Alberto Brick Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Yes, but this means that it is legitimate! Or did he remove them in advance for fear? Can I still hope? ? Quote
Tanuki Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I actually think Thanos looks great, super pissed with the helmet though. They better change that, for such a large villain in such an important theme. I'm annoyed with them reusing a mold, that seems incredibly and almost unforgivingly easy. While IW2 (Avengers 4) might have Thanos suiting up in armor (which I'd vastly prefer) I still want the IW1 variant and I hope that they make a new mold, or simply edit the current mold. Darksied's mold could work if they really pushed it. Quote

I totally agree but I'm more concerned as to how they approach the Infinity Gauntlet than the helmet as it'd have to fit all the stones but not look too big on Thanos' hand Quote

BaneShake Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 I'm not a fan of Thanos's bald look in the trailer, but I feel like the bigfig would've looked better than the current one that way. Helmeted but with bare arms clashes bizarrely here, for some reason. Quote
NXS7 Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Soooo... he didn't delete Thanos of his own accord... My Spidey Sense is telling me a lot of people aren't gonna be happy about this Quote
SpiderJazz Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 I'm okay about this. As I've said the only problem about the fig is the freaking helm. But it's not a big deal. Hopefully we'll see the Iron Spider and the rest of the Black Order members. Quote
Alberto Brick Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 5 years of waiting and expectations thrown into the toilet ? Quote

Exact! I have always accepted all Lego choices: mediocre builds, no arms / legs prints, lack of main-villain in some lines, inaccuracies, errors, everything. But to make mistakes Thanos is unacceptable! I'm sorry if I'm annoying, just arrived in the forum and so many complaints ? but really too much, too much disappointment ☹️ And I bet that all the other toy lines, all non-Lego merchandise, will have Thanos correct. I bet everything you want ? Quote
GoldenNinja3000 Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Lego bases figures off of concept art. We all know this, and we know that’s why they’re sometimes inaccurate. Lego sets aren’t just about the figures, it’s about the sets themselves. The world will not end because 4 leaked figures don’t reach your insanely highest expectations. Quote
NXS7 Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 My point was we don't even know the full details of the sets, and we know nothing about the D2C or possible 7th set Just2good mentioned. There could still be another Thanos Quote

Avengers had 2 loki (even tho they're same) / Avengers 2 had 4 types of Ultron ( if you include MK1 ) / I guess and hope that there will be anothe big fig with different printing and design than this Thanos that was leaked. Worst case scenario is there not. Still as @GoldenNinja3000 said, this is not the end of the world. Quote

My friend, do not be offended, but if I wanted to talk about the "end of the world" I would look for a site with an apocalyptic background. It's obvious that Lego does not end the world, but this is a forum where we talk about Lego, and I think it's the right place to complain about Lego ? Quote
GoldenNinja3000 Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 (edited) Killmonger’s face revealed in a new post. It seems to be a female face underneath the mask?? That’s really weird and if it’s Lego’s way of cutting corners that’s absolutely inexcusable. It might be Nakia’s head on the wrong body, but I don’t know what her face looks like exactly. Edit: Looked closely at Nakia, and it is her face on that Killmonger figure. Phew! I hope he gets a new print and not a generic face. Edited December 7, 2017 by GoldenNinja3000 Quote
Alberto Brick Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 I do not think we will have a second Thanos. The choice of the old model indicates that they worked on concept with the armor, which would have legitimized recycling. The correct print means that they have adjusted the shot in the race, not having the time (or the desire) to produce a new model. This is the only Thanos we'll see in 2018 ? Quote

Hoth Rebel Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Probably not. It's always the same: people get hyped and expect dual molded, triple printed and 15 differents heads and you'll always get plain legs, mostly likely no dual molded arms and an overused facial expression for 90% of the 'new' figures. Don't even get me started on changes that are barely noticable or changes that are worse than before. Yes, I did expect more from what we've seen to date, but it doesn't suprise me at all. Now people are waiting for a 'good' minifigure, but be ready to be disappointed in the most of them. I don't think they need to the the effort of giving us (AFOLS) a fully printed, correct to canon, etc. printing as kids probably won't shed a single tear that Iron Man had the legs of a previous figure or Thanos has no dual molded legs while the 2016 version did have them. Quote
Alberto Brick Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Yes, everything is fine. But you can not compare the print on the legs to the aspect of the villain that you have been waiting for years. So next time, instead of IronMan's enemy, let's put Homer Simpson, so much who does not care if it's slightly different ? Quote
Falconfan1414 Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Keep in mind, legos profits went down 3% which is like 544 million dollars. That’s a lot of money and the first time Lego sales have dropped. So with that in mind, Lego probably choice to cut back in some places. So saving 10,000 dollars on a big fig that might come in max 4 sets made sense to them saying that the target audience is kids and kids wouldn’t care. They already had a preexisting mold they could use for thanos and went ahead and used it. I know people are going to say what about gladiator Hulk? Well most likely Lego didn’t know about the sales drop by the time gladiator hulk was in production so there was nothing they could do. Quote

Again that's just speculation because you weren't happy with one Thanos that leaked. As someone else stated, the Darksied mold would work fine for a armourless Thanos template. Anyone else remember seeing anything about Iron Mans Mk43 when the set descriptions came out? No (although it could easily be the variant in the Sanctum). Nobody saw it coming because nothing about it was mentioned beforehand. A second Thanos is completely possible 1 hour ago, Kevii23 said: Probably not. The Civil War era was the worst. Cap's costume only changes ever so slightly and people weren't happy LEGO reused the AoU variant Quote
