This is far too serious for an apology. But, if we stick together, don't do anything stupid, we might pull through and get our Hall back. Noticing Petaldan's hesitance, Torald says: I don't like this bar either, but it's better then standing outside in the rain, innit? And, with all these important things going on, I might actually stay sober. Who knows what's going to happen. Torald takes a long look around this bar. Still no sign of Ezeran, is there? He had hoped then that it would be his last visit. Oh how the times have changed. As he steps in, he watches Karie barter with the bouncer for her guitar. Quickly, Rone rifles through his own bag of equipment. Crossbows, knives... those would all be immediately flagged. He wondered briefly if his trusty old chain whip could pass off as innocuous when he spotted the Unlucky Horseshoe amongst his belongings. He couldn't remember when he had acquired it, nevermind ever using it, but today it would finally see the sun. Wrapping the chain around his body as an extra measure, Dyric snatched the horseshoe and then closed up the bag. In his free hand, he mindlessly fiddled with his Lucky Die. That's exactly what the Veterans are looking for, it would give them all the excuse they need to shut us down for good. A heated action is only going to make our situation worse. We need to think. Now, I don't want to hear the result of their deliberations any more than you do, I think we both know it isn't going to turn out well for us. January 6, 20187 yr Throlar stood looking at the mighty edifice of the Hall. Starting at the top and moving slowly to the bottom, his eyes lingering on the worn, weathered, moss coated bricks that made up it's walls before finally reaching the door (marked by the recent remains of a smashed bottle of alcohol of indeterminate type) and the notice that had caused him to start examining the building so throughly. It said that the Hall was closed and that all heroes had been evicted until further notice. There didn't seem to be anything wrong from the outside, and Throlar couldn't think of any reason why this would happen. After some thought he turned with a shrug and walked away. Wondering exactly what he would do now. He didn't see the other man until he had already run into him. Some time later... Throlar, holding his nose in one hand and a piece of paper with a set of directions written on it in the other, stood looking at the rundown heap called Lady Luck's Locale. Starting at the top and moving slowly to the bottom, his eyes lingering on the... this felt rather familiar. This place, he thought, seems rather similar to the hall in it's construction, which says more about the hall than this place. Looks about the same age too, which is rather reassuring in that it hasn't fallen down yet. Oh well, if this is where everyone has gone... He strode in, handing his weapons over to the bouncer as he went past, and stood just inside the door looking at the bar,* noting the number of familiar faces. One in particular caught his eye, mostly because it was rather far above the others. "Vindsval!" he called, "I'm not the person you're looking for but I hope you're happy to see me." He stopped, looking around him for a moment before saying "Where is Annienal? I can't find her anywhere and there was something I wanted to give her." *For those who are interested in that sort of thing, this is the third time he's stood looking at something, it's getting rather repetitive. January 6, 20187 yr "The Veterans? The Original Veterans? Alive? It appears the Miracleworker was successful in his quest." Throlar stared at the newly delivered newspaper with a look of... indeterminate something. He had no idea what to think. "Well," he said, "what do we do now? I mean, the original Veterans have returned, that ought to sound good but... this stuff about joining up with the town watch and the paladins to make a 'more peaceful and prosperous city' sounds rather ominous. And coupled with the fact that the current Veterans have been forced to run away or have been killed it sounds... bad." Edited January 6, 20187 yr by Lord Duvors
January 6, 20187 yr After reading the newspaper. Are you kidding me? They got some religious zealots and some butt kissers helping them. And what is this Return of Hope crud? It makes them sound like the good guys and we are some evil empire. I swear if that "dragon lady" shows up here and tells us to get out here, I will probably kick her @$$. Then Germ started to look around as if he was expecting the "dragon lady" to suddenly show up.
January 6, 20187 yr I love at the demon's comment. "You think you could kick her megablocks?!? I should like to see that fight."
January 6, 20187 yr Player note: I know I just missed the actual deadline, WBD (and others), but seeing the others and realizing this might be the last ever Heroica Quest, really made me want to make a post here. Rumors of a rival drinking establishment suddenly flourishing with newfound clientele permeated the atmosphere of the Njordon's Hall. The tavern was mainly frequented by those of Nordic origin, but was actually open to all. It mostly catered to those working in the harbour and the many sailors of Eubric. Njordon's Hall was well-known for its fine nordic mead that was served there and the many other services it offered, most of the carnal kind. A fog of stories and rumors surrounded the Hall and its owner, but the rumors remained rumors and were yet to be proven fact. It was publicly known the owner was into some shady business and had acquired the tavern through some nefarious deal. If you had the coin, you could most likely get whatever you wished there, as it was a den for smugglers and their kind. One of the more unfounded rumors, however, was that the owner was somehow connected to the Bonaparte riots, maybe had his hand in them or in the very least profited in some way from the Bonaparte's downfall and the temporary vacuum that brought with it. The buzz in the Hovels had not gone by unnoticed for Eric. Slumped in the throne he had made, he surveyed the grounds of Njordon's Hall, his Hall. The place was filled with people spending their coin on booze and women, but the Nord found little joy in that today. Silently he tapped the arms of the throne, contemplating his next move. When he could not longer keep it still, he got up, retrieved Conspirator and Godricsleif and went out. He needed to see what was going on in the Hovel with his own eyes. On his way there, Eric passed Heroica Hall and raised an eyebrow. The place looked remarkably empty. Now it had been a while since he was last there, but still, the Nord had always remembered the place as teeming with life. With a steady step, the Nord continued to march to the Hovels, the cold air filling his longs. He closed his eyes to enjoy the feeling. It took Eric some time to reach the Hovels and then find his way to the place he had been hearing so much about: Lady Luck's Locale. Much to his dismay, he handed over his weapons to the bouncer. The Nord cracked his fists and his neck. If push came to shove, he'd have to do it this way then, he figured. Entering the tavern, Eric was overtaken with surprise for a brief moment at the sight of all the Heroes there. "Vad i namnet...", he muttered. He scanned the crowd and spotted some familiar faces. Then he spotted Pretzel the Monk and then Throlar, the ambassador. "You have got to be kidding me", the Nord stood there, somewhat flabbergasted.
