Wouwie Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Well, that idea with the tiled track is not as easy as it looks, I already tried such an idea for a Mag-Lev styled project but the motor I used for powering it wassn't strong enough to give it 1 meter/hour so.....And you can't make curved tracks.. Quote
DJ Force Posted May 5, 2008 Author Posted May 5, 2008 True, you cannot make curves with tiles :( But as I mentioned, tile-tracks would only be good for direct transport, military style. The shortest way is the best way. And a straight line is the shortest way Anyway, here are two pics of the mountainside and wall. Its meant to connect to the left wall of the Sentai HQ on the one side, and to the big orange piece of the machine-bay on the other side. Quote
Wouwie Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Looks great DJ! As for the transport, I will give it a try tommorow.. Quote
Wouwie Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Well, I gave it a try today, it failed totally. I made a T-frame styled track, the track succeed, the train itself failed. Hopefully I can post pics tommorow... Quote
DJ Force Posted May 6, 2008 Author Posted May 6, 2008 (edited) Hmm, tricky. I don´t have any railtracks, and LDD doesn´t have them any more. But still I thought about the transport system and came up with this track-module, based on the sled-idea. This module can be extended eternally The big disadvantage: It´s terribly expensive http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Produ...17-c052aec3810a Pieces: 81 Price: EUR 13.60 Edited May 6, 2008 by DJ Force Quote
DJ Force Posted May 7, 2008 Author Posted May 7, 2008 And a "station": http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Produ...0a-f284a26bc911 Pieces: 38 Price: EUR 5.09 Quote
Wouwie Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Looks nice DJ, but maybe it could be a bit bigger. Quote
DJ Force Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 You´re right. It could use a little more size. Feel free to add to it! Quote
Wouwie Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Okay, I'm expanding it right now. I'll edit this post with the pictures Quote
Wouwie Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Well, I had to do it again... I didn't saved it before I shut down my pc... Quote
Wouwie Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Well, I hoped it would be done this week, but my parents screwed it up, so maybe next week.....If my parents leave me alone.. Quote
DJ Force Posted May 23, 2008 Author Posted May 23, 2008 Darn, always those small minded parents. They never know what´s important in life Quote
Wouwie Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Yeah, I can't wait till I'm out of this doomed house... They think I got enough Lego, you can never have enough ,that I'm to old for it... Quote
Wouwie Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 Well, you are... Just kidding...I'm working on it now...So, maybe next weekend it will be done. Quote
Wouwie Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 (edited) EDIT: Double post..... Edited May 24, 2008 by wouwie13 Quote
brickbreaker Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 (edited) how many spaces are there between all the joints? anyway, are these to be a wall around the exo side, the base or the mountain? im doing the hole exo city wall (at least parts of) i imagined the living quarters to be split into colours, so here is the blue sky acomidation rooms 1-6, control room as well Edited May 26, 2008 by brickbreaker Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 One, and most importantly, YOU CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH LEGO!!!!! Two, you are never too old for LEGO, I'm 30!!! And three, I like this. I'm not a huge EXOFORCE fan, but I do love Castle and this is essentialy a futuristic castle, with technology. So, I think I'm gonna put one together. Couple of questions though. -Colors; doesn't really matter right? -At what brick height levels are the technic pins to connect the wall sections? I saw three in your LDD drawings. -Is there a size limitation per module, because I think I would like to construct one on a 48x48 plate, and incorporate a corner? Lemme know. Room is very limited as of right now, but it will open up in the next month so.... Quote
DJ Force Posted May 26, 2008 Author Posted May 26, 2008 Hey Brickbreaker, looking good what I can see so far. Could you maybe post a link to the LDD file? I´d like to see your module a little closer. @stash2sixx: First, and most importantly, I fully agree with you Second: One year older than me. I guess that´s allright Third: Thanks a lot for liking this. Seriously, that´s exactly the spirit I wanted to catch whith starting this project. The whole Sentai Mountain idea is about building a castle, a fortress and stronghold, just with future technology and giant sized mechas. Now to your questions. Colors: Depending on what you want to build. Since we only have thought about modular walls and supply transport so far... Well... bley and dark bley are good for the basics, and orange to add some color to it. But many colors will work. White and blue for the airforce, red for the army (yellow might work as well, since the Supernova Mecha is yellow and army). Personally I prefer orange for everything Headquarter. That´s the color of base defense, mech-bay and so on. Height: Basically, there are three points of technic connections. The first is the ground level, located on the sixth and seventh stud of the baseplate of choice. The second one in the middle is located at the 8th brick from the baseplate level, and the upper one is the fifth brick from there. With this layout you can easily combine our wall segments with set #7709 walls. If in doubt, just check the online building instructions for 7709. Size: Any size is cool, as long as it can be connected with 32 stud baseplates. To be honest, we haven´t planned so far ahead yet to build the inner structures of the Fortress, so I cannot say if and how we will be able to incorporate 48x48 baseplates. But to my knowledge, no module has been build for real yet, so if you have any ideas on how to incorporate larger baseplates or even the inner parts of the Fortress, feel free to tell us. Any input is highly welcome. Quote

Wouwie Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 (edited) Well, I was a bit in active..But I've the expansion of the station done But did you all lost interest in this project? Edited June 14, 2008 by wouwie13 Quote
DJ Force Posted June 14, 2008 Author Posted June 14, 2008 I can tell you, I didn´t ;) I have to admit though that I didn´t have time and inspiration lately to build anything. And since a baby is on its way, there won´t be much spare money for bricklink orders in the future. But I´m constantly looking for cheap sets and ebay auctions to add to my collection. We should come up with a good way to build big stuff without needing to have thousands of bricks. Any ideas? Well, I was a bit in active..But I've the expansion of the station done So please show us! I´m really looking forward to seeing your expansion. Quote
