Norro Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 What you want that for? 6296 is rarer! It's a large castle I don't own which has nothing to do with KK2+ or Fright Knights... God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 16, 2005 Author Governor Posted October 16, 2005 Get them both! If 6296 hardly gets any bids (which it hasn't yet) you'll only be paying a measily amount for such a rare set. Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted October 16, 2005 Author Governor Posted October 16, 2005 Sometimes nobody bids on these things the first time round... Then the second time they go through the roof... Strange how it works like that, but I always make sure I'm the winner first time round. Ever since I lost that Barnacle Bay... Quote
Starwars4J Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Could the international shipping charges and conversion really cost that much, especially when that set is so cheap? To be honest, I've only bought internationally on a few occasions, and they were small by comparison (bricklink, actually). Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 17, 2005 Author Governor Posted October 17, 2005 It depends where you're located. It would cost me over US$10 to get it here and since I don't have a credit card I'd have to pay around US$5 for a money order and about US$2 for air mail stamp and envelope to send it in. So that's an additional US$17 which is about A$22 on top of whatever the auction ends at. Given that I paid A$31/US$23 for one locally including postage, its hardly worth the 6-8 week wait to recieve it from the other side of the world. I've bought internationally before and was rather displeased with the costs and time things take to arrive. Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 For the same reason I don't use bricklink... The shipping would be too expensive compared to what I'd want to buy. Quote
Zane Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Heh, cool. I have that set, used to be my brothers. Pretty cool. I'll dig it out sometime... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 18, 2005 Author Governor Posted October 18, 2005 Yes, dig out, build and display ALL pirate sets that your brother or any of your family or friends might have! Quote
Cpt. Blackbeard Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 If you don't want'em I'll take them :D |-D Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 18, 2005 Author Governor Posted October 18, 2005 He'd be quite silly not to want them! However, I'd also gladly have them should insanity strike. Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Got one today! No box (got it together with Red Beard Runner and everything was packed into this ship's box). The parts of these two sets were mixed, however! Black bricks were in one separate bag, white were in another... Now that's something I appreciate. Quote
Zane Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Heh, don't worry, I got the whole display thing covered! My ships, my Aquanauts, my KK, my Rock Raiders, my Bionicle and every other Lego sets I have are all going on a newly purchased shelving unit. :-D Well, I got it out and built it. Couple of pieces missing, like the palm tree and the gunny-thing on the front, but they'll be in another box somewhere. Cool set, but a little jumbled. It's a shipwreck, anyways... Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 The set has this little device than can catapult mnifigs. I'm sure it's a great thing for kids to play with, however this raises a question - what purpose would such a mechanism serve on a ship, wrecked or not? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 20, 2005 Author Governor Posted October 20, 2005 Its quite simple Dreamweb, when they see a passing ship one of the pirates get onto the catapult and is flung towards the ship. Hopefully he'll land on the deck and they'll get rescued. Of course he is more likely to miss or splatter into the side of the ship. Quote

Dreamweb Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Since there are only two pirates they can flip the coin. There's also the skeleton but it'd be hard for him to explain himself once he's already landed. However he can be catapulted to attract attention, in a very brutal way. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 21, 2005 Author Governor Posted October 21, 2005 They could always catapult the skeleton first... Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 No, first they should catapult the captured Spaniard, then the skeleton to get better aim and finally when the targetting sequence is over they'd catapult the pirate. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 21, 2005 Author Governor Posted October 21, 2005 But what if they haven't capture the Spaniard because he's so cunning? Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Then they can use the crocodile instead. It's not as cunning as the Spaniard. Quote
Norro Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 But what if they haven't capture the Spaniard because he's so cunning? This is asking fora Black Adder "is he as cunning as a cunning fox who used to be professor of cunning at Oxford University but has now moved on to chair a UN sub committee of cunning for the committee of cunning?" "Yes Baldric, that cunning". :-D God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 22, 2005 Author Governor Posted October 22, 2005 Can the skeleton talk? Quote
Norro Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Can the skeleton talk? from experience few figs talk...:-D God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 23, 2005 Author Governor Posted October 23, 2005 The skeletons could talk in the Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl... I was wondering if that was consistent with skeletons from all over the place... Quote
