QM Note: I'm going to assume you want Atramor going before Bellanotte, otherwise she won't have enough ether to keep her lucky chant going.

Atramor's bomb rolls lazily down the cobblestones before coming to rest at one of the War Priest's feet. Seconds later the road explodes in a violent plume of multi-colored fire killing nearly all the remaining paladin forces. Dyric fires shot after shot, but his quarry seem to have grown aware of the assassins prowess and keep their heads down. Torc bathes the battlefield in fire as Hoke engages toe to toe with one of the infiltrators dealing the guardsman a nasty wound. Leona's forces encroach further up the street, shields up and in a defensive position as Luke hastily drains two tonics. Althior summons yet another swirling vortex of shadow and destruction, this time raining the arcane maelstrom down upon the town watch soldiers who are utterly torn to shreds their entire beings erased by the power of the void. Matthias readies the nurturing plants of the forest but finds his companions quite capable of handling themselves.

Profound Tactics - All Town Watch forces have a 1/2 chance to ignore their Target's the Positive Effects. I can't really wrap my head around this. :wacko: Encouraged and Reinforced are straightforward, I suppose, but I don't know how any other positive effect interacts with this.

Also, I'm basing this plan on the belief enemies are also affected by how flanks work, let me know if this is not the case. I kind of doubt we'd be facing two ballista and two high priests if it weren't. :laugh:

Also, did anyone know Matthias takes half damage from free hits?! Because I didn't. :blush: Who says healers can't tank.

 

Atramor whirls around in his drilling of the high priest to see yet another one approach on the opposite front. He is quick to regroup with the party and round everyone up into defensive positions as the Archangel descends on Flank A, using her Holy Word to cleanse their buffs.

"Althior, we're gonna need the last of those damn Pumpkin Bombs on Flank B. Everyone else, focus Flank A! Dyric, we need some serious cullin' here, don't let us down, mate. Everyone at the top, be careful, won't be as lucky as we normally are; we're gonna be tankin' hard 'til we can thin these bastards out. Matthias-" the rogue looked left and right - and left, and right, and then down to see the top hat he'd spotted at the periphery of his vision. "-oh, there ya' are. Got a special job for ya', mate. Ya' familiar with scrolls?" Without waiting for an answer, he handed the druid his Scroll of the Chasm. "See that dark-lookin' lady on Flank A? Dunno 'bout you, but I'm thinkin' she'd be of more use on our side," he explained vaguely, with a wink. Atramor then goes to spray Flank B with his bottle of Fearomone from the back row.

Lions in the back row. Leona strikes the Inspector General twice.

The Archers fire on Ballista A twice.

The Phalanx attack Snipers A and B.

The High Guard attacks Enforcers A and B.

Luke drinks a Tonic and then heals whoever is injured.

QM Note:
Profound Tactics, essentially means:
1/2 chance to take only regular damage from encouraged foes
1/2 chance their foes nimble effect doesn't work on rolls of Damage or Special Damage
1/2 chance their foes only get to roll once when Lucky instead of twice
1/2 chance their foes don't benefit from reinforcement and take double damage

Correct, enemies are also affected by how Flanks work unless otherwise stated.

QM Note: Just to provide some clarity around the Arrogate, they only take the negative effects dealt to allies (except instant KO, fixed as intended), not the attacks and damage themselves. For example if Hoke deals damage to Enforcer A the damage goes to Enforcer A, but all the negative effects go to the Arrogate.

i suppose I need to be clearer. :laugh:

My concern is less that the Arrogate will soak up all of Dyric's damage, and more that Matthias may fail with his scrolls and Dyric will instant kill her. Which has a pretty low margin of chance working out like that, but it is a possibility.

Matthias accepts the scroll and opens it a little unfamiliarly. Doing his best impression of the powerful mages in storybooks, he shouts out the words of the scroll, concentrating on the Paladin Arrogate and repeating the words until they have some effect.

Not an ace in the hole, but damn, full negative effect protection and an ally with 2000 health would be nice. :laugh:
