"Don't see why not, just don't go bashin' it over someone's head."

QM Note: We'll get going here proper in 24hrs. If there's anyone who hasn't posted yet, now would be the time.

"Much obliged, friend." Karie nods her head in appreciation as she enters the establishment. Looking around, she pulls up a bar stool and begins to play on her guitar, tuning it as she plays.

"Bartender, what have you got to drink?"

"What, are we all settin' up shop here now?" remarked Atramor, while divesting himself of the armory of weapons he was carrying. "Ain't no Heroica Hall, that's for sure. S'pose it'll do." The rogue tilted his hat towards the heroes in the room and gravitated towards what was left of the first few he recalled seeing in the Hall, most notable of whom was Boomingham, who he gave a thorough slap on the shoulder as he observed the area. "Much as I'd love to sit here drinkin', mates, we need to take the Hall back. Besides, they're free there. City's fallin' apart or somethin', right? Well, I guess we're gonna have to put the damn thing back together piece by piece, huh? Show those Founders who's really been lookin' out for Eubric ever since their crusty behinds split on it."

Apologizing isn't going to work, I don't think. They think our ways are wrong, that we let this city go to the brink of civil war. This is far too serious for an apology. But, if we stick together, don't do anything stupid, we might pull through and get our Hall back.

Noticing Petaldan's hesitance, Torald says: I don't like this bar either, but it's better then standing outside in the rain, innit? And, with all these important things going on, I might actually stay sober. Who knows what's going to happen. Torald takes a long look around this bar. Still no sign of Ezeran, is there? Did he not come back from your last quest? It's not like him to miss on something this important, is it?

"Oh, my! We let this city go to the point of civil war? I hope it doesn't have anything to do with the Triffid. I thought giving it back to the Guild would help everyone to be happier. That's why I didn't want to harm those naughty wizards we found in the Guild's equipment. I hope I made the right decision."

"Ezeran? He was right behind me...I thought...I don't know where he could have gone. I was certain he saw you too, but maybe not. I hope he doesn't get lost or something in all the confusion. You should have seen him in our last quest. We had to fight against all of these bad people. I was so afraid and didn't want to hurt them, but Ezeran just used his magic to blast them."

Dyric saunters into the Locale, taking in the surroundings. He had stopped there once, a long time ago. He had hoped then that it would be his last visit. Oh how the times have changed.

As he steps in, he watches Karie barter with the bouncer for her guitar. Quickly, Rone rifles through his own bag of equipment. Crossbows, knives... those would all be immediately flagged. He wondered briefly if his trusty old chain whip could pass off as innocuous when he spotted the Unlucky Horseshoe amongst his belongings. He couldn't remember when he had acquired it, nevermind ever using it, but today it would finally see the sun. Wrapping the chain around his body as an extra measure, Dyric snatched the horseshoe and then closed up the bag. In his free hand, he mindlessly fiddled with his Lucky Die. His luck had always been tight at best. In such trying times, perhaps luck would finally smile on him. He waited behind Karie, a nervousness rising from deep within.

Boomingham, a former King and almost King again... finds himself in a ramshackle hole without any weapons. His eyes are first drawn to his old companions, or what is left of them, but then they drift over to the pirate... wearing new cloths, but the same man surely... Natnail...

Boomingham glowers and wishes he had his swords on him, but goes instead to the bar for a drink. He turns to the mushroom-headed man. "Any other news round these parts? Just the Shadeaux that were picked up, or others as well? What about Umbra? Hear what happened to her?"

Germ basically started talking to himself as looked around. I think it was a mistake to come in here. What if my so called "friends" are looking for me. Can they find me anywhere. Or should I try to get in contact with them again...they haven't returned any of my earlier messages. I should tell them I am not at the Hall at very least and probably why. With that Germ is off writing more Z-Mail(s) again.

Don't think it has much to do with the triffid. It sure made the Guild happy, but the other families might not have liked it. But I don't know much about the other houses so I could be completely wrong.

Ezeran can stand his own, no doubt. I just wish he was here. With his knowledge he might understand what's going on better. Anyway, I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must be to go on quests, being so young, forced to kill. That must be so hard.

Kiray thinks for a moment. "Fine." She then lowers her voice a tad, "Some Heroes aligned themselves with the houses, some went with the Wolf Gang. I clearly went for the latter. After the Hall was closed, I came here. The Wolf King... well, things have been pretty quiet for sometime. I think he's laying low. That's all I feel comfortable saying. Atramor? I didn't think you were still around. Juding by your tone, it's clear some things never change.

You're asking for an armed response. That's exactly what the Veterans are looking for, it would give them all the excuse they need to shut us down for good. A heated action is only going to make our situation worse. We need to think. Now, I don't want to hear the result of their deliberations any more than you do, I think we both know it isn't going to turn out well for us. We need to prove ourselves somehow, convince them that we are all on the same side. That's how we get out of this. That's how we restore Heroica.

Karie makes her way to the entrance of the Lady Luck's Locale, noticing the large bouncer. She takes off most of her weapons (including weapons she took out from her private locker back home, weapons she hadn't wielded in years) and handed them to the bouncer: all except for her Fine-tuned Guitar. She strums for the bouncer.

"You need some entertainment? I can provide it for your establishment!" Karie grinned, putting on her best showman-like facade.

With his longer stride her easily catches up with Karie and can only grin as she convinces the bouncer that a bard with a guitar is no threat to anyone.

I look forward to hearing you play Songsmith.

I suppose I must also unburden myself at your feet Brownskin.  Watch it all well.

After a prolonged period Vindsval manages to remove his array of weapons and lays them all protectively in his Scorpion Cloak.  Unfortunately, this leaves his mechanical arm fully exposed.  Even after all this time he is still self conscious of its alieness in this world.

I will return for these soon.

Fully unburdened he follows Karie into the tavern and looks around to find more familiar faces.

With Annie, and Bobby gone he thinks back to another sister in arms and in blood.  He raises his voice above the crowd.

MIDERUN, are you in here with this mob?

Throlar stood looking at the mighty edifice of the Hall. Starting at the top and moving slowly to the bottom, his eyes lingering on the worn, weathered, moss coated bricks that made up it's walls before finally reaching the door (marked by the recent remains of a smashed bottle of alcohol of indeterminate type) and the notice that had caused him to start examining the building so throughly. It said that the Hall was closed and that all heroes had been evicted until further notice. There didn't seem to be anything wrong from the outside, and Throlar couldn't think of any reason why this would happen. After some thought he turned with a shrug and walked away. Wondering exactly what he would do now.

He didn't see the other man until he had already run into him.

Some time later...

Throlar, holding his nose in one hand and a piece of paper with a set of directions written on it in the other, stood looking at the rundown heap called Lady Luck's Locale. Starting at the top and moving slowly to the bottom, his eyes lingering on the... this felt rather familiar. This place, he thought, seems rather similar to the hall in it's construction, which says more about the hall than this place. Looks about the same age too, which is rather reassuring in that it hasn't fallen down yet. Oh well, if this is where everyone has gone...

He strode in, handing his weapons over to the bouncer as he went past, and stood just inside the door looking at the bar,* noting the number of familiar faces. One in particular caught his eye, mostly because it was rather far above the others.

"Vindsval!" he called, "I'm not the person you're looking for but I hope you're happy to see me." He stopped, looking around him for a moment before saying "Where is Annienal? I can't find her anywhere and there was something I wanted to give her."

*For those who are interested in that sort of thing, this is the third time he's stood looking at something, it's getting rather repetitive.

HA HA Master Throlar, I am indeed pleased to see you here.  He claps the man on the shoulder with his flesh hand Well Met.  Mistress Annie. . . well that is a note of sadness in our meeting.  She has left us.  She has chosen to search for Warlen, an old friend of us both, and to continue her Path with him.  I have wished her well, and said my farewell.  I hope that one day our Paths will again cross.  Tell me, what do you know of what happens here?

"Oh, I see. It's just that I've decided to give her a few items I got during the Lethauros quest, the lance and boots. It seems fitting considering that she's the one who actually brought him down, I just delivered the coup-de-grâce. What has happened? I have no idea, all I know is that the heroes have been evicted from the Hall for some reason, I met (well, walked in to) an Amphi Croaken who said he used to work at the Hall as someone who was in charge of keeping records of new members of Heroica, he said that everyone had gone to this... dive, and gave me directions here."

QM Note: Alrighty folks, here we go. If at any point you are unsure of something or want to attempt something, just let me know and we'll see how we can work it in. As this is the finale, I want to try and make this as enjoyable and accommodating for everyone as I can. I am going to attempt to stick to the 24hr minimum posting rule, but I'll be attempting to be a lot more active than that.

"The Veterans? The Original Veterans? Alive? It appears the Miracleworker was successful in his quest."

Throlar stared at the newly delivered newspaper with a look of... indeterminate something. He had no idea what to think.

"Well," he said, "what do we do now? I mean, the original Veterans have returned, that ought to sound good but... this stuff about joining up with the town watch and the paladins to make a 'more peaceful and prosperous city' sounds rather ominous. And coupled with the fact that the current Veterans have been forced to run away or have been killed it sounds... bad."

Edited by Lord Duvors

After reading the newspaper. Are you kidding me? They got some religious zealots and some butt kissers helping them. And what is this Return of Hope crud? It makes them sound like the good guys and we are some evil empire. I swear if that "dragon lady" shows up here and tells us to get out here, I will probably kick her @$$. Then Germ started to look around as if he was expecting the "dragon lady" to suddenly show up.

I love at the demon's comment.

"You think you could kick her megablocks?!? I should like to see that fight."

Player note: I know I just missed the actual deadline, WBD (and others), but seeing the others and realizing this might be the last ever Heroica Quest, really made me want to make a post here.

Rumors of a rival drinking establishment suddenly flourishing with newfound clientele permeated the atmosphere of the Njordon's Hall. The tavern was mainly frequented by those of Nordic origin, but was actually open to all. It mostly catered to those working in the harbour and the many sailors of Eubric. Njordon's Hall was well-known for its fine nordic mead that was served there and the many other services it offered, most of the carnal kind. A fog of stories and rumors surrounded the Hall and its owner, but the rumors remained rumors and were yet to be proven fact. It was publicly known the owner was into some shady business and had acquired the tavern through some nefarious deal. If you had the coin, you could most likely get whatever you wished there, as it was a den for smugglers and their kind. One of the more unfounded rumors, however, was that the owner was somehow connected to the Bonaparte riots, maybe had his hand in them or in the very least profited in some way from the Bonaparte's downfall and the temporary vacuum that brought with it.

The buzz in the Hovels had not gone by unnoticed for Eric. Slumped in the throne he had made, he surveyed the grounds of Njordon's Hall, his Hall. The place was filled with people spending their coin on booze and women, but the Nord found little joy in that today. Silently he tapped the arms of the throne, contemplating his next move. When he could not longer keep it still, he got up, retrieved Conspirator and Godricsleif and went out. He needed to see what was going on in the Hovel with his own eyes. On his way there, Eric passed Heroica Hall and raised an eyebrow. The place looked remarkably empty. Now it had been a while since he was last there, but still, the Nord had always remembered the place as teeming with life. With a steady step, the Nord continued to march to the Hovels, the cold air filling his longs. He closed his eyes to enjoy the feeling.

It took Eric some time to reach the Hovels and then find his way to the place he had been hearing so much about: Lady Luck's Locale. Much to his dismay, he handed over his weapons to the bouncer. The Nord cracked his fists and his neck. If push came to shove, he'd have to do it this way then, he figured. Entering the tavern, Eric was overtaken with surprise for a brief moment at the sight of all the Heroes there. "Vad i namnet...", he muttered. He scanned the crowd and spotted some familiar faces.

Then he spotted Pretzel the Monk and then Throlar, the ambassador. "You have got to be kidding me", the Nord stood there, somewhat flabbergasted.
