Hobbes Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Today I didn't want to go straight home after work and decided to stroll around in town a bit. Since it was raining I decided to do some "indoor window shopping" and went to a shopping center in the city which also has quite a big toys department (not TRU size, but still). I didn't expect to see a lot of LEGO cos the last time I was there (sometime in January this year) they didn't have much on their shelves. Looked like they were selling off their last stock without the intention of restocking. Well, today that LEGO corner looked a bit different. It was still there - and bigger than ever! I haven't seen that much LEGO in a toys store for ages! They have restocked everything, even sets I haven't seen on the shelves for quite some time: they had Designer sets (the 440x line), brick buckets, Harry Potter, Bionicle, Technic Racers (or whatever they're called), other Technic sets, the entire Santa Fe train line, all of the My Own Train train cars, all Orient Expedition sets (thought that was gone), the latest train line (4512, 4511, tracks, speed regulator, train station, cargo), the entire new Construction theme (including the big truck and XXL crane), the new dark grey road plates, the entire Ferrari line, Duplo, Jack Stone - and not just one set of each! LEGO EVERYWHERE! :oD It was the fourth store, I think, where I saw the 7344. I personally don't like it at all but in all the stores I saw it it attracted little boys (and sometimes their dads). So, I have to admit that it seems to be a good model after all :) It felt reeeeeeeally good to see that LEGO does seem to attract customers (again) and encourage stores to restock. I haven't had that feeling lately. I didn't buy anything, though (there was no sale and the prices still are *cough* an outrage *cough*), but I could have left a lot of money there :-D Today was a good day... Quote
Hobbes Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 As far as I remember they had 4713, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19. I'm not sure about 4712. Quote
Jipay Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 mmhhhh.... I'm searching for a 7419... any idea what the price was ? :^D Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 9, 2005 Governor Posted June 9, 2005 Hobbes, I didn't see any mention of those obtuse 4+ Pirate sets in your listings. Were there any there or has this store decided to bouycot them? Quote
Hobbes Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 They had the 7075. That was the only one I saw. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 9, 2005 Governor Posted June 9, 2005 Well that one is probably the best out of all of them! Quote
Hobbes Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 mmhhhh.... I'm searching for a 7419... any idea what the price was ? :^D I'm interested in one myself so I do know the price. Unfortunately it was pretty high: EUR 103.99 :/ Quote
Jipay Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 damn... i'll check and let you know... maybe we can deal again :^^ Quote
Hobbes Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 Well that one is probably the best out of all of them! I don't really like it that's why I didn't deem it noteworthy ;) Quote
Hobbes Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 damn... i'll check and let you know... maybe we can deal again :^^ At that price I guess it'll be there for some time. And as I said they had more than one ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 9, 2005 Governor Posted June 9, 2005 Just prey on a stupid eBay seller who doesn't know how to list properly. Obviously harder and takes more time to find, but you'll save the money if you can find a good (or bad in the caese of the seller) auction. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 9, 2005 Governor Posted June 9, 2005 It the board game version! Is there two versions, or just the board game version? If so, wouldn't the seller be requesting more for the board game version? Would you need the board the game to go with it? Quote
Hobbes Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 Umm... I didn't pay much attention to it at the store. The box said 7419, that's what I remember. And LUGNET lists only one version for it. But I'm not an expert on Orient Expedition... Quote
ApophisV Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Those larger Orient Expedition sets all come with parts of the board game. It's some kind of a collectible stuff, you get those puzzle style board parts with the three larger sets (Temple of Mount Everest, Scorpion Palace and the Dragon Fortress). The cards and the dices come with those sets also. The smaller sets (the three that come with one beast (Tygurah, Yeti and Jun-Chi), the Elephant Caravan and the Aero Nomad) come with additional cards. About the Emperor's Ship I'm not sure since I doesn't own it. Quote
V()()D()() Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I have two 7419 I bought them for a school project, I'll post pics Friday or Saturday. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 9, 2005 Governor Posted June 9, 2005 How much did you manage to acquire those for V()()D()()? Or were they gifts? Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 The suggested retail price is $90.00 USD for each. So I hope they were gifts or you bought them on clearance. ;) Quote
chewie Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 well i have yet but i saw one at a zellers in Canada on clearance for 60$ CD (i mean canadian dollars not a music cd)...i think i might get this for my birthday its in 8 days :-D Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 10, 2005 Governor Posted June 10, 2005 How convenient. Australian Dollars are worth about the same as Candian Dollars at the moment. So that's around US$46.75. Till tomorrow at least... Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted June 11, 2005 Governor Posted June 11, 2005 Chewie! You better get to Zellers before they sell out! Quote
