@Digger of Bricks, might I suggest the addition of a clown minifig to the Casey Junior set? The clowns play such an important role in Dumbo. My pick would be the one who wears the dress and fake elephant head as the "hysterical mother" in Dumbo's clown act.

Okay, done! It's kind of weird actually that did forget to account for them. Here's the edited description:

Quote

Dumbo | Casey Junior's Circus Train - Priced at approximately US $100-$120, this set would feature locomotive Casey Jr. with at least three circus animal transporting box cars and a caboose, all set upon a full oval assembly of track. Figures would include Mrs. JumboDumboTimothy, and various other animal molds, both new and reprinted preexisting ones. Also, minifigures would include a train engineer, at least one clown, and the ringmaster.

Love it!

In the meantime, I've come up with a couple ideas for smaller Disney sets:

Bambi Explores (Bambi, 1942)

Price point: No more than $20, maybe as low as $15

Based on the scene in the movie where he wanders for a bit, meeting animals and learning words. The builds would include a tree, a hollow log, a few rocks, and a patch of flowers--very simple stuff, maybe even in the 4 Juniors line. Figures would include Bambi, Thumper, and Flower the skunk. The main play feature would be the log opening up to reveal Thumper or Flower hiding inside.

Alice At the Mad Tea Party (Alice in Wonderland, 1951)

Price Point: $30-40

The builds would be a long table, multiple chairs, and an array of crockery, plus a bit of fencing with a gate and poles to support a string of lanterns. Minifigs: Alice (with a perplexed expression instead of the smile on the CMF), Mad Hatter, and March Hare. One of the main draws of this set would be the sheer color variety--everything at the Mad Tea Party is mismatched, with no two chairs, cups, or saucers alike.

@Digger of Bricks I'm designing both in real bricks, currently. I know the Up house needs texture like in the Old Fishing Store, but prices are prohibitive for me, so I'm just trying to mock it up. Casey Junior's coming along pretty well. Once I get him done, should I post a picture? Also, Casey Junior doesn't actually have an engineer.

I've edited my initial description for the Little Mermaid set idea I proposed earlier, after realizing that both Ariel and King Triton could use the new mermaid tail piece introduced on the Mer-Bat CMF instead of the usual minifigure leg height tail part.

Quote

The Little Mermaid | Prince Eric Takes On Ursula - Priced at somewhere between US $40-$60, the two main builds in this set would be of an upturned shipwreck and a Ant-Man style, brick build Queen Ursula. Four minifigures would come in the set, including both Ariel and Ursula (both with expressions differing from their CMF counterparts, with Ariel utilizing a Dark Green recolor of CMS2 Mermaid Batman's elongated tail), Prince Eric, and King Triton (also utilizing the new, elongated tail piece).

Even though both of those movies aren't part of the Disney Princess pantheon, I could even see those two ideas being done as minidoll sets, even though I'd prefer if they were minifigure based instead.

Sure, whenever you feel like you are satisfied with the final result, whether it be on this topic or an MOC topic of your own! :classic:

Well...the Bambi set wouldn't have any humanoid figures at all, just animals, but they might draw on the Princess sub-theme "Palace Pets" for design cues.

Some ideas for sets based on the first Incredibles movie:

The Incredibles

The Incredi-car: $19.99

Builds: Mr. Incredible’s car, bank vault/exploding wall

Minifigs: Mr. Incredible (old blue suit), Incrediboy, Bomb Voyage

Jungle Island Chase: $29.99

Builds: ‘Flying saucer’ vehicles, falling trees, Violet’s forcefeild

Minifigs: Dash, Violet, Syndrome Goon (x2)

Omnidriod Showdown: $39.99

Builds: Omnidroid, small street light/corner, ice ramp

Minifigs: Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Frozone, Syndrome, Jak-Jak (baby fig w/ new head)

I would like. To see a collectible Disney Princess mini doll theme as a way to showcase alternate costumes for the characters, and fill in some of the gaps in the pantheon (and maybe add some more villains and supporting cast).

Suggested characters (long list, but I love the Disney princess films):

1. Peasant dress ("Wishing Well" scene) Snow White

2. Cinderella rags dress

3. Cinderella pink "mouse-made" dress (include mouse friends)

4. Sleeping Beauty peasant "Briar Rose" dress

5. Sleeping Beauty blue dress

6. Ariel blue "Kiss the Girl" dress

7. Belle blue village dress

8. Belle pink dress and cape from "Something There"

9. Aladdin in mini doll form

10. Jasmine purple "engagement" dress

11. Pocahontas

12. Mulan in matchmaker clothes

13. Tiana green ballgown

14. Tiana blue evening dress with frog

15. Tiana waitress dress

16. Merida aqua "tournament" dress

17. Rapunzel with cut hair

18. Sleeping Beauty's three good fairies

19. Lady Tremaine (Cinderella)

20. Anastasia and Drizella Tremaine (Cinderella)

21. Vanessa (Ursula's human form)

22. Lottie (Tiana's best friend)

23. Queen Elinor (Merida's mother)

I was just thinking to myself that the "Disney Line" really only includes the Princess figures. When I go into the Disney stores, Marie from the Aristo Cats is all over the place. She is also popular in the Disneyland Park.. so is Lady from Lady and the Tramp. I think they should start to make sets that include more animal characters from Disney movies, such as Dumbo, Bambi, Aristocats, 101 Dalmatians, Jungle Book, Lady and the Tramp.. just to name a few.  I think someone on here that is talented should build a Cruella car.. I think it would be similar to the Penguins artic roller?

Oh but ultimate wish list.. a Lego Dragon of Maleficent complete with Phillip on Samson the Horse riding up a thorn covered bridge to battle her.

Does anyone think a large, minifigure scaled D2C set of Rapunzel's Tower from Tangled could be good seller amongst adult fans, Disney and Lego alike? Though not as nearly as large as this creation, a set would probably be just as detailed.

So I don't think that Tangled has the commercial power that some other Disney Animation and Pixar Studios options might. The new Tangled series *was* already renewed for a second series, but I'm not seeing much merchandising around the characters - a few Rapunzel dolls and a couple PVC character sets.

Though we're not exactly sure what will be the final contents of the Ideas Tron Legacy Lightcycle set, it can be presumed (based upon leaks we've seen so far) that only Sam Flynn, Quora, and Rinzler will be the only three characters to appear as minifigures in the set.

With that in mind, here's an idea for another set based upon the movie that would give us both Kevin Flynn and Clu as minifigures too:

Tron Legacy | The Light-Jet Chase - Priced at roughly US $50-$60, this set would feature one large three-maned Light-Jet (black and trans-light blue) and two pursuing one-maned Light-Jets (black and trans-light orange). Minifigures would include Sam Flynn, Quora, Rinzler, Clu, and Kevin Flynn.

Well, given that it had a rejected Ideas project associated with it, would you feel that a minifigure based, D2C set based upon Elsa's Ice Palace from Frozen could be more likely?

I actually hesitated to write that suggestion in the previous post - I think it's a possibility, but it's a model we've already seen twice (maybe 3 times if you include 10736). That doesn't preclude it being made, it's more that I think we'll need to wait at least until Fall 2019 for that type of set, to be released along with Frozen 2.

I don't think that one tower could be good for D2C. It isn't well-known what it's inside it except for the highest part where lives Rapunzel.

I'm not counting on such a set to ever happen, just wistfully wishing, but I think it'd be pretty darn cool if Lego made a NINJAGO City like modular set of San Fransokyo, the main fictional metropolitan setting for Big Hero 6. As opposed to a stacked, Cyberpunk-eqsue design like Ninjago, this would be more like an actual skyline, much like this "forced perspective" MOC by L.G. Orlando, with a normal sidewalk and all.

San Fransokyo

Perhaps Arendelle Castle would be a better choice for a Frozen themed D2C? That's a castle I'd much rather prefer over a big hunk of ice (and therefore possibly loads of translucent parts), and I'm sure most Castle fans for that matter would feel the same way.

Ah. I guess you do make a good point. :sceptic:

I need more ducks. Gimme DuckTales and Darkwing, maybe a nice Goofy Movie set thrown in for good measure. I'd love to see a classic Mickey minifigure somehow - ideally with the red shorts and yellow shoes intact, but I'd be content with a little Steamboat Willie set with a black-and-white Mickey! If they could find a way to make an Oswald figure, too, that would be delightful!

As for some less niche stuff (although DuckTales seems perfectly likely with the wonderful new series) I'd love to get a good Lilo and Stitch set, a Robin Hood minifig, proper sets for Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland, and I wouldn't complain if they somehow found a way to make a good-looking Lion King set. Moana definitely needs a minifig - in fact, there really should be an initiative to get all the Disney Princesses into proper minifig form. Some of the modern tv stuff would be fun, too, like Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, and Star vs the Forces of Evil (but especially Phineas and Ferb - they're just that iconic now imo).

How about a Zootopia skyline modular, much like the Ninjago City modular? :sweet:

Dunno about a modular but an Architecture Skyline set would look awesome.

Yeah, a broadly encompassing licensed Architecture line would be AWESOME. Gotham City or Metropolis anyone?

There's *my* real hope! The new series has already gone into production of season 2, along with tweaks on the back half of the first season. And there's some signs the series might be making move from Disney XD over to vanilla Disney Channel. If that happens, I could see the likelihood jumping a bit. But still, I think with LEGO's long product schedules, we should hope for a season 3 before TLG produces sets.

I would give the world for a Darkwing and Ratcatcher set, mayhaps with a Megavolt! But we've still got to see how they work him into the new Ducktales to see how plausible that is.

So just for you guys, here's one of the latest things I've been working on that sorta fits this bill. The parts are on order - just waiting for the mailman to cooperate:

An Emperor's New Groove set would be amazing. A palace set would provide plenty of space for setpieces (throne room, secret lab), play features (PULL THE LEVER, KRONK), and figures, such as Pacha, Kuzco, Yzma, Kronk (Axl-style torso, of course), and Llama!Kuzco.

There's that too, a line of microscale Disney Theme Park locations, architecture, and attractions! Not a bad idea for a series of promotional sets!

I would settle for a microscale set of Kuzco's palace from the model towards the beginning with a few figures!
