KDog Posted May 10, 2008 Author Posted May 10, 2008 The last part of Meteor Madness is now up! http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=399548 Quote
Batbrick Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Oh my goodness, that's beautiful I love these lines: "Yeah, and she was totally hitting on me!" "No...She was hot!" "...Her sexy gaze and siren like voice turned me into a bumbling idiot!" Gotta love Shwartz, but the part that really had me laughing my seat was the cat, I never noticed it in the background drinking there. Very clever and great work, this one has terrific lighting and the virtual game at the start was nice too. Keep 'em coming! A question too, should you get the Star Justice or Space Skulls will you incorporate them into the comic one day, as an official set? I ask this as I was reminded of them when I added up my 08 cost list, and found it to be way too high, I unfortunately can't get them...yet. Batbrick Away! Quote
KDog Posted May 10, 2008 Author Posted May 10, 2008 Thanks again, Batbrick. I do like having what amounts to a bonus comic going on in the background, even if people don't realize it right away. Notice also how the cat steals Schwartz' chair as soon as he gets up. As for Star Justice, funny you should ask... Quote
CP5670 Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 I noticed the cat right when it found Galanos' bottle. Is that computer game supposed to be a holographic display? Quote
KDog Posted May 10, 2008 Author Posted May 10, 2008 I noticed the cat right when it found Galanos' bottle. Is that computer game supposed to be a holographic display? Yeah, kinda the (twisted) Lego:Space version of the holographic game in the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars. Quote
Brickmaster Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Heh, I love the last few, the twists are lovely, and the sudden added in bits sure get me. Quote
KDog Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 A new comic (and story) is up. Prototypical (Part 1): http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=399605 Quote
zero1312 Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Is eating the only thing Schwartz can think of? Quote
Batbrick Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 , great way of incorporating Star Justice there, I'm guessing you enjoy the two sets quite a lot! Great job, I love the Jelly joke. Batbrick Away! Quote
KDog Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 Is eating the only thing Schwartz can think of? No, he thinks about women, too. Quote
KDog Posted May 14, 2008 Author Posted May 14, 2008 Part 2 of "Prototypical" just went live: http://drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=399647 Quote
Clonecommando007 Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I hadn't seen this before so I read through all the comics. I love this! Please continue! Quote
KDog Posted May 14, 2008 Author Posted May 14, 2008 Thanks, Clonecommando! I plan to keep going. :) Quote
Batbrick Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Nice job here, I look forward to seeing where this arc is going. One little thing I noticed was the opening shot, which was rather blurry. I was a little disappointed seeing that, as the rest of your comics of recent has had really good photography. Not a huge deal of course, just a little nag. Batbrick Away! Quote
KDog Posted May 14, 2008 Author Posted May 14, 2008 Weird, I didn't even catch that it was blurry until after I had posted the comic. I'll try to not let those shots slip though. Quote
WhiteFang Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 KDog, nice update! Enjoying viewing your comics. Was least expected of Commander Valkyrie. Haha, but that is a nice one! Quote
KDog Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 Prototypical (Part 3) is up: http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=399709 The first two comics in this storyline were mainly set-up for the final comic. Next week, I've got a special surprise for you. It starts Sunday... Quote
Batbrick Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 , that was plain hi-larious! Great job, I like the the end shot, very nice, and the robot section was extremely funny. Keep up the good work there! And I look forward to this surprise... Batbrick Away! Quote
KDog Posted May 18, 2008 Author Posted May 18, 2008 A new comic is up, and it's the start of that surprise I was telling you about last week. After too long a wait, Indy IV hits theaters this week! I was compelled to celebrate the occasion and decided to look ahead to another Indy premiere far, far ahead in the future and in the universe of Lego: Space. Indy fans should recognize the tips of the hat I've made to the movies, such as in the very first panel. And I couldn't do without a few obscure Doctor Who and Highlander references, to boot! This storyline will consist of a trilogy of comic strips, concluding on May 22, the release date for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! Batbrick Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Fantastic work KDog! I love these surprises, having just watched all three Indy movies in preparation for the fourth one this is hilarious! Love the highlander reference, that gave me a laugh, it is fitting that immortals would exist here. Though Indy coming out doesn't make much sense, it's all worth it for that funny joke of "waiting forever!" It's also great just to see a funny comic too, so much gold in this one, whether it be the banana weapon, highlander, Mutt being supposedly lame and -, Doctor Who cameos and of course Blacktron hate all round. Looking forward to the next one, and looking forward to the movie. Batbrick Away! Quote
KDog Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 (edited) Thanks, Batbrick, I'm glad you're still enjoying it. My readership has had a sharp decline in the last week or so, by about half, according to the counter on the page, and I've gotten less comments all around. So I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong. Your comments are appreciated as always. I just watched all three Indy movies again in preparation for the new one, too. I hadn't seen Temple and Last Crusade in a long time and was surprised that I had forgotten a lot about them. And I realized there were subtleties I had missed when I last saw them in full as a kid. In a way it was like seeing them for the first time, so that was cool. On a related note, I was in a Target store and saw the new Indiana Jones trading cards. I was lured in by the prospect of getting randomly inserted autograph cards and purchased five packs. While I didn't get any autographs, I got some foil cards and all the cards looked great. But I quickly realized that the cards gave away A LOT from the new movie and I just breezed through them as fast as possible looking for autographs. I'll look at them again after I see the film. I was surprised since the cards were advertised like they covered all four movies, but they appear to be exclusive to Crystal Skull. BTW, the next comic will explain more about the Indiana Jones movies still being around in the far future. Edited May 19, 2008 by KDog Quote
