted September 5, 2008 Author Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) Ah... I have to get used to the Holograms... I love the space veggie, it looks really hilarious The holograms are a little bit difficult of a concept to work with, but having Schwartz own a TV that projects images in 3-D and lifesize on the living room floor gave me an opportunity to use minifigs from all themes. The last time he used it, he was playing a video game in which an Imperial soldier was duking it out with a Fabuland monkey. I don't know how well it came across in the latest comic, but Schwartz's cat and two of the baby-bots run through the hologram of the Space Vixens, causing it to break up; Princess Leia briefly disappears, as does Poison Ivy's torso, and Agent Trace's speech gets all messed up. I feel kind of bad that the first "appearance" of the Arachnoids in the comic is as a robo-space carrot, but they'll get a proper introduction eventually. I think the only other faction that has yet to make an appearance is Spyrius. I've got ideas for them, but I'm saving them. Even with the prospect of Pot Roast, I'm keeping SV on, not dumb Robo-veggie-turd! Great, as usual. The storyline of RFL has really given me a belly laugh, and I can't wait to see what's next. Oh, Space Police, where art thou? Around the corner? LOL, you have to understand, the prospect of pot roast is a powerful thing for Schwartz, as his love of food is a driving force in his life. He likes the ladies, too, but this is pot roast we're talking about. Edited September 5, 2008 by KDog Quote
KDog Posted September 5, 2008 Author Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) Since the next comic won't go up until Sunday at the earliest, let's play a little game. What is this? Long-time readers with good memories should be able to figure out what this is and what it means. Edited September 5, 2008 by KDog Quote

Nice little creation, but I find the torch doesn't quite fit, and it'd be nice if Jeff was gray instead of white. However, since there were no gray classic space figures, this is understandable. So, nice little MOC. It also means that Shwartz has a date with Blacktron... Edited September 5, 2008 by Adam Quote

So, nice little MOC. It also means that Shwartz has a date with Blacktron... Well, Adam's on the ball! Wow! He remembered when Valkyrie made the date and told Schwartz to meet her by the Captain Jefferson Dash memorial on Europa. That storyline starts the week after next. Yeah, I wanted to make Dash gray but I didn't have the right pieces. I could come up with better torches, I suppose, just not sure what. I will admit that I don't work that hard on quick constructs I need to make to suit storylines. It's more about getting it done quickly and on time, and spotlighting the actual Lego Space ships and bases. I mostly like how this came out and don't mind the white figure because it stands out. If anyone has any torch suggestions and I can do it with the pieces I have, I'd like to know, since I'm probably gonna photograph this story tomorrow. Quote
KDog Posted September 7, 2008 Author Posted September 7, 2008 Just an FYI, the site that hosts my comic, Drunk Duck, is not working properly right now and may not be fixed today, so it's delaying the new comic I have ready. On the bright side, I had a lot of free time yesterday and took all the pictures I'll need to complete up through the 100th comic. (We're at 90.) Quote
KDog Posted September 7, 2008 Author Posted September 7, 2008 Finally! RLF (Part 4): http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=458018 Quote
Batbrick Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Great stuff! I just knew those Space Police would come! I laughed at the bill collector joke at the end, that just strikes me as plain Shwartz. Love the robot interactions as well, though I'd love to see some more "robot" humour like when they first met. On the bright side, I had a lot of free time yesterday and took all the pictures I'll need to complete up through the 100th comic. (We're at 90.) Great, looking forward to them as usual. zero1312 Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I didn't expected Schwartz have such an ingenious idea. Quote
Adam Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I didn't no Shwartz was so smart! Well, when it comes to bills... I would have done the same thing. Quote
