Posted December 12, 20177 yr I couldn't find any posts with information I needed, so I started a new topic. I have 2 5292 RC Buggy motors that are howling a need lubrication. How do I take them apart? I have both oil and grease from my model trains that I could use.
December 13, 20177 yr Author By the way, does anybody know what the 4 digit number on the motors represent? I have 6 of the RC Buggy motors and 5 unique numbers. I also have many micro motors with unique numbers.

December 13, 20177 yr Like most things today they are not designed to be taken apart as componant parts are snapped together. Usually if dis-assembled the tabs get damaged and fail to engage when re-building. Its a fact of life nowadays. Only thing I suggest is to try a drop of thin oll on the axle shaft where it enters the motor housing and let cappillary action draw the oil along the axle shaft into the motor housing. December 14, 20177 yr Never use mineral based oil with lego. It has acids that will destroy the lego plastic. Use silicon spray lubricant or silicone grease. Lego uses white silicone grease in its motors from the factory.

Yeah, I found that out the hard way when oiling a pneumatic cylinder... Luckily I only did it to one of them...
