Posted October 31, 20177 yr In the recent announcement video for set 10256 (Taj Mahal re-release) - the designer states that "it's for the fans - they've been requesting re-releases for years". Following hot on the heels of the UCS Falcon re-release (and recent trend of UCS and winter village revamps), it would seem we may be in for regular re-releases of iconic sets going forward. If that is the case and this becomes a regular "thing" - which iconic sets would you like to see re-released? For me, my top five would be: 1-10030 - UCS Imperial Star Destroyer 2-6399 - Airport Shuttle 3-6762 - Fort Legoredo 4-10182 - Cafe Corner 5-10210 - Imperial Flagship
October 31, 20177 yr If frequent rereleases become a thing, it's likely to cover only post 2003 sets. They have the active color palette and habit of sticker sheets. In which case I'd love to see the 10210 Imperial Flagship, 10228 haunted house or 10256 Taj Mahal. Wait a minute.. Hooray! But if they do tend to rerelease iconic 90s sets, I'd love to see the Skull's Eye Schooner or Dark Forest Fortress. But this seems unlikely, as rereleases have been done before in 2001, before the color change. Known as Lego Legends. Just bring back non licensed originality, pretty please? October 31, 20177 yr Can we wish for a whole theme to be brought back? If so I would like the any and all of the Kingdoms/Castle/Knight's Kingdom/Any of the post-2002 Medieval sets. If I must list them... 8780 Citadel of Orlan 7187 Escape from Dragon's Prison 7189 Mill Village Raid

October 31, 20177 yr Imperial Flagship would be nice. Eiffel Tower might also be great, although some redesign should be done on that one with all of the newer parts and building techniques available.
October 31, 20177 yr Lots of awesome pirate sets out there I'd love to see be rereleased. As well as castle and trains. The Emerald Knight would make an awesome rerelease!
October 31, 20177 yr Top of my list would be 9398 - 4x4 crawler, it was such a great set, but I've never been able to get one due to the high aftermarket prices.
October 31, 20177 yr Haunted House. There are others that would be nice, too (sets from the old 90s catalogs that I drooled over as a kid) but if I could only choose one, that'd be it.
October 31, 20177 yr Café Corner, the Maersk train (somehow missed that one), some of the old adventure or wild west sets, the space sets like 7647
October 31, 20177 yr Excluding the monorail stuff, since that's never going to happen: Emerald Night Mission Commander from Space Police I Mega Core Magnetize from M-Tron But I don't think we'll see rereleases f really old sets - not only did they change the color palette, but they also discontinued lots of olderparts, most importantly the clicky hinges.
October 31, 20177 yr I would definitely like to see some classic space and castle sets. But rather reinterpretations in the spirit of Benny's Spaceship than 1:1 reissues from sets 30 years old. For more recent sets: I hope every modular gets a return - and above all: the wonderful Medieval Market Village.
October 31, 20177 yr Every Belville and Paradisa set! Ok just joking. Pretty much everything that everyone has said so far would be awesome to see re-released. Some classic Castle/Pirates would be great if there is never going to be any substantial new content for historic themes, and of course all of the modulars. Some more nostalgia links since I like how OP did it: Majisto's Magical Workshop Shuttle Launchpad Knight's Castle And how about some Model Team love?
October 31, 20177 yr Personally I don not want re-releases since they take a spot from a new set. What could be interesting is if they make some old classics like pirates, indians and castle with modern pieces and building. That would mean that eg eldorado fortress with 462 bricks would become a set with 2-3000 pieces

I'd go for 41999; it shares an almost identical chassis with 9398, and the white / black / orange parts to reconstitute the bodywork are abundant.

I thought of that too (and I would prefer it over 9398), but... Lego is never going to re-release a limited edition set...
November 1, 20177 yr Realistically, I don't think we'd get anything before 2003, in line with the Legends. I'd like to see for each of the major themes: Town/City: 10184 Town Plan Pirates: 10210 Imperial Flagship Castle: 10223 Kingdom's Joust Trains: 10027 Train Shed Space: 5974 Galactic Enforcer No licenses to worry about Lego. Let's see them please!! Now that you've unleashed the rerelease machine, we can dream of having them all for regular price!
November 1, 20177 yr I'm a bit of a collector and I've been at it a while now so this is an interesting question for me. A lot of the obvious choices: 3450 Statute of Liberty, 3724 Ollie the LEGO Dragon, 10181 Eiffel Tower, 10194 Emerald Night, 10210 Imperial Flagship, 10193 Medieval Market Village, 10223 Kingdoms Joust, 3739 Blacksmith's Shop, 10030 Imperial Star Destroyer, 10221 Super Star Destroyer, etc. I already own. In several cases (10193 MMV, 10194 EN, 3739 BS) I even have unopened spares (no intention to sell, I just really liked them and plan to build them again some day). So if I take all that off the list, it leaves me with: I'd love to see a reissue of the 8480 Technic Space Shuttle, one of the best Technic kits ever; feature rich, challenging to build, beautiful model, and - from a personal history standpoint - a key factor in my return from my dark ages. Those few kits that are out there are selling for roughly 4x original price. It's never going to happen though. This kit is from the days when TLG nearly bankrupted itself by not paying attention to its own costs and this set was clearly underpriced for what went into it (and, hence its popularity made it an even bigger money loser for TLG). This kit had micro-motors and fiber-optics and old style battery boxes and motors that haven't seen the light of day since PowerFunctions was introduced. I already have one, but I'd love to have another to build with my daughter when she's old enough. From a nostalgia standpoint, I've always wanted the 8880 Supercar. Sure the modern ones are nicer, but the 8880 is a classic. The one modular missing from my collection is the 10182 Cafe Corner, though like the new Millenium Falcon, I wouldn't object to a slight redesign to flesh out the interior. From the old Model Team line, I've always regretted not buying 5571 Giant Truck. I was in KB Toys; it was on clearance. I had it in my hand, but I hesitated. I changed my mind the next day, came back and it was gone. - sigh - Edited November 1, 20177 yr by ShaydDeGrai Edited in an effort to hide my inability to type and proofread ;->

Its a fantastic set and if you want it I wouldn't hang about waiting for a re-release.

November 2, 20177 yr I think if I was wanting any rereleases they would all be too old. So if they were subtly revamped with the current colours and parts, I would like the vintage Pirates ships (& bases?) to be remade. Keep as much of the original vibe as possible! Don't change the minifigs (except the brown/grey). And working cannons would be nice... Even though I'm Castle/Space almost all the way, I don't think any of those old sets could be rereleased & appreciated today without massive changes. So don't bother. The other sets I would like to see released again (original or slightly modified) are the early modular buildings. Not for my sake, since I can't afford that line of sets, but for the community as a whole. Since the subject of images has been brought up, here we go: Spoiler Spoiler Why not these 3 while we're at it... maybe in a few years' time Spoiler Spoiler
November 2, 20177 yr How about an enlarged width-wise for the Emerald Night (and other steam locos) set 10027 (Train Shed) from 2003? It was the ONLY train shed released thus far, and we need another one!
