Batbrick Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Huh, I didn't see that coming either. Quite clever too, I thought the ice cream thing was just there for the Luscious jokes, your plots are getting much smarter and professional KDog! I'll be interested to hear what Romero has to say, and whther or not it is of any significance other than "I escaped." Batbrick Away! Quote
Sonic Screwdriver Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 With the possible exception of the future Space Police officer, has Dash actually killed anyone? Digging up and stealing corpses for unknown purposes is pretty horrific, but Dash does not seem to want to make people dead -- only harvest those who are already dead or pretty close to it. Quote

KDog Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 My suspicions were confirmed... I didn't want to say it at the time, but those were astute observations. :) Quote
Batbrick Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Huh, nice little special effect with the Dash skull there KDog, I didn't notice the first time I quickly went through the comic and it startled me the second time! Nice and subtle, very neat. And that 180 degrees head shot continues to be disturbing, despite the fact all Lego figs can do that. A testament to the quality of your shots I'd say, which are definitely vastly improved since you started the whole thing. And wow, maybe I just wasn't thinking enough, but for some reason I was caught off-guard with the stealing the body thing, particularly that they don't kill people that we know yet, just take the already dead. I'm loving how this arc is shaping up! Batbrick Away! Quote

Sonic Screwdriver Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Haha, I couldn't help but notice these two quotes: "you-know-who" and "I want that ship!". Harry Potter and Star Wars? Quote
Sonic Screwdriver Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 I also find it hilarious that President Weiss just doesn't really seem to care that a Space Agency zombie is flying around stealing corpses. All he can think about is recovering the 918 for his own personal use Quote
Artanis I Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 (edited) Can't view any of your comic today... the pages won't finish loading (haven't seen latest episode yet). The drunk duck home page doesn't load either. edit: it's not been working all day but is working now, go figure. Edited July 5, 2010 by Artanis I Quote
Batbrick Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I had to laugh at how President Weiss just cared about getting the ship, that's come up before. Romero also caring the the icecream first, these people have serious priority issues! Hope the move goes okay then, eagerly awaiting the next part. Someone discovered his paint program's transparency feature. ;-) Batbrick Away! Quote

Though to Romero's credit, he was asking about the ice cream because he bought it for his family. President Weiss only wants the 918 for himself!!! Quote
KDog Posted July 13, 2010 Author Posted July 13, 2010 Well, my big move is almost complete and things should be back to normal this week. I expect to have a new comic up tomorrow (Wednesday). Quote
KDog Posted July 19, 2010 Author Posted July 19, 2010 I'm back! Bring Out Your Dead (Part 14): http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=724376 Quote
Batbrick Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Yay, he's back! You know, just a random thought, but being a Doctor Who fan, is McGann a reference to the actor? Anyway, great return, not a lot of laughs, but I'm actually glad; this story is more about finally advancing the arc and establishing some of the darker themes further. I've also noticed Friendlich has a habit of talking to people without facing them, which has happened a few times with him. Is this intentional? Either way I think it's neat, I like to think of it as a character tic of his. Batbrick Away! Quote

And when the Doctor has appeared in the comic, it's been the 8th. He never got enough adventures, so I figured I'd use him here. :) "Bring Out Your Dead" is definitely about the comic's darker themes and is purposely less humorous. There's one more comic in this storyline, an epilogue of sorts. I have a tendency to draw or photograph characters facing away from the people they're speaking to and looking into the distance when they're being dramatic. I think I've just done it the most with Freundlich, as this story has been more serious. Good point, though, as I hadn't really considered it might be something he does. Quote
