CP5670 Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 (edited) I haven't been following this regularly but just spent a hour reading the last 30-odd comics. The whole fictional universe here is quite impressive and has a lot of depth to it by now. I love the humor everywhere. The Ronald profile was one of my favorites. Does he play with Lego too? I don't think anyone gets it. Instead of explaining it now, I'll address it in a later comic, because I think I'll get the most humor out of it that way. :) All I can say is, when you realize it, you're going to go, "Ahh, I see." And hopefully laugh. Galanos and Schwartz immediately comes to mind there, but they're mixed up so maybe that isn't it. Edited December 15, 2008 by CP5670 Quote

Batbrick Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I don't think anyone gets it. Instead of explaining it now, I'll address it in a later comic, because I think I'll get the most humor out of it that way. :) All I can say is, when you realize it, you're going to go, "Ahh, I see." And hopefully laugh. I think I may have got it now, but won't say out of possible embarrassment and possible spoilers. Anyway, great new comics! I think Vanilla Snowball (still the best cat name ever btw) one is my favourite so far. The cameo of the moon crawler Kitty was genius, even if it only looks like a cat because you mentioned it (yes, you're crazy). But the real gem was Verwaand's little "What!? Even the cat gets higher billing than me?" Poor Verwaand, nobody likes him... This is another favourite. As much as Friendlich is a good guy I just can't not see him as a badguy now that he is teamed up with Verwaand against Valkyrie. Of course DACTA is as ignorant as ever: "Let's roll some clips!" I think it should be a continued staple of the series that Friendlich has all the bad luck. Oh, an since you may not notice since I double posted, I read through all the comics and posted a reply in your other Lego Space topic. Batbrick Away! Quote

Batbrick Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I was hoping to see G-Bot in the advent calender and you didn't disappoint. I actually expected to see a cameo by his "kids" but I laughed at the "there's not that much of a difference, really" I was really happy to see Scouse as I thought you'd forgotten about him! Good to see you're up to speed in your own continuity, it was hilarious to see Magnetica again, given how much Scouse preferred her over her actually real sister. Batbrick Away! Quote
KDog Posted December 20, 2008 Author Posted December 20, 2008 I keep churning 'em out, baby! Lego Space Advent Calendar - Dec. 19: http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=498030 Quote
Batbrick Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Yes! Amarillo! Good update info as well. I'd completely forgotten about Churchill the robot, you'll have to give him a one-shot one day. All though with all your plots planned out I'm sure he's in one somewhere Of course DACTA manages to show off their incompetency once again, I think this is another of my favourite Calender ones you've done so far, what with me being somewhat of a geek with these kind of things the concept of aliens getting old after a while is genius in my books! Good job on getting back on schedule too! Also did you want me to go ahead and post my next review bit in your other topic? It's lain dormant a bit but I'm not sure on triple posting? Batbrick Away! I hope to be able to sit down and really read through the threads this weekend. Been so busy making comics, working, etc.! But only four more comics, then a break! Quote

Been so busy making comics, working, etc.! But only four more comics, then a break! Gotcha, thanks! Anyway, an awesome new advent calender comic. Great job on getting this far KDog, be proud of your efforts! Awesome to Dash here, I loved that he doesn't even say a word. Plus you took advantage of DACTA's stupidity again I can guess three of the top four: Valkyrie, Shwartz and Galanos. No idea for the other one though. Batbrick Away! Quote

zero1312 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Oh yes the twins. The Lego version of a failed DBZ fusion. Quote
Batbrick Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Of course, the twins! How could I forget? *slaps forehead* The info box came in handy this time seeing as I never could tell which personality belonged to which for obvious reasons. The fact that you brought the "argunig with themselves, or something" made me laugh, I never could tell! Batbrick Away! Quote

Batbrick Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Yes! Finally we get to my favourite character and naturally you didn't disappoint. Of course DACTA repeatedly shows their incompetency, I loved how calm and badass Valkyrie was here with her little "Awww" Plus I recognised Walker, part of the old school Blacktron club, stealing the ride! Only two more to go now and then a welll deserved vacation! Batbrick Away! Quote

I always forget to reply about the comic though... Quote
Batbrick Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Yes! Galanos is in! Haha, loved his little quirks here, especially since you've only recently been finally giving Mikey Galanos his own stories. Hearing all this made me realise how much of a nerd and polar opposite of Shwartz he truly is! And of course he gets some action! Can't wait for the final one which will actually come for me at Christmas tomorrow! Thanks again KDog and well done on getting this far. Batbrick Away! Quote
