LOL @ the last pic: so that would have happened if Schwartz became president?

~ General Magma

It's more metaphorical in that instance, but could be literal, too. :-)

I must apologise again KDog, I've been ridiculously lazy recently. As promised, my shot reviews of the comics I've missed:

Part 4: Great exposition on Mikey and Ronald's parents and the new mystery of their fathewr. The cement mixer joke was great because while it was predictably going to be something mundane, a cement mixer was certainly the last thing I'd thought of.

Part 5: Shorter than before but still sweet, I must say I love the chemistry you manage to set up with all your characters, here My Wobbly Droid providing the more logical side to Ronald's tangents.

Masoch: Good grief was this terrifying and hilarious at the same time. I think my favourite part was "A hook? This sounds promising!"

Part 6: Good to see the time travel plot getting straight in now, I loved Wobbly's line "I'm not sure that's the most logical conclusion sir"

Part 7: Another short one but sweet, I liked this part better than the short part 5, and the return of the triple-decker chicken-cheese porkburger gag was neat, I love the returning jokes.

Part 8: My favourite strip at this point easily, the fish slap comes out of nowhere and is just comedy gold. By the by, the setup while simply works really well and I find you've lit this part very well.

Part 9: Nice reference to the Matt Smith Doctor Who here (I'm presuming that's what it is?). The last line of a song about irony lacking irony being brilliant in its own irony, in fact just being retarded was another favourite line of this story,

Part 10: Great jokes in this one, I was somewhat skeptical of The Doctor appearing in this comic but you've really pulled him off as a fun character, especially with his mentions of the Achievement Wh0rz conundrum and his 80's CD collection.

Part 11: The last line of this was juicily foreshadowing. i must say my favourite line is Mr Wobbly's "sensitive subject" one, reminding the readers that though this is a very funny work, it still has a lot of other emotions and serious subject matter, which I love.

Part 12: Bill Clinton's appearance was great (Canadian bit especially), but the real meat was Shwartz' idea of becoming president. I know it was an afterthought, but I'm firmly convinced that the inclusion of the nuclear explosion turned that joke from a mere smirk on my face to a full blown laugh at my seat.

Part 13: Nice short little one, the gag isn't as funny, but that is because some of the comic's best have come just in previous parts.

A couple of quibbles, such as the need to return to Date Night (the time line of where Shwartz is at is getting a little warped at this point), the story also appears to be moving a bit slow, but not much else to say, I feel you're really riding well on your own experience right now, you've got character interactions down to a comedic and emotional and believable tee. Kudos.

Wow, Batbrick, you weren't kidding about reviewing each comic! It really helps to see what works and what doesn't work as well, and I thank you.

As for the story moving slow, I'm not sure if you mean just with the last installment or going back a number of strips. The days between updates has always been a challenge for me when it comes to telling longer stories. They can seem to drag out, which I imagine wouldn't be as much of an issue if the same story was being told in daily strips. When I realized "Lunch Time" was going to be longer than I originally planned, I began posting comics three times a week, and that's a practice I would like to continue going forward. But it does make it harder to do longer comic pages. The last comic, for example, was a conversation I had wanted to include, but it was too much to have it at the beginning of the next comic, so I separated it, and that helped me post a comic on a night on which I didn't have a lot of time to complete a longer page. There are times I post a comic that is more comic strip-like (shorter, more self-contained), but I suppose that can mess with the pace when within a longer story. In fact, I'm going to post a couple of "deleted scenes" at the end that I took photos for and wanted to include, but they interfered with the pace too much.

As for the much delayed "Date Night," I can actually give you a date now for when it will resume since everything before then is set in stone: Feb. 8, which is a day short of the comic's second anniversary. And you know I like continuity porn, so there will actually be an in-story explanation as to why it's taken so long to show the rest of "Date Night."

I didn't expect that.........

Yikes... The Doctor should have scoured that garage for other potentially dangerous devices before taking off with the first Guardian, although I'm sure the TARDIS will start sounding an alert if time changes are set in motion.

Part 15: Wow! He actually left his "flying" chair!

I wish I could get some Time Cruiser stuff back then, it seemed to have pretty useful parts..

Part 16: LOL! Another fish slap!

I think the "Get over it" thing started a looong time before chatrooms and computers.

Great job on them, as usual!

Also I am wondering what the change will be this time...

General, you'll see what the change is, although one result of Ronald's second trip has been stated already. It's there in a previous comic in this storyline, but it's subtle.

Sonic, I've never really settled on how far in the future it is, and have only been vague about it, mainly because fictional depictions of the future are usually too optimistic. I'd say a couple hundred years or so. As to why 20th and 21st pop culture is still prevalent, that's mainly because I find it amusing to include it (kind of like Futurama does).

No problem, it gets me up in the morning :classic:

I more meant that I've noticed that your stories are taking more and more parts to tell recently. While I can't comment on this one at the moment since I have no idea where it's headed in terms of story, I must sadly gripe that some of the recent stories, while filled with the best characterisation and interactions up to this point, do seem to be rather padded out and lengthier than necessary. It's not so much the amount of time for each strip that irks me, I have no delusions of you "owing" us anything (if anything we owe you!) but upon re-reading ones such as the smurfs story I felt a more compressed form would've made for much better rapid-fire gags rather than stretching it out.

Again though, I must stress these are only my opinions and I don't want to offend your work or anything. In fact you've inspired me to very slowly work towards creating my own comics!

As for the much delayed "Date Night," I can actually give you a date now for when it will resume since everything before then is set in stone: Feb. 8, which is a day short of the comic's second anniversary. Hooray! I very much look forward to it thankyou! Also, "continuity porn", you haven't been trapped on Tv Tropes have you?

Anyhoo, my reviews (late again sorry).

14: Naturally I can sense something bad happening, only Ronald could make an impossibility. A long one, but not a lot happening, though I did laugh at how "subtle" the parellels were to a certain current film franchise. Ps: I agree somewhat less aggressively

15: Gargh! Time Cruisers! It's like a whacked out Delorean! I'm amazed out how many themes you manage to fit into this comic actually, hat's off to you!

17: I trust you meant 16 right? That sliding fish slap was very sweet, positioning was good. I must be tired though as it took me a while to get the last joke.

Lunch Time continues! (The actual, correctly labeled Part 17):

http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=662644

Batbrick, I'll keep in mind the pacing. "Lunch Time" has been pretty talky due to all the time travel stuff and characterization, but I'll try not to make that a trend. The continuation of "Date Night" is going to be slightly later than I said, because I completely rewrote the ending of "Lunch Time" and it extended the story by a couple of comics. But I think you'll like what I added, as it's a little more far-reaching and resolves a little more.
