I would love a figure of him, but I doubt we’ll get one. Personally, I expect the next set to be around $30-40 which would mean 2-5 figures. Lego doesn’t really do unpowered supporting characters in sets and we still have Hank, Janet, and Goliath that I think will be more important to the story, and that’s not even counting a possible Giant-Man build or a repeated figure. We also don’t know Sonny Burch’s role- if he’s a major secondary villain, they might give him a figure (like the Shocker in the biggest Homecoming set). Edited May 4, 2018 by GoldenNinja3000 Quote
LegoLord54 Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 I can just picture the second Antman and the wasp set being extremely similar to that Spider-Man homecoming set with the vulture and iron man as it is kind of similar to the van scene in the trailer and would probably have a similar price point. JVM Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Maybe the second set will feature Ant Man with a printed full-head helmet and the Wasp with a yellow recolor Ant Man helmet just so we have two matching sets :P Quote

I can see it being a Wasp helmet type, maybe even an almost identical helmet with the gold replaced with red, due to their helmets being virtually identical. Quote

Ultron Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 If Lego had just made a new helmet mold for Wasp, they could've used it for both MCU Hope and Janet and get some money out of it Quote

Ultron Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Just now, THELEGOBATMAN said: But they used ugly Iron Man mould instead. I hope we get at least one new mould for second set. I saw a review of the *reveal* of the Antman and the Wasp set on youtube and they pointed out that side characters in Star Wars get more attention to detail and new molds over lead characters in the MCU like Wasp. Now I know Marvel sets may not have the same budget as Star Wars (though who's to say?) but I found that comparison particularly eye-opening considering many of those molds for Star Wars will never be used again. And Antman in the Wasp is probably on the same level of blockbuster as a movie like Solo is (though both Antman and the Wasp trailers have slightly more views than either Solo trailer, just saying). Even crazier when you look back at the lazy figure printing on the Black Panther sets and realize that movie went on to make $1.3 Billion! You would think merchandise for movie/s like that would be high quality. Quote

Your logic here makes no sense. I think the Black panther sets are fine especially since we got a bunch of new molds for them. Yeah I wish the antman sets had leg printing but its not gonna sway me from buying the set. And the fact that wasps helmet isn't 100% accurate doesn't bother me. If you think they are being lazy that's your opinion but I really don't think they are being lazy just look at some of the amazing sets that are coming out this year HP the great hall, the roller coaster set for city, and some of the new Ninjago sets are fantastic. If you think they're being lazy your kidding yourself the decisions to include printed legs and new molds are coming from someone and 99% sure has to do with budget constraints or deadlines. Quote

I specifically said "went on to make." Black Panther was projected to make a lot of money from the start. Maybe not 1.3 billion, but at least as much as Ragnarok. And I'm sorry, but the figures from the BP sets were SO lackluster. Look at how detailed the Dora Milaje costumes are and then look at Okoye and Nakia. Might as well not even be them. The lack of leg and arm printing is noticeable to me because I pay a lot of attention to costuming and design. Not every figure needs the same amount of detail, but some just do, and it's just frustrating that they unarguably cut corners with Wasp. I am aware we have awesome sets coming out this year (they seem to be putting a lot of effort into HP, which is fantastic) but I have not felt that same level of dedication to Marvel for this year. Falconfan1414 Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 You will never be able to please everybody. When the summer catalogue leaked, we thought we were not getting any antman and the wasp sets, then we thought we were only getting one, now it has been revealed that we are getting two sets. I’m just glad we are getting sets based off the movie. If Lego does put the same wasp with the helmet in the other set then that’s when you can say Lego is being lazy. Quote

I'm just saying they are not lazy. I like alot of the infinity war sets too. I was commenting on your statement that the quality should be better because the movie made 1.3 billion which makes no sense because the merchandise is usually made from concept art and sometimes things get changed and the fact that the merchandise is out before the movie comes out. By that logic The Force Awakens merchandise should be off the charts. Quote

Dr Axels Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Ok, so I am a bit confused. Are we getting two Ant-Man and the Wasp sets? I feel like one person says yes, then another says no. Is there a general consensus on this? Quote

The Lego revealed it and said antman and the wasp sets ie more than one. Then another reliable site said we were getting two in total in their reveal of the antman set Quote
LegoLord54 Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Has anyone seen pictures of both faces of the new antman because at the moment I have only seen just one so maybe the unlikely possibility of us getting an antman with a mouthpiece remains. Quote

rob-ot5000 Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Not sure if this has been brought up, but I would not be shocked in the slightest if the hypothetical second AM&W set is a Brickheadz two-pack. Quote

I thought the same thing, but apparently since Brickheadz use their own set numbers and most have already leaked for the year, it's likely to be a regular set. Quote
