Really great how far it has come, from the street plates to the brickbuild roads now and the several changes and improvements you have made over time Any news on the Track? (By the way, you are the same westracing from tbk forums?) Yep, same from TBK. Nothing extravagant. I made some revisions to the tow truck and the open wheel car, built some open air "garages" for the final 3 pit stalls. I have to pick up 2 more Ferrari's, another BMW set to round out what I have. I'd hope Lego re-do the 911 in 8 wide and then it's fill in the garages. I have a lot more road area to build but just need time and money. Too many projects plus I had surgery 3 weeks ago and that's really healing slowly unfortunately. Quote
Divitis Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 The grandstand is awesome, gives me old school vibes, from the airport monorail set especially. I also like how it integrates ()while being different) with the rest of the buildings. Quote
westracing01 Posted July 26, 2024 Author Posted July 26, 2024 (edited) Wasn't sure what order these were in... LOL... OK, so here is Turn 5/6 showing the open air garages and some limited updated signage... Widest angle shot I can get of the whole thing from overlooking T1. Every modular Lego ever sold is represented in this picture, even if you can't see them all clearly. There is space for 4 more on within the confines of the inside barriers, and there is room for another 3 off Turn 4/5 across from Palace Cinema way over yonder. Turn 2 with updated signage and rebuilt/moved grandstands. Even though you can't see it, I rebuilt the underside of the grandstands, moved a grandstand from T4/5 to the inside of Turn 2, and built a replacement temporary grandstand at Turn 4/5 that will be moved to the inside or outside of Turn 2 when the time comes and I have to reclaim that area for more modulars. This is, for the time being, the kind of midway area with the Pizza Truck, Slushy Truck and Ice Cream Truck. Image 1 of the rebuilt Tow Truck... Image 2 of said Tow Truck... FGMatt Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Absolutely fantastic scene! I'd agree that the cars do look bit wide on the streets now, but then so do real F1 cars at Baku Quote
westracing01 Posted September 10, 2024 Author Posted September 10, 2024 Figured out a way to make decals... Dunno how long they'll last. Black is very difficult and I'd recommend against using it as a background color. The 1991 Ferrari F1 car, adjusted for what I have. Will change the tires to the Pirelli rubber found on the new F1 Speed Champions cars... Quote
Feuer Zug Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Good work. The older cars have more graceful and less cluttered lines that make building them in LEGO far easier. Quote
westracing01 Posted September 18, 2024 Author Posted September 18, 2024 Indeed. Some of that is just testing to see how the sizing, etc of the decals worked. Black is the only color that's a real problem but I also don't have a printer that uses dye-based inks which is apparently what you need. I'm considering getting one though and seeing what can be accomplished. I'm not paying $3K USD for a printer/cutter though to make the good decals like some of the shops have. At least not anytime soon. Quote
