Quote
KDog Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 Thanks, Fenris. I'll have to look into what's going on with the letters. They look fine on my computer, but maybe not universally. It's probably a side effect of my cheap paint program, too. Quote
fenris Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 i have the same problem (my comcis are on brickshelf in my sig in the vader folder). but i made them really fast in powerpoint and saved as .jpg... there are some nice programs i'm planning to use on the next... comic life is sharewaare..i'll text it soon... Batbrick Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Yes Yes Yes! It's back! My withdrawal symptoms are over! Fantastic 200th comic KDog, not what I expected, but just as good. I love the choice of the 200 starfighter for the open, very clever, and the twins as always are a hoot. Can't wait to see where that final twist goes either. That robot set is mad too, I remember that one from a friend. Can't wait for the next comic, and welcome back! To the Batbrickmobile! Quote
KDog Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 I don't use the Twins as much as Schwartz, Valkyrie and Galanos, but they're among my favorite characters, which may explain why they featured in both the 50th and 200th comic specials. I really like writing Ronald, too, who I've got to bring back sometime soon. At least he had his own epic story not that long ago. Quote
Aliencat Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Woohoo, good to see you're back and on the roll! As usual, I can't wait for the next installment :D Quote

zero1312 Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 And the random stuf continues.........! I missed the comic. Quote
Batbrick Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Ha, a fitting end to the story. Will the rock monster become an ongoing character? Anyway, just glad you're back! To the Batbrickmobile! Quote
KDog Posted July 18, 2009 Author Posted July 18, 2009 The Sultan of Sloth: http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=587550 ------ New comic is up! The rock monster will likely show up for another visit, although I don't plan to make him a regular. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I forget how mikey became a cat, could you tell me which comic that was in? I can totly relate to the brother situation. funny... good job Quote
KDog Posted July 19, 2009 Author Posted July 19, 2009 I forget how mikey became a cat, could you tell me which comic that was in? It was in the possible future visited by Ronald in the "House Call" storyline. How exactly Mikey became a cat was never shown, although it had something to do with experiments at the Polaris-I Space Lab. Quote
Batbrick Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Ronald, yay! I remember hating him when he first appeared because he annoyed me, but he's one of my favourite characters now. I love his excuses here, I suffer the same problem, though for me it's quitting my current job and getting a better one. One question though, how old is Ronald about? To the Brickmobile! Quote

A lot of things about Ronald remind me uncomfortably of myself, but he's worse. So I'm glad if he's not hated, because ultimately there's things about him I think many of us can identify with on some level. I'd say Ronald is in his low 20's. Quote

Batbrick Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Hahaha! Brilliant! Great to see my favourite characters again. Good to see that you're revisiting Earth as well. I like the way you've revealed more about Shwartz' background nice and subtly, though I'm sure we all could guess he was a misfit when he was younger! And like Zero said, Valkyrie's in for some seriously weird stuff on the horizon. Incidentally, what do you think of the set? I was thinking of buying it. To the Brickmobile! Quote

Schwartz will talk a little more about his youth throughout this storyline. You're thinking about buying the camper? I'd go for it. It's not too expensive, for one thing. It reminds me a little of the camper set I used to have as a kid and wish I still did (6590). The new one has a lot cool features. There's the surfboard and bike on the roof. The inside swings open and you have a sitting area with cups, a sleeping space, a TV and a frying pan on the wall. There's also a little hot plate that the minifigs can cook the included fish on. The female minifig is cute, and she has a new hairpiece that I think is thus far unique to this set, especially in reddish brown. All in all, I love Winnebagos and campers (partly due to camping trips I used to go on in one when I was a kid. I love their compact yet useful nature; a little home on wheels), and this set captures what I love about them. Love the lime green pieces and the palm trees sticker. It's funny; I always have little to say about how useful pieces are, because I usually like to keep sets together and don't build a whole lot of MOCs. The Bike Shop has always been one of my favorites. I had it (or most of it) when I was a kid and a neighbor gave me his Legos, which I guess he had outgrown. It's one of the most revered town sets, and for a good reason. The show window with all the helmets on display and the three motorycles for sale (one with a sidecar) succeed in making this building feel like a real shop. The window stickers are awesome, too (yeah, this set was ahead of it's time with having a lot of stickers). Inside, there's a repair area and an office. This is one of those classic Lego Town sets that wasn't huge, but managed to cram in a lot of details and play value. A classic. Quote

I'll definitely be sure to buy that Camper then next time I go to K-Mart. Of course unlike you I think a lot of pieces, but a surfboard, I don't have that, and I am in desperate need of white. That hairpiece is great too. Yep, I'll go for it, thanks! I envy you so much in having so much classic Lego. As much as I love the current stuff (which is generally more useful for creations) nothing, absolutely nothing fills me with childhood giddiness like the prospect of being given a tub of old Lego. It's why I was so excited to get my first Classic Space figures from my friend ages months ago. Soeaking of which, another friend let me sort through his Lego and pick out some stuff I wanted a few weeks ago. I managed to snag some great stuff, but best of all was two Blacktron 2 figs, so I can have my own Verwaand plus 1! The only annoying thing is I haven't got any of those trans-light green visors so they're wearing dark green for now. Not to worry though, because I embarrassingly skipped past several light green visors going through his Lego so I'll just have to ask if I can quickly go through one more. I also got a Space Police commander torso and face, which means I can make that....guy....whose name escapes me. Help me out? To the Brickmobile! Quote

Batbrick Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Batbrick, is it Space Police I or II? Not sure which, but it's the torso in this comic: http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=368891 Great new comic too. Love Shwartz' demonstration of the roominess of the van, my favourite is the "outdoor area". Valkyrie's comment is appropriately hilarious too. To the Brickmobile! Quote
