KDog Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 Lego Space Advent Calendar - Dec. 24: http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=499989 Whew! Quote
Batbrick Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 As Zero said, the best for last KDog! You make a very good point here KDog, we never have seen Shwartz work! Slackerdude Baby! Love the ending montage, I was hoping for something like that, I spot a few not in the calender, is that Luscious there too? Anyway, hope you had a great Christmas too KDog! Batbrick Away! Quote
Inertia Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Gotta love the Advent Calender, it gives us much more of an idea of what the character's in-depth backgrounds are and what they do. Apart from being Assigned to the Barstool. Quote
KDog Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 (edited) I'm back from my vacation and so is the comic! Happy New Year, everyone! I'm going to post a few one-shots before we get into the next big storyline. Here's the first. Hemming the Trousers: http://drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=501529 Edited January 3, 2009 by KDog Quote
Inertia Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 We're once again back to Henry and Agnes! They're very funny, but it's not clear, do they work for the SA or are they just normal civies? Anyway, Hemming the pants is a pretty funny title, and when Schwartz said about the warm sleek body, it was hilarious. Quote
KDog Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 They don't work for the Space Agency. They're just Schwartz's neighbors. Quote
Inertia Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 They don't work for the Space Agency. They're just Schwartz's neighbors. Oh, okay, just Henry bares a striking significance to one of my Space Police II minifigs I made up. Are we going to see them again? Quote
KDog Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 Oh, okay, just Henry bares a striking significance to one of my Space Police II minifigs I made up. Are we going to see them again? Oh yeah, they'll be in it. :) Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Have a nice break from making comics? Or was it a case of constructing, photographing and editing one giant buffer? Great to have the comic rolling again Quote
KDog Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 No, I did squat during my break. But I'm back in the groove of photographing already and hope to be working a bit in advance. Quote

KDog Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 I think it's time for the next epic storyline, don't you? METEOR MADNESS II (Part 1): http://drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=503908 Quote
Pencoin Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Hahaha, story wasn't funny but your drawing skills are! Could you link to your other comics? Quote
DJ Force Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I´ve seen worse drawings before! You´re really gifted. I especially like your way of coloring with pencils. Something I tried many times and failed equally often. Quote
KDog Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 (edited) Hahaha, story wasn't funny but your drawing skills are! I'm not sure if you're saying my drawing skills are hilariously bad, lol. I guess I was going more for cute with this strip; people who have cats might relate. And thanks, DJ Force. I have trouble with regular color pencils, too. That's why I use watercolor pencils on bristol board, sans the water. The color blends better and allows for better shading. Edited January 7, 2009 by KDog Quote
Pencoin Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Nope, it just looks a bit weird. Reminded me of Simpsons. Also I do have a cat. Quote
KDog Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 Meteor Madness II (Part 2): http://drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=505421 Quote
Pencoin Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I can relate to that as well. Well done on make beach house appear. Quote
KDog Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 The beach house set is handy, as you also get instructions for the cafe and an apartment building. Expect to see all three. :-) Quote
Batbrick Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 So sorry I've taken this long to reply KDog, I've been on a two week holiday at my power-free shack. Again sorry, but I was delighted to read them all. Hemming the Trousers was awesome. I feel so sorry for poor Henry though. As much as I laughed at the Vanilla Snowball ending I actually laughed harder upon re-reading when I read this bit: "I saw it! With my own periscope through your upstairs window!" Periscope? This guy is paranoid Important Missions was great. I love that your are taken the core characters of the Space Agency and moving them forward (except Red :p) Loved Weiss' sarcasm, loved Schwartz' casual flashbacks to bizarre events, loved the "important mission" to choose the next vehicle from your cameoing mocs (Love 'em by the way), but most of all loved the fact that Shwartz FINALLY is on shift! I'm really happy to see Meteor Madness II. I'm guessing that the duo of Verwaand and Friendlich will stop the fun after their tipoff about the icecream? Anyway I love this drawn comic. you style is very cool, Lego I know is harder to draw than you'd think, but you capture that atmosphere really well here. Also a lot of Wubness towards the way you draw Vanilla Snowball Of course the second part is great too. Love the use of the beach house set. Interested in Valkyrie's "Oh my God" bit too. I think the best bit though was the fact that she says that "Not every place in the galaxy looks like that Raven's Port dive your frequent you know" and yet Ralph Gunbar can be seen in the previous panel Was that intentional? Anyway, can't wait to see the rest, and check out the new Space Police 2009 set photos in the other thread. Batbrick Away! Quote
KDog Posted January 11, 2009 Author Posted January 11, 2009 Meteor Madness II (Part 3): http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=506365 I've also posted my analysis of the new Space Police pix! Quote
Batbrick Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Yay a new part already! Love the interaction between Valkyrie and Shwartz in this one, the "jumping the shark" is one of the funniest jokes so far. I really like how much of their romantic dates involve either bashing each others personality or bashing someone else Of course, I will not at all be surprised if she does steal his bike, especially when Friendlich arrives (I can see into the future) Batbrick Away!
