I'm hardpressed to select one year over another because each year had sets I really liked and ones I didn't.....except the last year.

On the whole I guess the Prisoner of Azkaban year wins simply because of how much stuff was available. I actually like the year 1 castle better(except those roof bits). I don't like that switching box in the Shrieking Shack, but the rest of that model is nice. The two stores for Knockturn and Diagon alleys were great additions. It's a shame they didn't make more sets for the last movie, but I guess the license has been milked for all it's worth.

As for the flesh vs yellow debate I agree with an earlier poster. The flesh tones look SO much better on Star Wars, Indy, HP etc sets then the yellow ones do. However, for castle and city themes the flesh tones look strange. I think it comes down to growing up with yellow skinned castle figs.

I thought this was a nice topic after I saw the first (and closed) one. Now with Poll and pictures, like they asked in the first topic (that is closed...). Whoops, I can't see a button to post a poll, guess we'll have to just say it. All those links in this post, my fingers hurt from typing, but it is handy, isn't it?

So, my question to you, Harry Potter or LEGO fan, what is (in your eyes) the best LEGO Harry Potter year? In which year LEGO brought us the nicest looking HP LEGO? Post which set and why.

I like all the years, but I will post and describe why when there are reactions.

Edit: I have made a fault in the title, a mod, please delete the 'y' after favorit.

For me, POA wins best year on sheer volume.

I Love Hogwarts III, the greenhouse is beautiful!

But the Graveyard Duel from GOF is my favorite set. I just can't get enough of the horror-y goodness.

All the years were nice! But i think year 3 was the best, despite of the flesh-tones. I love the knight's bus! The MF of stan shunpike is an amazing fig and the sets comes with alot of accessoires.

Yup. It would be so weird if crownies and dwarves suddenly went flesh-toned! :oh3: But now i comparise a yellow Harry and a fleshie one, fleshie wins.

I was very happy to see the Harry Potter line in the autumn of 2001. I had already bought some Star wars lego but I was not really interrested in buying other lines. This was a very good adding to the castle line of that time and also the City line of that time. It had very nice new faces, wigs and many animals.

I got the sorting hat from my sister for Saint-Nicolas 2001 and not long after that I decided to buy some more. I didn't liked it when they changed the greys and brown, but that also appeared on other lines. The only problem was that there were too many Harries in the sets, as there were too many Rons and Draco's. Some common people never appeared as a minifig. It was a pity they made less sets with nr 4 and only one set with nr 5. I know it 's getting darker, but I found it more and more interresting. From the three Hogwartscastles I found the second the best. The second Hagrids Hut was also better than the first one.
